Born in Vici, Okla., Mrs. Easterwood lived in Dimmitt from 1949 until 1967, when she moved to Sulphur Springs. She moved to Amarillo in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship of Believers at Hereford. She married Carl W. Eastwood in 1946 at Raton, N.M. He died in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Madrid of Broomfield, Colo., and Carla Belkman of Westminster, Colo.; two sons, Paul Easterwood of Houston and Rex Easterwood of Hereford; a sister, Gwen Fassauer of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Glen West Glen "Curley" West, 89, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 9, 1999. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Shaw Memorial Chapel at Vici, Okla. Burial was in Vassar Cemetery. Mr. West was born in Canadian. He worked in the heavy construction business, building tunnels throughout the United States and other parts of the world. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 12. He married Minnie Jonkers in 1931 at Plankinton, S.D. She preceded him in death. After his wife's death, Mr. West moved to Woodward, Okla., where he lived until moving to Amarillo in March. Survivors include two nephews and two nieces, including Marlene B. Rowland of Mesa, Ariz. Melissa Pearl Curry Melissa Pearl Curry, 86, formerly of Amarillo, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, in Abilene. Mrs. Curry was born and raised in Parker County, where she also attended school. She married Curtis Clarence Curry in 1938 at Weatherford. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Church of Christ in Abilene and Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo. She recently moved back to Abilene after living in Amarillo for 23 years. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Duke of Abilene; a son, Dr. John Curry of Amarillo; two sisters, Edith Bradley and Stella Mize, both of Weatherford; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Myrtle Haas Myrtle Haas, 76, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. She also had worked for an insurance agency in Plainview. She was a longtime member of Insurance Women of Texas. She also was a member of First Baptist churches in Amarillo, Borger and Muleshoe. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Rogers of Amarillo and Wanda Wiley of Muleshoe; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Hughes St. Miss Washington was born in Amarillo. She attended Amarillo public schools and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1997. She attended Amarillo College and majored in social services. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, where she served in the Young Adult Sunday School Class, the Baptist Young Women's Group and the church choir. She also was a member of AJSO and Delta Debs and was first runner-up in the Miss Juneteenth Pageant. Mrs. Roach was born in Wellington and had been a lifelong Amarillo resident. She was self-employed. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Kenneth M. Renfro CLAYTON, N.M. - Kenneth M. Renfro, 78, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church at Des Moines with the Rev. Michael R. Hensley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Raton, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery at Raton by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Renfro was born in Grayson County, Texas, and moved to New Mexico when he was 13. He married Sadie Ruth Brown in 1942 at Bernalillo. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had lived in Albuquerque and was a civilian employee at Kirkland Air Force Base, where he served as an air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic and engineer for 28 years. He retired in 1970. He then lived in Truth or Consequences until 1980, when he resettled at Brown Ranch in Long Canyon. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gloria O'Bryant of Stead and Margaret O'Quinn of Bryan; a sister, Loretta Vigil of Glendale, Ariz.; a brother, Jimmy Renfro of Anaheim, Calif.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was employed by several restaurants in Pampa. She married Richard "Hank" Hankins in 1946 at Pampa. He died in 1966. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lanell Stogstill. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. John Valdez, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Martinez was born in Dilley and moved to Pampa in 1957 from Michigan. He was a carpenter and had worked for the R.H. Fulton Co. in pipeline construction for several years. He also worked for Lynn Colville Construction several years, and did ground maintenance for Fairview Cemetery for a number of years. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He married Jovita O'Dell in 1927. He was preceded in death by four sons, P. Manuel Martinez, Bonnie Martinez, and Pedro Martinez, all in the 1930s, and Jessie Martinez in 1997. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Stanley Martinez of Pampa, Pedro O'Dell Martinez Jr. of Lubbock, and Joseph Martinez of Casper, Wyo.; six daughters, Mary Sepulveda of Stinnett, Petra Abrego of Fort Worth, Pepper Johnson of Brownwood, Katie Thom of Las Vegas and Jovita Rivera and Jovita Rios, both of Pampa; 40 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Betty Jean Fuller DALHART - Betty Jean Fuller, 68, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Services will be in Modesto, Calif. Local arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Fuller was born in Modesto. She married Roger Eugene Fuller in 1954. He died in 1970. She worked for several years in a pet shop at Modesto. She moved to Missouri and later Dalhart. She wrote a book called "Let's Talk About Roots." Survivors include a son, Davie E. Fuller of Modesto; a daughter, Diane R. Trull of Dalhart; a brother, Glen Bearden; a sister, Cecelia Krepela Hodnett; and two grandchildren. Maria Chavez Taylor DALHART - Maria Chavez Taylor, 44, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. They lived in Hereford and Graham before moving to Dalhart in 1983. They owned and operated Taylor's Furniture. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Misty Taylor and Cindy Taylor, both of Dalhart; her parents, Veronica O. Orozco Chavez and Arturo C. Raymond Doyle Hill PADUCAH - Raymond Doyle Hill, 71, formerly of Paducah, died Monday, May 10, 1999, in Louisiana. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Garden of Memories with the Rev. He was a Houma, La., resident at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Lynn Hill, in 1947. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Walker. Mrs. Vance was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from St. John's High School in Independence, Iowa, and attended St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita, Kan., where she received her R.N. and certified anesthetist degree. She married Harry G. Vance Jr. in 1969 at Walker. They lived in Panhandle from 1975 to 1995, when they moved to Anchorage. Mrs. Vance was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Professional Skiing Instructors Association. She also was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church in Anchorage and the church women's group. Survivors include her husband; a son, H. John G. Vance III of Weatherford, Okla.; her mother, Erma G. Short of Walker; a brother, John Short of Decatur, Ill.; and a sister, Kris Lasley of Stratford. Winston Lewis Wilson QUANAH - Winston Lewis Wilson, 55, formerly of Quanah, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, in Alexandria, Va. Local funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Quanah First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hugh Daniel of Breckenridge and the Rev. Jesse Dea, First United minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Goodlett Cemetery by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson was born in Quanah. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture economics from Texas A&M University. He married Mickie Bland in 1964 at Quanah. He lived most of his life in Quanah until moving in 1980 to Alexandria, where he was a consultant to international grain companies and organizations from 1997 until the time of his death. He also had served as Deputy Undersecretary of Agriculture at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and had been an administrative assistant to Congressman Stenholm. Mr. Wilson was past president and chief executive officer of U.S. Wheat Associates in Washington, D.C.; past chairman of U.S. Agricultural Export Development Council; founding member of U.S. Grain Quality Workshop; past president of National Association of Wheat Growers; past member of United States Trade Policy Advisory Committee of Agriculture; and a member of the task force to revise the U.S. Department of Agriculture Export Reporting Service. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Machelle Wilson and Missy Wilson, both of Dallas; his parents, Woodrow and Jessie Mae Wilson of Quanah; and a sister, Jane Ragan of Denton. She preceded him in death in 1985. He married Mary Marie Parker in 1991 at Pampa. He worked for IRI as a maintenance foreman, retiring in 1993. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Echo Fenscke of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Misty Ennis of Clovis, N.M.; two sons, Derek Ennis of Hurst and Morgan Ennis of Pampa; a sister, Charlene Rich of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society.
