Osage St. Mrs. Archer was born in Amarillo, where she had lived most of her life. She had been a counselor for Bruckner Children's Home for several years and was a certified nurse's aide. She was a member of Golden Pathways Church. Survivors include a son, Michael Archer of Amarillo; and a sister, Eileen Shields of Childress. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Claud Tugwell officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth. An Amarillo native, Mr. Johnson retired in 1985 after 28 years with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Mary Ann Murry in 1982 at Amarillo. She died in June. Survivors include four sons, John Berry of Canyon, Jody Berry of Clarendon and Gary Johnson and Ken Johnson, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Janet Elizarraraz Jackson of Amarillo; three sisters, Bea Raleigh of Amarillo, Winnie Doan of Idabell, Okla., and Dorothy Woods of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until noon today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association. Bachmann, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Durham Church of Christ with Cecil Burch officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery by Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne. Mr. Bachmann was born in Elk City and moved with his family to a farm 31/2 miles west and one mile north of Durham in 1920. He attended Durham School and was a member of the Durham Church of Christ. Mr. Bachmann and his wife made their home on the family farm west of Durham, where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1964, they moved to Durham and continued to raise cattle in their Antelope Hill pasture until 1997. He married Ima Gantz in 1935 at Cheyenne. She preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Cockrell of Durham and Roberta Bachmann of Oklahoma City; two sons, Calvin Bachmann of Durham and J.G. Bachmann of Shamrock, Texas; three sisters, Frances Ramsey of Canadian, Pearl Riley of Durham and Easter Bingham of Roseburg, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fox was born in George West, Live Oak County. She was a homemaker and an artist. She married "M.C." Mitt Fox in 1939 at Canyon. He died in 1985. Survivors include two sons, John C. Fox of Happy and Robert Lee Fox of Lubbock. The body will be available for viewing until service time at the funeral home in Canyon. In 1954, she married John W. Page and lived for 36 years in Dumas, where she was employed by the Dumas Independent School District. She had lived in Cunningham for the last five years. Mrs. Chaney was born in Allen, Okla., and had been a Borger resident for 63 years before moving to Georgetown three years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Borger. She was preceded in death by three husbands, A.E. Yeary in 1940; C.C. Davis in 1978; and Cecil Chaney in 1996. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel at Quanah with Houston Myers Jr., pastor of Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene of Decatur, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery at Quanah. Mrs. Bumgarner was born in Memphis, Texas, and had lived in Quanah since 1946. She moved to Decatur six years ago. She was a homemaker and nurse's aide for many years at the Hardeman County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Quanah Church of the Nazarene since 1948 and for the past six years had attended the Decatur Church of the Nazarene. She married Jerry Claud Bumgarner in 1938 at Turkey, Texas. He died in 1993. She also was preceded inn death by two sons, Donald Wayne in 1939 and Robbie Odell in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Mitzie Weathers of Decatur; two sisters, Viola Senna of Dallas and Hallie Farley of Duncanville; four grandchildren; three adopted grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 8 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 12, 1999 Ema Armstrong TULIA - Ema "Chuba" Armstrong, 94, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Tommy Ewing, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Armstrong was born in Snyder and moved to Swisher County in 1908 from Post. She graduated from Kress High School. During World War II, she had worked for the Ration office in Tulia. She then worked for Noland Bagley Insurance Co. as a bookkeeper for 18 years. Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a life member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star 33. She married Otto E. Behrends in 1924 at Plainview. He died in 1931. She married Frank J. Armstrong in 1936 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1978. She also was preceded in death by three stepsons. Survivors include a son, Eddie Behrends of Tulia; a stepson, Everett Armstrong of Brownfield; a stepdaughter, Lillian Armstrong of Cleveland, Ohio; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 12, 1999 Nick N. Montoya DUMAS - Nick N. Montoya, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Scully officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Montoya was born in Miera, N.M., and moved to Stratford in 1971. He moved to Dumas in August. Mr. Montoya served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for two years when he was honorably discharged. He was a farmer. He married Lala Alarid in 1941 at Miera. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Montoya, in 1986. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Pat Montoya of Pampa, Pete Montoya of St. Francis, Kan., and Herman Montoya of Dumas; two daughters, Susie Hogan and Mary Jane Gonzales, both of Dumas; two brothers, Margarito Montoya and Joe Montoya, both of Clayton, N.M.; two sisters, Lucy Padilla and Pita Maestas, both of Clayton; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 114 N. Klein. They suggest memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 12, 1999 Lowell Lambert Thomas PAMPA - Lowell Lambert Thomas, 65, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999. Cremation and arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. No services are planned. Mr. Thomas was born in Holton, Mich. He lived in Wheeler for 18 years before moving to Pampa a year ago. Mr. Thomas was employed in the oil drilling industry as a tool pusher. From 1951 until 1954, he served in the Navy. He married Ardith Stowers in 1960 at Ringgold, Ga. Survivors include Ardith Thomas of Pampa; a son, Timothy Thomas of Bastrop; two brothers, Charles Thomas of Whitehall, Mich., and Orville Thomas of Muskegon, Mich.; two sisters, Delores Rich of El Reno, Okla., and Evelyn Place of Green Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He moved to Lockney from Aiken community in 1985. In 1993, he graduated from Lockney High School. In 1997, Mr. Jones received his certification as a nurses aide and was attending licensed vocational nurse school at South Plains College. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Floydada.
