Brummett PAMPA - Bobbie J. "Bob" Brummett, of Canyon Lake, 68, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel at Pampa with Dr. Derrell Monday, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa. Mr. Brummett was born in Clovis, N.M., and moved to Pampa in 1934 with his family. In 1944, he moved to Yakima, Wash., returning to Pampa in 1945 and graduating from Pampa High School in 1950. He joined the Air Force in 1950 and served 21 years, retiring in 1971 as a master sergeant at McCord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Wash. He had lived in the San Antonio area since 1980. He was a member of the Junior Odd Fellows for six years and the Order of Odd Fellows for 27 years. He was a member of the Eisenhauer Baptist Church at San Antonio. He married Ernestine Phillips in 1951 at White Deer. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobbie J. Brummett Jr., and a daughter, Nova Lora Brummett. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lloyd Brummett of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Guyda Maziarski of Bonney Lake, Wash., Ledena Mendiola of Tacoma and Tawnya Brummett of Canyon Lake; a brother, Lloyd Brummett of Avant, Okla.; two sisters, Martha Holt and Margie Moore, both of Pampa; and eight grandchildren. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger. Mrs. Biggs was a native of Asbury, Mo., and lived in the Borger/Phillips area from 1941 until 1967 when she moved to Houston. In 1972, she moved to Bartlesville, Okla., then returned to Borger in 1994. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Biggs, in 1994. Survivors include a son, Edwin Biggs of Borger; an aunt of Independence, Mo.; and a grandson. Mr. Demsky was born in New York and raised in California. After his marriage, he lived in Wichita, Kan. He owned and operated the All Surplus Sales salvage business until his retirement in 1990. In 1993, he moved to Perryton where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a golfer. He married Syble McGaughey Lusk in 1959 at Juarez, Mexico. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Lusk of Clayton, Mo.; a daughter, Donna Farney of Perryton; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wallace was born in Asientos, Aguascalientes, Mexico and moved to Borger three years ago from Frederick, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She married Homer L. Wallace Jr. in 1977 at Davidson, Okla. He died in 1987. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, of Amarillo. Mr. Roan was born in Chillicothe and was a longtime Pampa resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Until the mid-1960s, he served on the police force in Pampa. In 1975, he retired as owner/operator of Roan TV Service. He married Lois Roan in 1944 at Pampa. She died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Apryl Weese of Follett; a brother, Harold Roan of Spokane, Wash.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Jarboe was born in Floydada where he graduated from Floydada High School in 1939. A lifelong resident, he retired as a farmer. Mr. Jarboe was a former member of the board of directors of Hi Plains Underground Water District and of the Federal Land Bank. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Flo Ella Jackson at Floydada. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1955 and by a daughter, Vickie Pitts, in 1993. Survivors include a brother, Tom B. Jarboe of Friona; two granddaughters, Kellie Williams of Floydada and Kerrie Sullivan of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mulder was born in Atoka, Okla., and attended schools in Lone Star and Hedley. She then moved to South Plains. She was a retired homemaker and a member of Floydada Senior Citizens and First Baptist Church. She married Arby Mulder in 1935 at Silverton. He died in 1978. Survivors include a son, Nathan Mulder of South Plains; a daughter, Kathy Taylor of Amarillo; two sisters, Inez Minyard of Littlefield and Lavois McGaugh of Canyon; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Bowen, 73, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999. No services are scheduled. Cremation and arrangements were handled by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Bowen was born in Hubbardston, Mich. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. In 1991, Mr. Bowen retired from United Concrete Pipe at Riverside, Calif. He moved to Amarillo in 1994 from California. He was a Baptist. He married Mary Burton in 1981. Survivors include his wife; a son, Eugene Johnson of Amarillo; two daughters, Christina Johnson and Chrystal Bowen, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Stanley Bowen of Michigan and Roy Bowen of Oklahoma; and four grandchildren. Marshall, 86, of Dallas, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999. Wake services will be at 7 p.m. today in Emmanuel Church of God in Christ with Superintendent Elisha Demerson, pastor, officiating. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with Superintendent Elisha Demerson and the Rev. James Collins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Marshall was a native of Clarksville where he attended public school. In 1945, he moved to Amarillo where he first joined the Church of God in Christ. Later, Mr. Marshall joined Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. He served as the first musician, the first deacon and the first Sunday School Superintendent. He married Sarah C. Wysner in 1936. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geneive. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Ada Baldwin and Elizabeth Harper, both of Dallas, Anna Baldwin of Denver and Minnie Bowser of Amarillo; three sons, Elbert Marshall of Denver, Jimmy Marshall of Sacramento, Calif., and Leon Marshall Jr. of Dallas; a sister, Garlena Wooten of Clarksville; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Fien was born in Yeso. She had been the deputy tax assessor in the early 1930s. She later owned and operated Morgan Abstract Co. She was a private stenographer at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., in the 1960s. She was a charter member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Morgan, in 1943 and her second husband, Fred Fien in 1995. Survivors include two sisters, Christine Ready of Clovis and Gerolyn Brooks of Soldatna, Alaska. She also had lived in Plainview, Pampa, Amarillo and Austwell. Mrs. Kercheval had lived in Amarillo and was a longtime resident of Houston before moving to Austin two years ago. She was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Survivors include a daughter, Jill Walker of Austin; three sons, Jack G. Walker of Angleton, The Rev. Jeffrey H. Walker of Greenwich, Conn., and Kent Kercheval of Austin; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 12, 1999 Mary Elsie Little TUCSON - Mary Elsie Little, 86, died June 16, 1999, at Tucson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Amarillo. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Services are by Abbey Funeral Chapel, 3435 N. First Avenue, Tucson. Miss Little was born in Englewood, Kan. She was an accomplished author and illustrator of children's books, which are being published in three languages. She retired from the New York City libraries to reside in Tucson at the convent of the Teachers of the Children of God of which she was an associate member. She also was a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 12, 1999 Frances Cotter Tipps SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Frances Cotter Tipps, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m Saturday in Holladay Baptist Church in Salt Lake City. Internment will be at a later date in Elmgrove Cemetery at Alpine, Texas. Arrangements are by Holbrook Mortuary in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Tipps was born in Alpine. In 1939, she received her bachelor of science degree in physical education from Sul Ross State College. She then taught physical education in Seagraves, Texas. During World War II, Mrs. Tipps worked in civilian jobs at Camp Hood, Texas, Camp Beale, Calif., and the Army Map Services in San Antonio. After the war, she was a homemaker. She lived in Dennison, Texas, Pampa, Texas, College Station Texas, Seattle and Arvada, Colo. Several years ago, she moved to Salt Lake City. She married Thomas Olin Tipps in 1940 at Alpine. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Melanie Hall of Monterrey, Calif., and Betsy Hardebeck of Park City; a brother, James Cotter of Alpine; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
