Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Samples, retired minister, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens at Plainview by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Mahagan attended schools in Ellen. He moved to Floyd County in 1972 from Plainview. He was a Baptist and a member of Elks Lodge 1175 in Plainview. He was a Baptist. He married Annie Collene Dipprey in 1953 at Plainview. She died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Ronald Mahagan of Plainview; two daughters, Vonda McLaughlin of Lockney and Licinda Torrez of Commerce; two brothers, L.G. Main St., Lockney, TX 79241. Ruby Megee DALHART - Ruby Megee, 93, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Dalhart Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Lowrie, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Megee was born and raised in Pierce, Okla. She attended schools in McIntosh County. She moved with her family to Hitchita, Okla., in 1920. She graduated in 1924 from Vernon High School and attended college in Tahlequah, Okla. She taught school in McIntosh County from 1926 to 1930. She was a member of Dalhart First Baptist Church. She married E.W. Megee in 1930 at Eufaula, Oka. They moved to Dalhart in 1932. He died in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Delores Clark of Marshall; and two sisters, Lola Morgan of Claremore, Okla., and Edith Wells of Tulsa, Okla. The family requests memorials be to the First Baptist Church Library. Bufford Morris QUANAH - Bufford Morris, 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Spangler and the Rev. Clinton Young officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was born in Tolbert and was a lifetime resident of Hardeman and Wilbarger counties. He served in World War II and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Morris married Betty Quisenberry in 1949 in Tolbert. He worked in the Quanah stockyards for 20 years and for Georgia Pacific for seven years. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a son, Emmitt Dewayne Morris in 1997; five sisters; and four brothers. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mary Roberson of Amarillo, and Betty Mobley and Peggy Colbert, both of Quanah; a son, Tommy Morris of Vian, Okla.; two sisters, Verda Babin of Louisiana and Gerry Odom of Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Constance Combs PERRYTON - Constance Combs, 79, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. Services will be at 10 am. Thursday in Lloyd James Chapel in Tyler with David Earl Combs officiating. Mrs. Combs was born in Bois D'Arc and had lived in Tyler for one month, moving from Perryton. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Perryton for 11 years. She was a member of the Nazarene church. Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Combs. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Roach was born in Lefors and had lived in the Perryton area since 1969. She was a retired nurse, having worked at Senior Village Nursing Home for several years and Ochiltree General Hospital for 19 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She married Roger Roach in 1946 in Heald. He died in 1995. Mrs. Roach also was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Rhea; and a granddaughter, Johanna Roach. Survivors include two sons, Roger Troy Roach of Hanford, Calif., and Jeffrey Shawn Roach of Dallas; three daughters, Charlotte Ann Butler of Aurora, Colo., Nelda Rose Hudson of Pampa and Sherrie Eileen Rima of Perryton; a sister, Exie Laura Carrick of Fritch; a brother, John Owen Rhea of Auburn, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was born in Alva and had lived in the Spearman area for 38 years, moving from Dumas. She married Willard Davis in 1962 in Dumas. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse, having worked at Hansford Hospital and Pioneer Manor. She was a member of First Christian Church, Hansford Hospital Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Christian Women's Fellowship and Golden Spread Senior Citizens Center. She served as ombudsman for several area nursing homes. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Ann Temple of Spearman and Mickey Gribble of Centralia, Wash.; a son, Ned Davis of Denver; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Lois Lucas Long GUYMON, Okla. - Lois Lucas Long, 87, of Prairie Village, Kan., and a former longtime Texas County resident, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Henson-Novak Funeral Home of Guymon. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church by the Rev. Phillip Lindley and the Rev. Scott Adams. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon. Mrs. Long was born in Plainview, Texas, and lived in Guymon until 1934 when she married Stephen Lucas. They lived in Scott City, Kan., until his death in 1940. She returned to Guymon and later married George Long of Optima in 1947. They lived in Guymon and Tyrone until they built their home on a farm near Optima. Mr. Long died in 1982. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Guymon, where she was active in PTA and was a 4-H leader for many years. She also was preceded in death by a son, Patrick A. Lucas. Survivors include two daughters, Sally Angel of St. Mary's, Ohio, and Fran Larsen of Woodbridge, Va.; three sons, Stephen Lucas of Baton Rouge, La., George M. Long of Westwood, Kan., and Jim Long of Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, Wendell Grimm of Oklahoma City; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Amarillo Floy L. Isham Floy L. Isham, 74, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. Mrs. Isham was born in Kirkland. She graduated from Amarillo High School and was a past member of Paramount Baptist Church. She worked as an office manager at Newberry's for 15 years before going to work for SPS, where she retired in 1986. She married David Isham in 1947. Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Nolan Vahn Thomas of San Jose, Calif., and J.M. Thomas of Dallas; and five sisters, Loretta Hodnett of Canyon, Margaret Allen of Lubbock, Genette Hixson of Great Falls, Mont., Geneva Schumann of Houston and Cleo L. Ashton of Fullerton, Calif. Zella I. Shehi Zella I. Shehi, 106, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano East Cemetery with the Rev. Dewey P. Newburn of Forest Hill Assembly of God officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Shehi was born in 1892 at Wamego, Kan. She moved to Amarillo 25 years ago from Kansas City, Kan. She was a homemaker and a member of Forest Hill Assembly of God Church. She is survived by a son, Jack Mitchell of Amarillo. The family will be at 317 Ramada Trail. Dr. Carl M. Lang Dr. Carl M. Lang, 78, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999. Vigil services will be at 7:30 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Thomas the Apostle with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Dr. Lang was born in Charlottesville, Va. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia in 1943. He served his internship at Columbia/Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and completed his residency in surgery at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minn. He served in the Medical Corps during World War II. In 1951, Dr. Lang moved to Pampa, where he worked at the Overton Clinic. He joined the Medical Arts Clinic in 1963 and opened a private practice in 1966. In 1975, after closing his practice, Dr. Lang became plant physician at the Pantex Plant and served as medical director until 1991. He also served as the district chairman for the Disaster Liaison for the PotterRandall Medical Society to the Texas State Department of Health. In 1982, he received letters of commendation for supervising the evacuation of the Olsen Manor Nursing Home in Amarillo during the Lawrence Lake Flood. Dr. Lang retired from Mason and Hanger in 1997. Dr. Lang was a member of several professional organizations. In Pampa, Dr. Lang served on the staff at Highland General Hospital, two terms as chief of staff, chairman of the intensive care unit and director of the coronary care unit from 1971 to 1975. Dr. Lang also served as director of the Pampa Community Concert Association 1955 to 1959; board of directors for Gray County Red Cross and the American Cancer Society; co-organizer and a board member of the Pampa Fine Arts Association; vice president of the Gray County Chapter of the American Heart Association; and board of directors of Frank Phillips College, School of Vocational Nursing. He was a lifetime member of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and a member of Gideons International. He married Gerda Rene Manglus in 1965 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Carl Lang Jr. of Michigan, Ron Lang and Tabor Lang, both of Amarillo, and Mark Lang of Pampa; two daughters, Marieke Kreps of Florida and Nicole Lang-Carter of Amarillo; and 13 grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Program in Amarillo. John C. Sobieski John C. Sobieski, 82, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Georgia St. Mr. Sobieski was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Pomona, Calif., in 1959. In 1975, he moved to Albuquerque, N.M., where he lived for 22 years. He moved to Amarillo more than a year ago. He was a retired postal carrier with 28 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, AARP, the National Association of Letter Carriers and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Mildred Duckro in 1942 at Dayton. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Marcia E. Mooney of Gardnerville, Nev., Marilyn E. Honea of Amarillo, Peggy E. Bingham of Garland and Janice C. Lee of Upland, Calif.; a son, Jon C. Sobieski of Newbury Park, Calif.; a sister, Angela Birt of Dayton; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Joyce N. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Billy Aubrey Davis Billy Aubrey Davis, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Private services will be held by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Davis was born in Slaton. He married Flora Modene Jackson in 1935. Mr. Davis lived in Seminole for several years, operating a ranch and feed store. He later moved to Durango, Colo., where he owned and operated a motel. After moving to Amarillo, he was self-employed. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim D. Brooks of Lancaster County, Pa., and Billy Ray Davis of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mary Kathryn Cheshire Mary Kathryn Carroll Cheshire, 67, of Amarillo died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. She was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ross Cheshire of Georgia; a daughter, D'Anne Cheshire of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Children's Home. New Mexico Sarah Ellen Wikoff RATON, N.M. - Sarah Ellen Wikoff, 89, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clayton Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Ramage officiating. Arrangements are by Errington Memorial Chapel. Ms. Wikoff was born in Burtrand, Okla. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1927 and attended Panhandle A&M and Central State College in Edmond, Okla. She taught school in the Clayton area for 15 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Raton, Queen Esther Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Daughter of the Nile Yucca Temple 74, and a member of Colonel Aide-De-Camp of the Governor of New Mexico. Survivors include special friends, Roy and Lorene Grob of Raton; five nieces; and three nephews. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to the Eastern Star in Raton.
