She was a baker at United Supermarkets. She married Dan Horne in 1969 at Borger. Survivors include her husband; a son, Shannon Horne of Borger; a daughter, Kimberly Hughes of Borger; her mother, Dorothy Davis of Borger; six brothers, Danny Davis, Lloyd Davis, Tommy Davis and David Davis, all of Borger, Jimmy Davis of Amarillo and Jerry Davis of Houston; a sister, Joyce Reed of Houston; and five grandchildren. F.N. Conklin MULESHOE - F.N. "Fennie" Conklin, 86, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Clovis, N.M. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Forrest Community Church with Fred Caton officiating. Burial will be in Beevers Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. of Clovis, N.M. Mr. Conklin was born in Lamesa. He graduated from Lamesa High School and then spent time in the Civilian Conservation Corps before attending Eastern New Mexico University in 1934-36, where he played center on the football team. He was a retired maintainer driver for the state highway department. After his retirement, he farmed and ranched in the Quay County area. He was a member of Forrest Community Church. He married Mildred Disney in 1936 at Portales. Survivors include two sons, Norris L. Conklin and Garland V. Conklin, both of Muleshoe; a daughter, Kay Hagler of Clovis; eight grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Donnie Mashburn BORGER - Donnie Mashburn, 66, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Mashburn was born in Pampa and had been a Borger resident for 62 years. During the Korean War, he served in the Marines. He was an operator for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 36 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Don Ray Mashburn Jr., and a daughter, Taira Lyn Mashburn. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mashburn; a son, Dell Ray Mashburn of Amarillo; a daughter, Tanya Davis of Dumas; a sister, Charlene Woods of Skellytown and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Gideon's Bibles. Christopher Dye DUMAS - Christopher Dye, 48, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999. Mr. Dye was born and raised in Dumas, where he was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Dumas High School. He was employed as a manager for Dumas Cleaners and was a member of Dumas Masonic Lodge No. 1009 and First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Shane Dye of Houston; his father, Thomas H. Dye of Dumas; and a brother, Bobby Dye of Dumas. The family will be at 418 Zauk. Homer L. Williams STRATFORD - Homer L. Williams, 92, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999. Mr. Williams was born in Limestone County. Prior to moving to Stratford in 1994, he lived in Springdale, Ark., and Amarillo. He was employed as a bread salesman. He married Almaree Bugg in 1930 at Big Spring. Survivors include his wife; a son, James E. Williams of Stratford; a daughter, Ama Jeane Marshall of Stratford; a brother, Alvin Williams of Houston; two sisters, Ama Wright of Mexia and Mary Love of Malakoff; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Ola Belle Hamilton BORGER - Ola Belle "Step" Hamilton, 88, of Wolfforth, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Iowa Park and had lived in Skellytown for 30 years before moving to Wolfforth. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert R. Hamilton, in 1989. Survivors include a son, Bill Hamilton of Fritch; a daughter, Paula Allred of Wolfforth; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be staying at 709 S. Hoyne in Fritch. Amarillo Audrey Louise Bradford Stubbs Audrey Louise Bradford Stubbs, 93, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Amarillo Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church with Linda Craven officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Stubbs was born in Commerce. When she was 14, she was admitted to East Texas State University. She graduated in 1926 and taught school in Dumas and New Mexico. In 1945, Mrs. Stubbs moved to Amarillo from Plainview. She retired in 1965 after 30 years as an X-ray technician. She was a member of the Amarillo Unitarian Fellowship and the Great Books Discussion Group at the library. She married Dennis Stubbs in 1935 at Plainview. He died in 1984. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Betty Stubbs Cundiff of Seguin; a brother-inlaw, Robert Stubbs of Brookville, Fla.; and a nephew, Randal Stubbs of Amarillo. Burial will be in the Hartville Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Lane was born in Enid and graduated from Covington High School in 1947. For 12 years, she owned and operated Travelers Cafe in Hardesty. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Texas County Cattle Women's Association, was a County Fair Coordinator and was a charter member of the Hardesty Homemakers Club. She married Wesley Eugene Lane in 1947 at Covington. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lane. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Loretta Morris of Dallas, Texas, and Debbie Reimer of Perryton, Texas; two sisters, Velma Surrett of Hominy and Nina Phares of El Dorado, Kan.; two brothers, Cecil S. Elliott of Hardesty and Alvin C. Elliott of Stillwater; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Emma Schneider SHATTUCK, Okla. - Emma Scheider, 90, of Arnett, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Christ Lutheran Church in Shattuck with Gary McClellan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lipscomb Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mrs. Schneider was born in Goodwin and raised in Lipscomb, Texas, where she attended school. After her marriage, she lived on a farm near Las Vegas, N.M., then moved to a farm near Arnett. In 1972, she moved into Arnett where she was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church and the senior citizens center. She married Theodore Schneider in 1928 at Lipscomb. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1977, a daughter, Laura, and an infant son. Survivors include a daughter, Gertrude Knowles of Arnett; two brothers, Henry Babitzke of Spearman, Texas, and Chris Babitzke of Canadian, Texas; three sisters, Valentine Schoenhals of Lipscomb, Anita Anthony of Amarillo and Erna Gragert of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. New Mexico Jerry Abran Martinez CLOVIS, N.M. - Jerry Abran Martinez, 18, died Sunday, July 11, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Rev. Carlos Chavez. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Martinez was born in Portales and raised in Clovis. He graduated from Ruidoso High School at Ruidoso in 1998. He was a painter for the Job Corps and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Christina Sena and Jimmy Maes of Clovis; his father, Jerry Martinez of Albuquerque; four brothers, Tony Maes and Jimmy Maes, both of Clovis, Michael Encinias of Portales, and Daniel Martinez of California; three sisters, Diedra Martinez and Dana Martinez, both of Clovis and Gerrilee Martinez of Albuquerque; and grandparents, Abran and Cleo Sena, Robert and Dora Maes and Aurelia Martinez, all of Clovis. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Red Mountain United Methodist Church in Mesa. Cremation was by Laurel Oak Funeral Home of Mesquite, Texas. Mr. Swedeen was born in South Bend, Ind., and previously lived in Amarillo, where he graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969. He was employed in the woodworking machinery industry. Survivors include two daughters, Holly and Kelly Swedeen; a son, Patrick Swedeen; his parents, Jean and Doug Swedeen; two sisters, Sandra Nelson and Linda Merkel; his twin brother, John Swedeen; and a grandson.
