Tkacik John A. Tkacik, 53, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church in Borger. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Tkacik was born in Oxnard, Calif., and had lived in Borger until 1986. He attended St. John's Catholic School and Borger High School and the Job Corps in San Marcos. He worked for Fort Walters at Mineral Wells as a helicopter mechanic and test pilot and for the Houston Police Department as a helicopter mechanic. In 1986, he moved to Amarillo, where he worked for the Fire Department as a mechanic at the Amarillo International Airport. He also worked for Texas Panhandle Mental Health in the maintenance department. Survivors include a brother, William Tkacik of Rosharon; and a sister, Mary Tkacik of Stinnett. The body will not be available for viewing. Leonard E. Dollar Leonard E. Dollar, 93, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Wynn, chaplain of Craig Methodist Retirement Center, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Dollar was born in Iredell. He was a lifetime resident of the Texas Panhandle and a retired farmer from Castro County. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Allen of Anchorage, Alaska, Pamela Rush of Lynden, Wash., and Betty Dollar of Oklahoma City; a son, Monty Dollar of Temple; a brother, Harrell Dollar of Lockney; a sister, Lela Taack of Plainview; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. William Clark William "Bill" Clark, 79, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Mr. David Lough of the University Church of Christ in Canyon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Clark was born in Texola, Okla., and moved to Amarillo from New Guinea. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a stonecutter and brick mason. For 101/2 years he was business agent for the Bricklayers Union, Local No. 19, and when the Child Protective Agency building was under construction, he donated all masonry work. He was a member of University Church of Christ in Canyon. His son, Eugene Clark, died in 1969. He married Ruth Abbott in 1945 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Markham Clark of Amarillo; a sister, Marie Jones of Clarendon; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, University Cottage. William Richard Mills William Richard Mills, 69, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in St. Stephen United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Smith, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Mills was born in Harmon County, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for 30 years. He worked for Producer's Grain Corporation and Bell Helicopter before retiring. He served with the Army during the Korean War and was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He married Shirley Allred in 1970 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Mills of Lubbock; three daughters, Vicki Baldwin and Karen Chapman, both of Amarillo, and Jan Brumley of Lubbock; a brother, Edward Mills of Conchas Dam, N.M.; a sister, Doris Divens of Conchas Dam; and nine grandchildren. The family will be at 4614 Buffalo Trail. New Mexico John James Doherty FOLSOM, N.M. - John James Doherty, 44, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Des Moines School Gym with the Rev. George Silva officiating. Burial will be in Folsom Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Doherty was born in Raton and grew up in the Branson, Colo., area, where he graduated from Branson High School in 1973. In 1978, he graduated from Oklahoma State University, and in 1980, he married Shirley Jones at Des Moines, N.M. He was a rancher in the Folsom area and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Des Moines. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Patrick Doherty, Matthew Doherty, Zachary Doherty and Connor Doherty, all of Folsom; his parents, Bill and Georgia Doherty of Folsom; a brother, Bill Doherty of Hastings, Okla.; three sisters, Judy Alexander and Mary Margaret Wright, both of Denver, and Georgia Lockridge of Folsom. Merri McAlister Spencer ROSWELL, N.M. - Merri McAlister Spencer, 38, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in South Park Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. in West Main Baptist Church in Artesia with the Rev. J. Mark Robinson of the church officiating. Arrangements are by La Grone Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Spencer was born in Roswell and was a child care administrator. She worked for Trinity Methodist Day School for four years, Roswell Independent School District for one year and with the New Mexico State Treatment Foster Care Program for two years. At Christ's Church, she started the Mothers Day Out Program. Survivors include her husband, Mike Spencer; two sons, Brandon Pantuso and Joey Pantuso, both of Bullhead City, Ariz.; a daughter, Jenna Spencer of Roswell; two stepsons, Kyle Spencer and Chris Spencer, both of San Antonio; her parents, Bob and Betty McAlister of Dalhart, Texas; and five sisters, Olga McAlister of Dallas, Debbie Smith of Springfield, Mo., Becky McAlister of Hebron, Ky., Beth Day of Dalhart and Amy Grantham of Artesia. The family suggests memorials be to Gideons International. Violet McCluskey CLOVIS, N.M. - Violet McCluskey, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe, Texas. Mrs. McCluskey was a homemaker and moved from Miami, Okla., to Clovis in 1996. She married Earl McCluskey in 1971 at Gary, Ind. Survivors include her husband; four sisters, Anna Foy of Valparaiso, Ind., Martha Brown of Hammond, Ind., Mary Blystone of Crystal River, Fla., and Eleanor Wilson of Spring Hill, Fla.; three brothers, Arnold Camp and Raymond Camp, both of Homosassa Springs, Fla., and Kenneth Camp of Vandergrift, Pa. Oklahoma Glen Robert Lile GUYMON, Okla. - Glen Robert Lile, 82, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with the Revs. Don Chase, pastor, and Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Lile was born in and attended schools in Guymon. He served with the Army during World War II, returned to Guymon and married Vera Long in 1946. After 30 years, he retired from MichiganWisconsin Natural Gas. His wife died in 1983. He married Ila Ralstin Dow in 1983. She died in 1987. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ward Lile. Mr. Lile was a member of First Christian Church, the Odd Fellow Lodge, No. 51, Rebekah Lodge No. 241 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Emily Brown in 1995 at Guymon. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jay E. Lile of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Jeanie Stephens of Guymon; two stepsons, DeWayne Brown of Hardesty and Billy A. Brown of San Antonio; two sisters, Helen McCellan of Friona, Texas, and Mary Love of Guymon; a grandchild; 11 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren. A Glen Lile Memorial has been established for Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and will be accepted at Henson-Novak Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942. Elsewhere Horace Klutts DALLAS - Horace Klutts, 88, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, in Richardson. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church in Garland with burial to follow in Chism. Arrangements are by Sparkman Funeral Home of Richardson. Mr. Klutts was born in Chism and moved to Garland in 1971. In Garland, he owned and operated the Genie Garage Door Opener Company and was a member of Hella Temple and First United Methodist Church. He retired in Dallas after 28 years in the grocery business. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Effie Klutts; two daughters, Jerre Sprouse of Amarillo and Norma Sneed of Dallas; a brother, Ben Klutts; a sister, Jo Huffines; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Sammie Rainey of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Whippo was born in Fort Worth and moved to Amarillo in 1935 from Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She married Charles Edmund Whippo Sr. in 1935 at Perryton. He died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Charles Edmund Whippo Jr. of Arlington; a brother, Brax Dennison of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Area Stanley Ransom Miller DALHART - Stanley Ransom Miller, 87, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Okla., with the Rev. John Crawford, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Enid, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was born in Plainville, Kan., grew up on a nearby farm and later moved to Medford, Okla. He married Mary R. Murray in 1940 at Cherokee, Okla., and they farmed and taught in the area before moving to Dalhart in 1944. In Dalhart, he taught for a short period and was a farmer and rancher until his retirement in 1985. His wife died in 1974. Survivors include a daughter, Vista Jupe of Smyer; a son, Wesley L. Miller of Victoria; and five grandchildren. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Wes Brandes MEMPHIS - Wes Brandes, 65, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery with Alden White officiating. Arrangements are by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Brandes was born in Bakersfield, Calif., and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Darline Brandes; two sons, Mike Brandes and John Brandes, both of Arlington; a daughter, Darlia Brehm of Canyon; two sisters, Dorothy Helmick of Amarillo and Shirley Phillips of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Don Brandes of Arlington; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Don Marlow MULESHOE - Don Marlow, 72, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Green, pastor of Progress Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Marlow was born in Chillicothe and moved to Bailey County in 1934. He was a farmer and a member of Longview Baptist Church. He married Barbara Shafer in 1947 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Don Marlow of Vernon and Tommy Ray Marlow of Muleshoe; a daughter, Finetta Susan Statser of Dallas; a sister, Jodie Kay Herbert of Hale Center; and five grandchildren.
