Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Quanah Memorial Park with the Rev. Danny West, minister of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Henson was born in Vasti. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Northern France. Mr. Henson had lived in Quanah for 55 years where he was a brick mason. He was a Baptist, a member of the VFW Post 10355, and past post commander of the American Legion. He married Vivian Golden in 1935 at Colorado City. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nancy Combs of Tolar and Joann Dehtan of Eldorado, Okla; a son, W.H. Henson of Quanah; a sister, Edrie Liggett of Bowie; nine grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Lovie W. Thompson PAMPA - Lovie W. "Tommie" Thompson, 92, died Thursday, June 10, 1999. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Ouray, Colo. The body was cremated and will not be available for viewing. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Thompson was born in Christoval. In 1931, she graduated with the third graduating class from Texas Tech University. She was a homemaker. She married Elmer David Thompson in 1931 at San Angelo. He died in 1974. Survivors include a daughter, Rudelle Rand of Pampa; a son, Ronald David Thompson of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Flossie L. Ivy Miles HEREFORD - Flossie L. Ivy Miles, 98, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home with Gene Miles of Santa Ana, Calif., officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Miles was born in Hunt County and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1925 from Collin County. She was a homemaker and a member of Avenue Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, the 40 et 8 Auxiliary and Hereford Senior Citizens. She married Eules B. "Slick" Miles in 1919 at Collin County. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973 and by two sons, Major I.F. Miles, in 1991, and James M. Miles, in 1993. Survivors include three sons, Gene Miles of Santa Ana, Tech/Sgt. Wallace H. Miles of Holliday and Francis Miles of Hillsboro, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. L.L. "Rusty" Baker of Childress; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Annie Lewis EARTH - Annie Lewis, 89, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Earth Church of Christ with King Burney, minister, and Wilburn Dennis of Littlefield officiating. Burial was in Earth Memorial Cemetery by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home of Earth. Mrs. Lewis was born in Nolan County and moved to Earth in 1927 from Paducah. She was a member of the Earth Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She married Virgil Lee Lewis in 1927 at Chalk County. He died in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Truman Lewis of Lubbock and Melvin Lewis of Fort Worth; two daughters, Neleen Dent of Muleshoe and Linda Johnson of Pampa; two sisters, Lela Whitener of Amarillo and Virgie Springer of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Jesus was born in Lockney where he was a lifelong resident. He attended Lockney school where he was a freshman at Lockney High School. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Robert Johnny and Yolanda Lopez of Lockney; four brothers, Robert, Eulalio, Augustine and Joe Lopez, all of Lockney; two sisters, Andrea and Monica Lopez, both of Lockney; and a grandfather, Cosmo Gonzalez of Lockney. C.L. Bolch PAMPA - C.L. Bolch, 90, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Bolch was born in Morris County and moved to Pampa in 1978. For several years he farmed in Terry and Lynn Counties and was produce manager for United Supermarkets in Lubbock before his retirement in the late 1970s. He was a past member of the O'Donnell Masonic Lodge and a member of Central Baptist Church. He married Allie Tyler in 1933 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Bettie L. Edwards of El Centro, Calif., and Myrna "Sunshine" Lias of Germantown, Tenn.; a son, Travis Bolch of Pampa; five grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Central Baptist Church; or a favorite charity. Verdell E. King BORGER - Verdell E. King, 85, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. King was born in Wainwright, Okla., and lived in Phillips and Borger for 60 years. She was a housewife, a former credit manager for Sears and a member of Johnson Park Church of Christ. Two sons, Robert "Bob" King and Phillip King, died in 1995. She married Robert Dial King in 1934 at Weleetka, Okla. Survivors include her husband; four sisters, Joyce Hunter of Borger, Pat Fleming of Perryton, Pauline Moore of Dumas and Viola Taylor of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Vera Faye Blair CHILDRESS - Vera Faye Blair, 87, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Mrs. Blair was born in Loco, Okla., and was a former resident of Memphis. She worked as a cook in a public school cafeteria and was a member of Childress Church of Christ. She married Wilbur E. Blair in 1942 at Childress. He died in 1997. Survivors include three sisters, Vivian Jones of Childress, Juanita Hein of Oakdale, Calif., and Lois Pace of Bellevue. Richard Allen McEntire PLAINVIEW - Richard Allen McEntire, 46, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Chapel Hill Memorial Park in San Antonio by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. McEntire was born in Hobbs, N.M., and grew up in San Antonio, where he graduated from high school. He graduated from the University of Houston and was a member of College Heights Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school. In 1994, he moved to Plainview, where he worked for K-mart Pharmacy. He married Corinne Fennell in 1990 at Corpus Christi. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melissa Langan of El Paso and Rebecca Falk of Allen Lake, Ill.; a son, Christopher Guinn of Plainview; his parents, Loran and Wilta Bea McEntire; a sister, Joyce Bolton of Wimberley; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Lee was born in Coryell County and moved to Dimmitt in 1972 from Summerfield. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Carl Lee in 1929. He died in 1972. E.W. Tyler CLARENDON - E.W. "Dub" Tyler, 76, died Saturday, June 12, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Truman Ledbetter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Tyler was born in Brice, Hall County, and was a resident of Claude before moving to Clarendon in 1942. He served with the Navy during World War II and worked for the Postal Service until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Lea West in 1946 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Barry Tyler of Wimberly and Ted Tyler of Lubbock; a brother, Gene Tyler of Rockwall; three sisters, Nell Vitarelle, Luceil Jones and Hazel Campbell, all of Clarendon; and six grandchildren. Melvin O. Treider LAZBUDDIE - Melvin O. Treider, 80, died Saturday, June 12, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe with the Rev. Louis Crenshaw, of Tatum, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Lazbuddie Cemetery. Mr. Treider was born in Lazbuddie and lived in the community from 1919 until 1970. From 1990 until 1997, he lived in Denison. He was a farmer and served with the Army during World War II. He was a prisoner of war in Japan for 31/2 years and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He married Anita Bewley in 1947 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Treider of Midlothian and Mel Treider of Arlington; two sisters, Clara Brown of Carlsbad, N.M., and Gladys Cheyne of Animas, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Disabled American Veterans. Thomas Wayne Meek WHEELER - Thomas Wayne Meek, 72, died Saturday, June 12, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gageby Cemetery at Gageby by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Meek was born in Wheeler and graduated from Briscoe High School. He was a farmer and rancher and was a resident of Hemphill County for most of his life. He was a member of Gageby Baptist Church. He married Tola Fay Bynum in 1962 at Stinnett. She died in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Kevin Meek of Canadian and Keith Meek of Lubbock; a brother, J.P. Meek of Briscoe; two sisters, Lois Meadows of Briscoe and Lola Cypers of Odessa; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Briscoe Ex-Students Scholarship Fund. Amarillo John Thomas Morris John Thomas Morris, 96, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 10, 1999. Graveside services were at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Walton officiating. Arrangements were by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Morris was born in Lone Oak and moved to Amarillo in 1936 from McLean. In 1976, he retired as a truck driver. He was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. He married Ruby Stuart in 1934 at Childress. She died in 1989. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Lois Drown of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and two nephews. The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home. Leroy G. Cunningham Leroy G. "Buck" Cunningham, 75, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 10, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Jerry Klein, minister of Comanche Trail Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Cunningham was born in Ava, Mo., and lived in Amarillo for 50 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gean Cunningham, in 1994 and by two sons, Keith Cunningham and Barry Lynn Cunningham. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Harrell of Canyon and Cindy Griffin of Amarillo; two sisters, Maxine McCormick of Richardson and Fredia of Tulsa; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friend and daughter-inlaw, Evelyn Knighton. The body will not be available for viewing. The family suggests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association. Evelyn M. Hudspeth Evelyn M. Hudspeth, 76, died Friday, June 11, 1999. She was a homemaker and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels Program. She married Clayton Lee Hudspeth in 1954. He died in 1991. Her daughter, Jacqueline Fails, died in 1996. Randolph Hunt Randolph "Randy" Hunt, 85, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Wellington. Mr. Hunt was born in Dodson, lived in Wellington until 1975 and moved to Amarillo in 1992. He worked in the agricultural industry and was the owner/ operator of Hunt Spray Service. He served in the 308th Signal Corp with the Army during World War II. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Hunt of Shawnee, Okla.; two daughters, Linda Heltzen of Phoenix and Kathy Tomerlin of Dudleyville, Ariz.; two sisters, Doris Maurine Carman of Shalimar, Fla., and Bettye Conant of Wellington; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. New Mexico Norris N. McPherson CLOVIS, N.M. - Norris N. "Big Mac" McPherson, 72, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred R. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories with military honors by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. McPherson was born in Clarksville and was a retired custodian for the Clovis public schools. He served with the Army during World War II and was a local musician who recorded with numerous groups and played with "Big Mac and the Little Fish" throughout the area and the Bill Case Combo in Clovis. He was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, where he served as the church pianist, and of AARP and VFW Post No. 3015. He married Georgia Johnson in 1951. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Frederick Johnson of Clovis and Freddie English of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Claude McPherson of Clovis and Lige McPherson of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Geneva Williams of Mesa and Helene J. Mondy of Portland, Ore; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Vernon A. Allen CLOVIS, N.M. - Vernon A. Allen, 84, died Friday, June 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Willie Tollison and Wendel Powers officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Allen was born in Byron, Okla., and moved to Wellington when he was young. From 1937 until 1977, he worked as a conductor for the Santa Fe Railway. He was a member of the Go-Go Sams, United Transportation Union and 16th and Pile Church of Christ. He married Opal Morris in 1936. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tyler Allen of Amarillo; three daughters, Judy Powers and Jan Hamilton, both of Clovis, and Linda Smith of Orland, Calif.; two brothers, Jay Allen of Belen, N.M., and Ted Allen of California; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Lee Ogilvie CLOVIS, N.M. - Lee Ogilvie, 65, died Saturday, June 12, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in 16th and Pile Church of Christ with Stacy McCasland and Ted Ogilvie officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Ogilvie was born in Columbus, Ind. For 30 years, he lived in Clovis, where he coached and umpired Little League baseball and for 22 years worked for Cummin's Engine as a diesel mechanic. He served with the Army during the Korean War and was a member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ. His son, Todd Ogilvie, died in 1984. He married Charlotte Freese in 1953 at Edinburg, Ind. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tom L. Ogilvie, Tim Ogilvie, both of Clovis and Ted Ogilvie of Corinth; a brother, Sam Ogilvie of Columbus, Ind.; two half sisters, Christine Welmer and Florence Walesby, both of Columbus; and four grandchildren. Oklahoma Nellie Thrasher TEXHOMA, Okla. - Nellie Thrasher, 84, died Thursday, June 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church of Texhoma with Mike Dumler officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery by DawsonWelch Funeral Home. Mrs. Thrasher was born in Texhoma. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church. She married Charlie Thrasher in 1936 at Boise City. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987 and by a son, Donald Joe, in 1979. Survivors include a son, Dean Thrasher of Texhoma; a daughter, LaNell Ellis of Texhoma; a brother, Arval Fleming of Texhoma; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chaney was born in Okfuskee, Okla., and moved to Wilbarger County in 1953. She attended the Church of God in Vernon. She married John Earick Chaney in 1939 at Paducah. He died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by a daughter and two grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Lenora "Len" Steinman of Vernon and Patricia Keel of McMinnville, Tenn.; a son, J.E. Chaney of Vernon; three stepchildren; two sisters, Juanita Chaney of Paducah and Vivian Sadsy of California; four half sisters; two half brothers; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
