Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Truelock was born in Canute, Okla. She married Hollis Truelock in 1940 at Hobbs, N.M. They moved to Amarillo where they owned and operated the East Third Fish Place. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Donald Ray Truelock of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Branson Taylor Good Branson Taylor Good, infant son of Jack Garland Good and Pamala Kay Clark, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. Verna Morton Verna Morton, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 a.m. Thursday in Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S. Van Buren, with Brother Richard Dickerson of the church and Brent Adams of Southwest Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mrs. Morton was born in View and lived in Amarillo for more than 35 years. For 10 years, she was employed at Fashion Corner. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and Naomi Sunday School Class. She married Rufus "R.E." Morton in 1926 in Buffalo Gap. He died in 1975. Survivors include a son, Vernon Morton of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Sheffield, 31, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in Arizona. Mr. Sheffield was born in Sapulpa, Okla., and lived in Amarillo prior to moving to Williams, Ariz., six months ago. He was living and working on the Babbitt Ranch. He married Thelma Vineyard in 1998 at Channing. Survivors include his wife; his parents, Diana L. Sheffield and Richard R. Sheffield, both of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Jamie Scott of Borger; and his grandparents, Otho O. Sheffield of Amarillo and Billie Gilmore of Granbury. The family will be at 3511 Vantage. Laura Theo Ferguson Laura Theo Ferguson, 98, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Ferguson was born in Deleon and lived most of her life in Amarillo. She did alterations for Dutton Cleaners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rufus "Bud" Ferguson, in 1982 and by a daughter, Jewell Jean Plemons, in 1992. Survivors include a son, George Washington Roper of Amarillo; a sister, Kitty Hupp of Sayre, Okla.; a grandson; five great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren. Elizabeth Davis Phipps Elizabeth Davis Phipps, 95, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rex Burns officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Phipps was born in Honey Grove and had lived in Amarillo since 1927. She was retired from retail sales and was a member of Order of Eastern Star and San Jacinto United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, S.M. Phipps, in 1971. Survivors include two nephews, Lawrence Keaton of Amarillo and Barry Davis of Houston; and a son-in-law, Jim Stultz of Amarillo. The family will be at River Falls Apartments #209 A. They suggest memorials be to Khiva Temple Travel Fund. New Mexico Otho Willis Tollett CLOVIS, N.M. - Otho Willis Tollett, 87, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Larry Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Inez Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Tollett was born in Clovis. He was a retired civil service employee at Cannon Air Force Base. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include a brother, Howard Allen Tollett of Clovis; and numerous cousins. Verle D. Hinderliter CLOVIS, N.M. - Verle D. Hinderliter, 72, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in The Chapel with the Rev. Charles F. Bader officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Hinderliter was born in Waynoka, Okla., where he graduated from high school in 1945. During World War II, he served in the Navy. In 1944, he went to work for the AT&SF Railroad in Waynoka. He was furloughed from the railroad in Waynoka and transferred to Clovis in 1961. In 1989, he retired after 44 years in the car department of the railroad. He was a member in the Brotherhood Railway Carmen of America, the Methodist Church in Waynoka and the First United Methodist Church of Clovis. From 1951 until 1961, he was financial secretary then chairman of Local Protective Board of Local No. 864 of BRAofA in Waynoka. He married Jacqulyn "Jackie" R. Mathis in 1945 at Waynoka. Survivors include by his wife; two daughters, Ginger Hinderliter of Portales and Gail Hinderliter of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Leonard Hinderliter of Woodward, Okla., Lloyd Hinderliter of Clovis and Merlin Hinderliter of Paris, Texas; a sister, Lois Curtis of Stillwater, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Elsewhere L.G. Gray LUBBOCK - L.G. "Glen" Gray, 77, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Abbey Chapel of Resthaven. Entombment will be in Resthaven Mausoleum by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mr. Gray was born in Eastland. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Phillip's Petroleum Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ava Lee Webb Gray, in 1993. Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Gray of Port Arthur and Jerry Gray of Houston; a brother, E.R. Gray of Fritch; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Area Elnora Clements DALHART - Elnora Clements, 85, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Rusty Hancock, pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Clements was born and raised in Carbon. She married Raymond Clements in 1931 at Palo Pinto. They moved to Dalhart in 1934. He died in 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Ray Clements of Dalhart; a daughter, Glenda Gaylor of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Frankie Gene McGregor QUANAH - Frankie Gene McGregor, 52, of Oklahoma City, a former longtime Quanah resident, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, with Morris Green officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. McGregor was born in Quanah. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1965, entered the Infantry Paratroopers in 1967 and served in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne. He received a Purple Heart after his discharge in 1970. He was employed by Fred Jones Ford Lincoln Mercury Dealership in Oklahoma City. He was a Church of Christ member. He was preceded in death by two wives; Essie Loretta Brown McGregor and Kaye Jones McGregor. Survivors include three daughters, Tonya Renee Brown of Fort Worth and Latrice Miller and Rhonda Jones, both of Oklahoma City; his mother, Loretta McGregor of Quanah; four sisters, Loretta Jones, Judy Burns, Loraine Claudrick and Cordelia Johnson, all of Irving; two brothers, Walter McGregor of Irving and Koch McGregor of San Antonio; three sons, Michael Miller of Washington, D.C., Cornell McGregor of Fort Worth and DeWann Jones of Oklahoma City; special friends, Edith Little John and Carol Miller; and 10 grandchildren. Bob Templar MULESHOE - Bob Templar, 60, of Lazbuddie died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Lazbuddie with Jerry Smith of Clovis, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Lazbuddie Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Templar was born in Muleshoe and was a lifetime Lazbuddie resident. He was a farmer and a trucker. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lazbuddie. He married Wanda Parker in 1960 at Muleshoe. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Charlotte Harris and Netta Haney, both of Lazbuddie, and Shari Barnes of Mineral Wells; his mother, Erma Templar of Muleshoe; a sister, Pat Clark of Lazbuddie; two brothers, Jack Templar of Muleshoe and Jerry Templar of Montgomery, Ala.; and eight grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Lazbuddie EMS or Lazbuddie Fire Department. Eddie Campbell DIMMITT - Eddie Campbell, 57, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Mullin, pastor of God of Prophecy Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mr. Campbell was born in Las Animas, Colo., and raised in Larned, Kan., where he attended school. In 1961, he moved to Dimmitt where he was employed by Dimmitt Equipment Co., for 32 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Hereford. For several years, he attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Dimmitt. He married Linda Yates in 1961 at Dimmitt. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bobby Campbell of Canyon; a brother, Ronnie Campbell of Ellendale, N.D.; three stepbrothers, Gerald Love of Dimmitt, Alvie Love of Boise City, Okla., and Elver Love of Amarillo; a sister, Janet Leingang of Dimmitt; and five grandchildren. Juanita Inez Witten Smoot PLAINVIEW - Juanita Inez Witten Smoot, 79, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Plainview, and the Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor of First Baptist Church of Olton, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Smoot was born in Howe and moved to Plainview in 1929. She graduated from Plainview High School and attended Wayland. She taught school in Hart. In 1944, she moved to Olton where she helped her husband farm until 1969. She owned and operated the Kachina Motel in Questa, N.M., from 1969 to 1982. She returned to Plainview in 1985. She married John Wayne Smoot in 1944 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Harrod of Questa; a son, Jerry Smoot of Olton; a brother, Glenn Witten of Edmonson; five grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Coy Dean Orr MEMPHIS - Coy Dean Orr, 66, of Waco, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Memphis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Orr was born in Plaska, Hall County. During the Korean War, he served in the Army. He was an engineer for Texas Instruments. Survivors include a son, Jeff Orr of Waco; two daughters, Julie Diane Kucera of Richardson and Linda Suzanne Orr of Arlington; a brother, Norman Gale Orr of Abilene; a sister, Alice Faye Orr of Arlington; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Ollie Edwards MEMPHIS - Ollie Edwards, 88, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mark Hundley and E. Edgar Sample, chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Edwards was born in Gainsville. During World War II, she was employed by Perry Brothers. Prior to the Meals on Wheels program, she cooked and distributed meals to her neighbors. Mrs. Edwards made more than 200 quilts that were donated to charity. She was a homemaker and member of the First Assembly of God Church. She married Aldon Edwards in 1928 at /Memphis. He died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Vernon Edwards of Amarillo; two daughters, Barbara Oslin and Joan Lebow, both of Memphis; a sister, Mary Truelove of Fort Worth; a brother, J.B. Ledford of Waxahachie; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Ladies Auxiliary of Hall County Hospital toward purchase of Stryker Aire hospital bed. Anna Green WHEELER - Anna Green, 91, of Midland and formerly of Wheeler, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Green was born in Shamrock where she attended school and graduated from Shamrock High School. She was employed by dress shops and department stores in Wheeler until her retirement. In 1986, she moved to Midland. She married Paul Green in 1927 at Wheeler. He died in 1972. Survivors include a son, Harold Green of Midland; a daughter, Paula Knox of Tarzan; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of Midland.
