Arnold CLOVIS, N.M. - Charlotte E. Arnold, 99, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with Curtis Tabor, elder, officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Arnold was born in Bell County and in 1908, moved to Clovis, where her family were homesteaders. She was a charter member of the 16th and Pile Church of Christ. She married Cotton Arnold in 1938 at Clovis. He preceded her in death. Survivors include six nieces; two nephews; and a sister-in-law. The family will be at 2129 Castle Court and suggests memorials be to Key to the Kingdom, c/o 16th and Pile Church of Christ. Wilma Hamric Moss CLOVIS, N.M. - Wilma Hamric Moss, 91, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Moss was born in Clay County, W.V. She moved to Clovis in 1988. She was a member of the 16th and Pile Church of Christ. Her husband, Dennis Moss, died in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Lucille McBride of Clovis; two sisters, Dallis Eppley of Ohio and Freda Moore of West Virginia; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Gladys Mae Key BEAVER, Okla. - Gladys Mae Key, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Elmhurst Cemetery followed by memorial services at 2 p.m. in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, and the Rev. Bobby Howard, pastor of Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. Key was born in Beaver County near Boyd and completed fourth grade in a rural Beaver school. She completed her education in Goodwell. She attended Panhandle Agricultural Institute and attained a lifetime teaching certificate. She taught in Fulton and the Guymon school system. Mrs. Key was a member of the Sigma Phi club, Guymon Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 419 and Victory Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and assisted with the annual church bazaar. She was active in preparations for the annual Pioneer Days celebrations. In 1956, Mrs. Key and her husband moved to the family homestead in Beaver County where they farmed and operated a dairy. She continued to run the farm after his death. She married Clyde Key in 1931. He died in 1978. Survivors include two daughters, Dorla Summars of Woodward and Mary Caruthers of Jonesborough, Tenn; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 until 9 p.m. today and Monday morning at the funeral home. Cordia Lee Humble HOOKER, Okla. - Cordia Lee Humble, 94, died Sept. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Don Gibson and Eddy Scoggins officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Humble was born in Old Hansford, now called Spearman, and attended Neff School. She later graduated from Liberal High School in Liberal, Kan., and worked as a hairdresser after attending beauty school in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hooker. She married John Fred Humble in 1928. He died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Schwieger and Madgealeen Burgess, and a grandson, Mike Thurman. Survivors include two sons, John M. Humble and Frank L. Humble, both of Hooker; four brothers, Herbert Parsons of Falls Church, Va., Earnest Parsons of Citrus Heights, Calif., Jeff Parsons of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Travers Parsons of Wanette; seven grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Viley Pearl Reed ELK CITY, Okla. - Viley Pearl Reed, 91, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery. Mrs. Reed was born near Eufala, Okla. She moved to Briscoe, Texas, from Doxey in 1929, and to Elk City from Dempsey in 1973. She married Cleave N. Reed in 1928 at Doxey. He died in 1978. Survivors include three sons, L.G. Reed of Wheeler and Alvie Joe Reed and Cleavie Leon Reed, both of Elk City; three daughters, Dora Fay Bryan of Amarillo, Joy Smith of Clinton and Sherry Lynn Carpenter of Yukon; a brother, Jewel Stevens of Merced, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 12 greatgreat-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Edith Ford Cemetery in Canadian, Texas. Arrangements are by Miller Mortuary in Liberal. Mr. Andrews was born in Strickler, Ark., and moved to Canadian as a young boy. He was employed as a roughneck in the oil fields. In 1955, he moved to Liberal and was in the water well business for 35 years. Mr. Andrews owned and operated the Andrews Well Service. In 1995, he retired after five years with National Beef Packing Co. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He married Mary Lee Crosier in 1952 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include three sons, Kenny and Michael Andrews, both of Liberal, and Danny Andrews of Junction City; two sisters, Wilma Olsen of Liberal and Wanda Cook of Canadian; and eight grandchildren. He graduated from Texas Tech in 1997 and owned and operated C&C Towing and Recovery. He was a Catholic. He married Irene Gonzalez in 1979 at Hereford. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Cole was born in Whitney and lived in Crosbyton for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. In 1997, she moved to Amarillo. She married Fronie Cole in 1921 at Crosbyton. Survivors include a daughter, Lela Mae Sykes of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and great-greatgrandchildren. David Osborn ROARING SPRINGS - David Osborn, 61, of Odessa, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rickey Lawrence, pastor of Roaring Springs Full Gospel Church officiating. Burial will be in Roaring Springs Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Osborn was born in Embudo, N.M., and raised in Roaring Springs, where he graduated from Roaring Springs High School. He worked as a completion specialist for an oil field supply company and had lived in Odessa for several years. He was a member of the Baptist church. He married Doris Martin in 1968. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brent Osborn of Breckenridge and Shane Osborn and Gerald Osborn, both of Odessa; a sister, Linda Amstutz of Washington; and a grandchild. Area Helen Burelsmith TULIA - Helen Burelsmith, 81, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999. Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Wilborn of the church and Jim Lacy of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Burelsmith was born in Enterprize, Okla., and moved to Vernon in 1925 where she attended schools. In 1948, she moved to Petersburg, then moved to Tulia in 1955. Mrs. Burelsmith was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a 35-year member of both the Home Artist Club and Elkins Home Demonstration Club and a volunteer for the Good Shepard Christian Outreach Center. She married D.S. Burelsmith in 1939 at Vernon. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sherry Malone of Tulia; a son, David Burelsmith of Mabank; two sisters, Ellen Wilder of Bonham and Analee Stanley of Oceanside, Calif.; a brother, Ed Simpkins of Pomona, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Frizzell was born in Ponder and moved to Floyd County in 1917. She attended schools in Sterley and Lone Star then graduated from Lockney High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star, Lone Star Home Demonstration Club, First Baptist Church and Women's Missionary Union. She married Hubert E. Frizzell in 1936 at Lockney. Amarillo Robert Littleton Barber Robert Littleton Barber, 77, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999. Burial will be in Muleshoe Cemetery in Muleshoe by Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home of Lone Wolf, Okla. Mr. Barber was born in Lubbock and attended school in Lazbuddie and Muleshoe. From 1942 until 1946, he served in the Army where he received the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge. For more than 30 years, Mr. Barber worked for Foster Fertilizer Co. He was a farmer and a member of Church of Christ. He married Alice Marie Hagan in 1975 at Lazbuddie. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Robert Leslie Barber of Dalhart, Jerry Lynn Barber of Lazbuddie, Bill J. Hill of Dumas, Bobby C. He married Lula Maude Gilliam in 1928 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter, Carole Vermillion, both in 1989. Mr. Cave was born in Dalhart and raised in Amarillo. He attended West Texas State University and Utah State University and was a veteran of the Marine Corps. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Diana Kathleen Gibson Diana Kathleen Gibson, 48, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Carl Neal of Grace Baptist Church in Shidler, Okla., officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Ms. Gibson was born in Amarillo and attended Amarillo College. She worked for Amarillo College and for Diamond Shamrock. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter in 1998. Survivors include a son, Derek Blanton of Amarillo; two daughters, Stacy Adlong and Erin Gibson, both of Amarillo; her father, J.K. Moss of Amarillo; her mother, Jean Avery Moss of Amarillo; two brothers, David Moss and Tim Moss, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Sam Moss of Amarillo, Becky Moss of Carrollton and Lisa Naranjo of Austin; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, Olivia's Angels, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001. Eula Reynolds Eula "Ove" Reynolds, 87, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Norris, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Reynolds was born in Prairie Grove, Ark., and moved to Amarillo in 1941 from Clarendon. She was a homemaker and the last living charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Lone Star Motherin-Law Club, where she was a former Mother-in-Law of the Year. She married Lloyd L. Reynolds in 1929 at Hollis, Okla. He died in 1958. She was also preceded in death by a son, Raymond Reynolds, in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Ball of Amarillo; two sons, Bill Reynolds of San Antonio and Don Reynolds of Amarillo; a brother, Duel McCracken of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at 6109 Princeton and suggests memorials be to Immanuel Baptist Church, 937 N. Mirror, Amarillo, TX 79107. Mozell Montague Carter Mozell Montague Carter, 72, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Plainview Cemetery in Plainview with the Rev. Arnold Holley, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mrs. Mozell was born in Plainview and was a homemaker. She was also a volunteer certified fire fighter for both the TBC Volunteer Fire Department and Potter County Volunteer Fire Department. She married Ralph E. Carter in 1944 at Portales, N.M. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Carter of Concord, N.C., and Steve L. Carter of Amarillo; two brothers, Gid Montague of Tulia and Clyde Montague of Clovis, N.M.; three sisters, Opal Grimes of Morton and Peggy Parkey and Mayrene Betts, both of Portales, N.M.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center; or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice Care Unit. Morna Ree Parks Morna Ree Parks, 76, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday with Mr. Bill Goodwin of East Amarillo Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Parks was born in Lakeview and graduated from Cement High School in Cement, Okla., in 1941. She moved to Amarillo from Oklahoma City in 1985, when she retired from the U.S. Civil Service. While living in Amarillo, she was a member of Amarillo Church of Christ and commuted to Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, where she was employed. She was active with the church and with youth organizations. Survivors include two brothers, E.J. Parks of San Antonio and Clyde Harold Parks of Amarillo; and three sisters, Ima Lee Popp of Sharon Springs, Kan., Willie Mae DuBois of Lubbock and Minnie Bell Settle of Russell, Kan. The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home.
