Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church. Arrangements in South Houston were by Cristo Rey Funeral Home of Pasadena. Mrs. Smith was born in Ralls, Mo. She married Elmer E. Smith in 1938. They moved to Panhandle in 1952. He died in 1993. She also was preceded in death a daughter, Doris Jeanne Bender. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle. After moving to South Houston in 1994, she was a member of Bay Area Christian Church. Survivors include her children, Richard Smith of Dayton and Nana McGregor of South Houston; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Cecil Ray Moore PLAINVIEW - Cecil Ray "C.R." Moore, 85, died Thursday, May 13, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Crowell Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Moore was born in Crowell and was raised in Margaret. He attended schools in Margaret and graduated from Plainview High School. He attended North Texas State University and graduated from East Texas State in 1938. He did graduate work at Texas A&M University. He taught school at Margaret and Goodlett. Mr. Moore had been an officer for the Texas Department of Public Service. In 1946, he began farming in Foard County. In 1955, he moved to Plainview and farmed there while continuing to farm in Foard County. In 1963, he received the outstanding farm family award from the Hale County Farm Bureau. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners. He also had received his 50-year Masonic pin. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Plainview. He married Lois Evelyn Norris in 1937 at Altus, Okla. She died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Betty M. Condra of Lubbock; a son, Sy T. Moore of Plainview; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mary Frances Johnson CHILDRESS - Mary Frances Johnson, 52, formerly of Childress, died Thursday, May 13, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Horn officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson was born in Childress. She was a homemaker and a resident of Hollis, Okla., at the time of her death. Survivors include a daughter, Laverna Runnels of Hollis, Okla.; a son, Walter Runnels of Plainview; her father, S.P. Runnels of Childress; a brother, Charles Runnels of Wichita Falls; and three grandchildren. Guadalupe R. Trevino CACTUS - Guadalupe R. Trevino, 72, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel at Dumas. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas with Vacilio Anaya, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Trevino was born in Chilton and had been a resident of Cactus for 32 years. He married Janie Torres in 1948 at Brownsfield. He retired as a pipeline irrigation repairman. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Angel Trevino, in 1951. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Val Trevino and Guadalupe Trevino Jr., both of Dumas, and Thomas Trevino of Dallas; three daughters, Mary Garcia and Tomasa Rodriguez, both of Dumas, and Ufemia Espinoza of Cactus; three sisters, Rosa of McAllen, Agustina of San Antonio and Ciprania Garcia of Garden City, Kan.; a brother, Bendito Trevino of Phoenix; 20 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Wanda Day O'Neal Hodges FLOYDADA - Wanda Day O'Neal Hodges, 80, formerly of Floydada, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Dr. David Wilson, pastor of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, the Rev. Wilburn Coffman, associate pastor of Southcrest, and the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Floydada, officiating. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Hodges was born in McCoy Community. She attended school in McCoy Community and at Floydada High School. She married Clyde Hodges in 1987 at Plainview and moved to Lubbock from Crosby County in 1991. She was a past member of Rebecca Lodge in Floydada and a member and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Floydada. She was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dale O'Neal in 1962. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tommy O'Neal of Seminole; a sister, Flora McNeill of Floydada; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Nelle Craig FARWELL - Nelle Craig, 69, formerly of Farwell, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, in Kingsland. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Kingsland with the Rev. Michael Quist officiating. Burial will be in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park at Burnet County. Mrs. Craig was born in Amarillo. She married James Craig in 1950 at Amarillo. She retired as a school teacher from Farwell Independent School District. She also had taught in the Muleshoe Independent School District. She and her husband were "winter Texans" from 1990 to 1993. They moved to Kingsland in 1994 from Farwell. Mrs. Craig was a lifetime member of Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was choir director for many years. She also was a member of Highland Lakes United Methodist Church in Buchanan Dam. She was president of the Kingsland Genealogy Society, a volunteer tutor at Buckner Boys Ranch and a former member of the Texas Education Association. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Loyce Anne Mills of Big Spring and Robyn Allice Palady and Jamye Lynn Craig, both of Gatesville; two sisters, Claryce Allen of Sun City West, Ariz., and Lois Newman of Levelland; two brothers, Merle Whitten of Sun City, Calif., and Lynn Whitten of Boulder, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Wynogean Denney Moss WHITE DEER - Wynogean Denney Moss, 79, died Thursday, May 13, 1999. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in the White Deer Cemetery with Don Stone, minister of White Deer Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Moss was born in Willow, Okla. She moved to White Deer in 1959 from Pampa. She married Calvin Moss in 1941 at Amarillo. He died in 1972. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Gallett, in 1993. She had been a secretary for Cabot Corp. in Pampa for 25 years, retiring in the early 1980s. She was a member of the White Deer Church of Christ and attended Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa. Survivors include two sons, Lyndon Moss and Denney Moss, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Glenda Keyes of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Sam Denney of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Vega United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Phillips, pastor, and Jim Watkins, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Cotton was born in Ontario, Texas, and had been a lifelong resident of Vega. She married Robert Lee Cotton in 1932 at Vega. He died in 1989. She also was preceded in death by a son, Don Lee Cotton, in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of Vega United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert Cotton of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Park Cemetery, P.O. Box 496, Vega, Texas 79092. The family will be at 7303 Stacy. Kenneth Crim Jenkins DARROUZETT - Kenneth Crim Jenkins, 84, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Darrouzett School Auditorium with the Rev. Gary McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Darrouzett Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service in Booker. Mr. Jenkins was born in Farwell. He graduated from Darrouzett High School and then went to Norfolk, Va., where he worked in the shipyards. After World War II, he returned to Darrouzett and worked for the Texas Highway Department as a supervisor for 32 years. He married Merrita Dale in 1940 at Darrouzett. She preceded him in death. He married Emma Lawrence in 1967 at Darrouzett. A stepson, Kenneth Lawrence, preceded him in death. He attended First Baptist Church. He and his wife were known for their yearly Christmas lights. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kenda Reedy of Denton; two stepdaughters, Evelyn Wares of Elkhart, Kan., and Shirley Collins of Stayton, Ore.; a brother, G.A. Jenkins of Dubuque, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Amarillo Johnie Ann McKnight Johnie Ann Boney McKnight, 53, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 9, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hill Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. McKnight was born in Galveston. She attended public schools in Amarillo and graduated from Carver High School. As a young person, she had been a member of Jenkins Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she was in the choir, the Young People Adult Bible Class and had been a president of Mary Circle. Mrs. McKnight was a member of the Court of Calanthe No. 297 and served as junior directress. She was one of the founders of the Touch of Soul AA Group and had been acting treasurer of the Northside Club. She was a spokeswoman for the Amarillo Adult Literacy Council. She was preceded in death by a son. Survivors include her husband, Frank; a son, Clutes Williams of Amarillo; four daughters, Andrea McMurry, Ester McKnight, Penny McKnight, all of Amarillo, and Iris Grayson of Oklahoma City; children she raised, Gary Fagin, Sammie Fagin, of Denver, Colo., Brenda Fagin of Dallas and Clint Fagin of Amarillo; four sisters, Ethel Williams of Amarillo, Ann Boney of Bryant, Hattie Boney of Dallas and Helen Shields of Texas City; two brothers, Jackie Boney of Amarillo and Charles Boney of Vallejo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. D.L. Brooks D.L. "Pete" Brooks, 96, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Bob Schroeder of Paramount Terrace Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Brooks was born in Oklahoma. He attended Texas Tech and the University of Texas. He married Evon G. Griffith in 1936 in Amarillo. She preceded him in death in 1998. He was a self-employed public accountant for 70 years. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church for 21 years. Survivors include a sister, Maureen Ribble of Portales, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center or Meals on Wheels. The family will be at 3817 Ozark Trail. Oklahoma Nerine Gladys Lyles HOOKER, Okla. - Nerine Gladys Lyles, 81, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Liberal, Kan. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Tyrone Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Hein officiating. Burial will be in Tyrone Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Miss Lyles was born on the family farm south of Tyrone. She attended Phoenix Grade School and graduated from Tyrone High School in 1935. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee, graduating in 1941 with a bachelor's degree in education. She received her master's degree in education from Wayne State University at Detroit, Mich. She taught at Dague School in Raton, N.M., Adams School and Oregon School for the Blind in Oregon. She also worked for the State Department of Education at Oklahoma City Children's Memorial Hospital as director and teacher of children's education. After her retirement, she tutored adults in reading. She was a member of Tyrone Baptist Church, the Oklahoma Education Association, National Education Association, National Education Association, Council for Exceptional Children, Homebound and Hospitalized Children, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the American Association of University Women, Toastmistress Club, Business Women's Book Club, the Audubon Society and the Sierra Club. Survivors include a sister, Lois Baker, of Hooker. Leota Faye Kaufman HOOKER, Okla. - Leota Faye Kaufman, 95, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Arrangements are by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Kaufman was born in Howard, Kan., where she attended school. She moved to Raton, N.M., where she worked as a legal secretary. She and her husband, Edwin E. Kaufman, owned and operated Kaufman Jewelry Store in Raton. He died in 1980 and she moved to Hooker the same year. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Flynt. Mrs. Kaufman was a seamstress and owned race horses. She was a member of the Hooker United Methodist Church and Garden Club. Survivors include two grandchildren, Billie Sue Jackson of Elkhart, Kan., and Kenny Camp of Raton; and five greatgrandchildren. Carolyn Jean Davis OKTAHA, Okla. - Carolyn Jean Davis, 67, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at Muskogee. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Everett Dunn officiating. Burial was in Oktaha Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home of Checotah. Mrs. Davis was born in Thayer, Mo., and moved to the Muskogee area 14 years ago from Canyon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wainwright Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George David Hoaglan. She married Albert Ray Davis Jr. in 1958 at West Plains, Mo. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Donald Hoaglan of Fort Gibson, Okla., Duane Hoaglan of Collierville, Tenn., and Danny Davis of Traskwood, Ark.; four daughters, Denise Hoaglan of Cordova, Tenn., Diane Reynolds of Oktaha, Darla Hall of Amarillo and Dodie Davis of Carlsbad, N.M.; seven brothers, Carl Griffith of Fort Worth, Ron Griffith of Carlsbad, J.F.
