Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo with the Rev. Andrew Parker, associate to the rector at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, in Amarillo. Mrs. Evans was born in Oden, Ark., and had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was a homemaker and had been a hairdresser. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Leon Evans, in 1962, and by her husband, Melvin Evans, in 1991. Survivors include two grandsons, Tim Smith of Amarillo and Tab Smith of Houston; two sisters, Dollie Amerson of Van Nuys, Calif., and Velma Dillard of Amarillo; a brother, Fred Dillard of Umbarger; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to favorite charity. J. Douglas Harrell J. Douglas "Irish" Harrell, 71, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church with Charles Meyer officiating. Cremation is by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Harrell was a longtime Amarillo resident. He served in the Navy on a submarine. He retired from Pantex in 1985 and owned and operated Harrell Real Estate. He was a member of Toastmasters and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two sons, Jim Douglas Harrell of Canyon and Byron Ray Harrell of New Orleans; two daughters, Bonnie Gay Bennett and Mickie Ann Phipps, both of Austin; a brother, Bill Harrell of Dallas; a sister, Peggy; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. Floyd F. Hunnicutt Floyd F. "Shorty" Hunnicutt, 72, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999. Mr. Hunnicutt was born in Wimberly and moved to Amarillo in 1962 from El Paso. He was a mechanic for U-Haul Trucking. He was a member of God's Covenant Family Church. He married Linda A. Scott in 1981 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Martin Hunnicutt, Theodore Hunnicutt and L.J. Hunnicutt, all of Granbury, and Wiley Hunnicutt of Woodward, Okla.; and two sisters, Laura McQueen of San Antonio and Norma Mitchell of Nashville, Ga. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Prebble Mae Puckett Prebble Mae Puckett, 94, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999. Kevin Reynolds of House of Faith Street Ministry officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Puckett was born in Bell County and moved to Amarillo in 1940. She married Cyrus W. Puckett in 1933 at Silverton. She was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church for 40 years. She enjoyed crocheting, handiwork and dancing, and was a member of Helping Hands Quilting Club at her church. She also was a member of the 45 Uppers Club and was an avid "42" player. Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband in 1960 and by a daughter, Betty Reynolds, in 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Smith of San Diego and Shirley Dickens of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, O.C. "Dick" Dickenson of Denver; a sister, Gladys Reid of Grants Pass, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was a registered nurse and a Catholic. She moved to Amarillo a few years ago. Otto Jr., 78, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 15, 1999. Fifth Ave. Mr. Otto was born in Baird and moved to Amarillo in 1950 from Denver. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He retired from Pantex after 32 years as a fireman. Georgia St., with Dr. Murray Gossett of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Born in Grady, N.M., Mrs. Elkin had lived in Amarillo for more than 30 years. She worked in sales in ladies clothing at The Hollywood and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She married Lewis Elkin in 1943 at Channing. Survivors include her husband; a son, James Elkin of Bailey, Colo.; and a sister, Ann Marie Perrin of Dimmitt. Oklahoma Sidney Allen Baker MINCO, Okla. - Sidney Allen Baker, 63, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery at Tuttle. Arrangements are by Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha. Mr. Baker was born in Ivanhoe, Texas, and was a longtime resident of West Texas before moving to Minco in 1998. He was a truck driver and had worked for Dumas Co-op 18 years before retiring. He married Verna Ruth Burns in 1971 at Fort Worth, Texas. Liston, a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, April 11, 1999. Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Chapel in Amarillo with the Rev. Bill Nix officiating. Other services and arrangements were in San Antonio by LaPaz Funeral Home of San Antonio. Mr. Liston was born in Omaha, Neb. He graduated in 1936 from Amarillo High School. He served as a flight instructor, a fighter pilot and was a captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he worked in the newspaper, broadcasting and aviation business until moving to San Antonio in 1967. Survivors include his wife, Lou; a daughter, Bonne Rhea Craig of Amarillo; two sons, Jack D. Liston Jr., and Bob Liston, both of Amarillo; three stepsons, Jim Olsen of Galveston, Eddie Olsen and Bob Olsen, both of San Antonio; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. New Mexico R. Frank Montgomery TUCUMCARI - R. Frank Montgomery, 80, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mr. Montgomery was born in Tucumcari where he was a lifetime resident. He graduated from Tucumcari schools and then served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a first lieutenant. After the war, Mr. Montgomery owned and operated Frank's Floor Covering. He then owned and operated El Sombrero Gift Shop until his retirement. He was a member of the Center Street United Methodist Church, Tucumcari Masonic Lodge No. 27, the BPO Elks Lodge 1172 and the Mesa Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and a son, Gary Montgomery. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Batson of Dallas, and two granddaughters. Ahmad Rashad Hicks Jr. CLOVIS, N.M. - Ahmad Rashad Hicks Jr., infant son of Amanda Castillo and Ahmad Hicks, died Thursday, April 15, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Mission Garden of Memories with the Rev. R.L. Smith officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Survivors include his parents and his grandfathers, Allen Hicks and Arturo Castillo, both of Clovis. Area The Rev. John N. Goss Sr. PERRYTON - The Rev. John N. Goss Sr., 93, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Adams Baptist Church at Adams, Okla., with the Rev. John Goss Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery east of Adams by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker, Okla. Rev. Goss was born in Indian Territory and was raised in the Asher, Okla., area. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee, Okla. He worked for many years building oil rigs. He became a Baptist minister, serving many different churches. His first church was in Asher, and he later served in Balko, Okla., Texhoma, Okla., and Liberal, Kan. For 28 years he served in the Rolls, Texas, area. On his 90th birthday, he retired as pastor at Estacado, Texas. He married Minnie Maude McCaulley in 1928 at Edmond, Okla. In 1998, they moved to Adams and in September became residents of the Senior Village at Perryton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Marie Beckham. Survivors include his wife; a son, the Rev. John Goss Jr. of Adams; a brother, James Ernest Goss of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four sisters, Mattie Rich of Stockton, Calif., Elsie Worden and Lois Huddleston, both of Purcell, Okla., and Leona Badget of Lindsey, Okla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She married Clyde Bailey in 1928 at Bordwell, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, John David Bailey. Survivors include five sons, Ray Odene Bailey and Wayne Bailey, both of Childress, James Bailey of Lincoln, Neb., Paul Bailey of Houston and Tommy Bailey of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Catherine Pannunzio of Arvada, Colo., and Sylvia Parker of Palmdale, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Rusty Lynn Kinsey VEGA - Rusty Lynn "Lil Dudder" Kinsey, 19, of Vega, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Vega High School auditorium with Randy Byrd, James Peach and Steve Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega by Vega Funeral Home. Mr. Kinsey was born in Hereford and spent his life in Vega where he graduated from high school in 1998. In school, he was active in football, basketball and cross country. Mr. Kinsey was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and First Baptist Church of Vega. He had been employed by Hereford Grain. Survivors include his parents, Rick and Clara Kinsey of the home; a brother, Jeremy Kinsey of the home; two sisters, Randi Kinsey and Chelsey Kinsey, both of the home; and his grandparents, Frank and Peggy Kinsey of Vega. The family suggests memorials be to the Vega Athletic Program. Flora M. Johnson MEMPHIS - Flora M. Johnson, 101, died Thursday, April 15, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memphis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Union Hill Cemetery in Lakeview. Mrs. Johnson was born in Missouri. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married Star D. Johnson in 1917 at Clarendon. He died in 1962. Survivors include a daughter, Freddie Starr Johnson of Memphis; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society or the Heart Association.
