Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel of Pampa with the Rev. Lewis Ellis, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lefors, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery at Lefors. Mrs. Prescott was born in Wheeler. She moved to Lefors in 1978 from Salt Lake City where she was a photo finisher for almost 20 years. In Lefors, she was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Robert Webb in 1945 at Wheeler. He died in 1967. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Karen Jenson of Salt Lake City; her mother, Eula Coleman of Lefors; two sisters, Faye Nunn of Lefors and Maye Michelson of Salt Lake City; three brothers, L.B. Coleman of Salt Lake City, Stanley Coleman of Pampa and Wayne Coleman of Miami; four stepgrandsons; and 11 stepgreatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Lung Association, 3520 Executive Center Dr., Suite G-100, Austin, TX 78731-1606. Harold G. Arnold HEREFORD - Harold G. Arnold, 85, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Fuller, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Mr. Arnold was born in Norwalk, Iowa. In 1965, he retired as master sergeant from the Air Force after 25 years of service. He was in both World War II and the Korean War. In 1965, he moved to Hereford from Amarillo Air Force Base. Mr. Arnold was member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Hereford Senior Citizens and a former member of the Amarillo Bowling League. He married Bertha Vannoy in 1958 at Laredo Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Ruth Payne. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mildred Bock of Auburn, Ind.; a stepson, Paul Post of Auburn; a grandson; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Senior Citizens. Lorenza Ortiz Escobar BORGER - Lorenza Ortiz Escobar, 52, died Friday, March 12, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in United Pentecostal Church of Borger with the Rev. Josias Limones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Garden in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Escobar was born in Juarez, Mexico, and had been a Borger resident for 20 years. She was a homemaker and member of the United Pentecostal Church. She married Carlos Escobar 36 years ago at Juarez. Survivors include her husband; eight sons, Carlos Escobar Jr., Ramon Escobar, Alfredo Escobar, Martin Escobar, Armando Escobar, David Escobar, Victor Escobar and Arturo Escobar, all of Borger; a stepson, Rito Escobar of Juarez; four daughters, Lidia Escobar, Yolanda Fernandez, Ana Rodriguez and Hilda Escobar, all of Borger; a brother, Manuel Ortiz of Borger; a sister, Maria Martinez of Borger; and 14 grandchildren. R. Floyd Moss BORGER - R. Floyd Moss, 88, died Friday, March 12, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor of First Baptist Church in Borger, officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Dozier Cemetery in Dozier. A longtime Borger resident, Mr. Moss was a native of Wheeler County. He served for four years in the Army Air Corps after graduating from high school in Shamrock. In 1975, Mr. Moss retired as payroll and warehouse clerk for Phillips Petroleum Co., where he worked at the Philblack Plant for a number of years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Borger. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mattie Moss of Lancaster; a niece; and five nephews. Ella Lee Kinsey VEGA - Ella Lee Kinsey, 89, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Vega First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Lee Roark, director of pastoral care with Baptist St. Anthony's Health System, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Kinsey was born in Indian Territory and had lived in Vega since 1937. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church and Eastern Star No. 528 where she was a past matron. She was a past member of Daughters of the Nile, Avihk Temple No. 70. She married Henry Kinsey in 1926 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981 and by a son, Gene Kinsey, in 1998. Survivors include two sons, Marion Kinsey of Amarillo and Frank Kinsey of Vega; a daughter, Laverne McKandless of Gustine; a sister, Opal Nelson of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, in Amarillo and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church in Vega. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Park Cemetery, Box 496, Vega, TX 79092. Sam G. Martin TULIA - Sam G. Martin, 96, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Wagner, pastor of Bible Baptist Temple of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Martin was born and raised in Calvert where he attended schools. After living in Tulia for several years, he moved to Amarillo where he worked as an auto mechanic for Hedgecock Motor Co. He also was a reserve policeman. Mr. Martin lived in Amarillo for 53 years and then moved to Alabama in 1996. In 1998, he moved to Virginia where he was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fisherville. He married Martha Evelyn Green in 1934 at Tulia. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Perkins and Rita Taylor, both of Amarillo; a son, Don Martin of Waynesboro, Va.; a sister, Ona Graft of Uvalde; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Amarillo Loyd Lynn Whiteley Loyd Lynn Whiteley, 78, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Chaplain Keith Boutwell of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center officiating. Arrangements are by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Whiteley was a retired carrier for the U.S. Post Office. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the 69th Infantry Club. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Whiteley, in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Lynn Singer of Spring Branch and Helen "Kellie" Perkins of Amarillo; two sons, Rocky Tyler of Amarillo and Morgan Whiteley of Quitman; a brother, James R. Whiteley of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. They will be at 1001 N. Highland St. Anna Pauline Currin Anna Pauline Currin, 88, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Memphis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Memphis by Memphis Funeral Home of Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Currin was born in Caddo Mills and moved to Amarillo in 1999 from Memphis. She had been the owner of the Western Motel at Memphis and was a member of First Baptist Church of Memphis. She married Roy S. Currin in 1926 in Collin County. He died in 1968. Survivors include a son, Bill Currin of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church at Memphis or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center of Amarillo. Alfred E. Parrish Alfred E. Parrish, 72, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth, with the Rev. Allen Norris officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Parrish was born in Bayonne, N.J., and was an Army veteran. He was employed for more than 15 years as a security guard for Advance Security. In the early 1960s, he married Edith Kennedy who preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Striley of Amarillo, Diana Bryant of Quanah and Trish Hughes of Illinois; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Ericka Jo Olivarez Ericka Jo Olivarez, infant daughter of Jolene Oliverez of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Tulia. Prayer services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. John Salazar-Jimenez, pastor of the Church of the Holy Spirit, will officiate. Miss Olivarez was born in February in Amarillo. Survivors include her mother; her twin brother, Erick Scottie Olivarez of the home; and her grandmother, Henrietta Olivarez of Amarillo. Rosalie Bryan Rosalie Bryan, 73, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 12, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Burkhalter, pastor of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Bryan was born and raised in Amarillo where she attended Amarillo High School. She was a homemaker. She married Jack "Red" Bryan in 1941 at Clovis. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jack "Pete" Bryan and Dennis Bryan, both of Amarillo; a sister, Lula Fae Ross of Dallas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 919 Alta Vista. Elsewhere Irene B. Alba PECOS - Irene B. Alba, 70, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Pecos Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop John Swanson. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Alba was born in Del Rio. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include four sons, David Alba of El Paso, Humberto Alba of San Diego, Armando Alba of Sullivan City and Marion Alba of Pecos; three daughters, Anna C. Lewis of Amarillo, Gloria Rubio of Midland and Irene Alba of Pecos; 25 grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.
