Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. James E. Garrett, senior pastor, officiating. Military honors will be by a Fort Hood honor guard. Burial will be Saturday at Spring Grove Cemetery at Cincinnati, Ohio. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Salisbury was born in Vincennes, Ind. In 1941, he entered the military as a one-year draftee. He later became a career officer and served as chief of staff of the U.S. Army Signal Center and School. He retired after 31 years of service. His overseas service included three years in the Pacific Theater during World War II with assignments as executive officer of a signal battalion, which included duties at General Douglas McArthur's headquarters. He had staff assignments with the Fifth Air Force Headquarters in New Guinea and the Philippines Islands, at which time he received five battle stars. Later overseas assignments included tours in the Aleutian Island, Germany and Turkey. His post-war duties included command of signal corps units whose missions were construction and installation of air defense radar detection and reporting systems and command of communication-electronic support units in the Western Air Defense Force Other assignments included tours in plans and operations positions in army headquarters and two major NATO regional commands. Mr. Salisbury's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit and other service medals. Mr. Salisbury and his wife, Dorothy, moved to Amarillo in 1989. She preceded him in death in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Barton of Possum Kingdom; his mother, Wilma Salisbury of Cincinnati; a brother, Richard Salisbury of Naples, Fla; a sister, Jane Pancero of Cincinnati; and a granddaughter. Kansas Ruth F. Bevin Arnold LIBERAL, Kan. - Ruth F. Bevin Arnold, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Don Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Kismet Cemetery by Miller Mortuary. Mrs. Arnold was born in Pratt. She graduated from Partridge High School in 1930 and attended college at Colorado Springs, Colo., and Indianapolis. She served as a missionary in South Africa from 1952 until 1960, returning to Liberal in 1976. She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene at Liberal. She married Karel H.M. Bevin in 1956 in South Africa. He died in 1976. She married Floyd L. Arnold in 1988 at Liberal. He died in 1995. She also was preceded in death by a son, Walter H. Bevin, in 1997. Survivors include four brothers, Roy Ralston of Pratt, Vernon Ralston of Liberal, John Norris of Pampa, Texas, and Dean Norris of Hutchinson; five sisters, Wanda Fagan of Dumas, Texas, Crystal Chase of Cordova, Tenn., Norma Chase of Houston, Texas, Elda Barker of Salona Beach, Calif., and Patricia Dillon of Littleton, Colo.; and a grandson. Oklahoma Mary Alice Redemer BEAVER, OKLAHOMA - Mary Alice Redemer, 92, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Beaver United Methodist Church with John Breon officiating. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service. Mrs. Redemer was born in St. John, Kan. She later moved to Beaver County. She attended Forgan School and worked in the Beaver County Nursing Home. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. She married Frank Redemer in 1927 at Forgan. He preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Gaylord Redemer of Beaver, Merrill Redemer of Atlanta, Ill., and Vern Redemer of Mustang, Okla.; a brother, William Peck of Marysville, Calif; and a sister, Ella Finch of Orem, Utah. Daniel Rodriguez GUYMON, Okla. - Daniel Rodriguez, infant son of Carlos and Elizabeth Rodriguez, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church by the Rev. Scott Adams, pastor. Burial will be in Babyland at Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. He was preceded in death by an infant sister in 1997. Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Norma Rodriquez and Marissa Rodriquez, both of the home; paternal grandparents, Martin and Juana Rodriguez of Mexico; maternal grandparents, Roberto and Felisitas Rodriguez of Gruver, Texas. Elsewhere Mary Louise Kay THORNTON, Colo. - Mary Louise Kay, 93, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Phil Mercado, associate minster of Trinity Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Kay was born in Dallas and had lived in Amarillo from 1925 until 1987. She married Dallas G. Kay in 1924 at Dallas. He died in 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Polumbo of Roseville, Calif., and Burt of Thornton; two sons, Dallas B. Kay of Las Vegas and Mark Kay of Amarillo; a brother, Sam Sherrill of Marble Falls, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 31 greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at the Big Texan Hotel and suggests memorials be to Hospice Metro Denver, 425 S. Cherry St. suite 700, Denver, CO 80246. Area Margaret Alice Bloyd BORGER - Margaret Alice Bloyd, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at Newton, Kan. Memorial services will be at Presbyterian Manor at Newton, Kan. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memory Lane Garden at Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. D. Jay Lewis, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Bloyd was born in Fort Worth. She retired from Sears as a saleswoman. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the WMU at the church and was a board member of Helping Hands. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. "Jack" Bloyd, in 1987. Survivors include a son, Bob Webb of Columbus, Miss.; a stepson, Don Bloyd of Borger; a daughter, Sarah Sisson of El Dorado, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Services were at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church with Bob Garton, minister of the Church of Christ at Dodson, and the Rev. Derwin Comer, minister of youth and music of the First Baptist Church of Wellington, officiating. Burial was in Dodson Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Roberson was born in Arch, N.M. She owned Dodson Cafe for 43 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Jessie Roberson in 1932 at Texico, N.M. He died in 1973. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Faye Roberson in 1933. Survivors include a son, Lonnie Roberson of Wellington; and a grandson. The family requests memorials be to Dodson Cemetery. Valerie Henry PAMPA - Valerie Henry, 82, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with Frankie Lemons, minister of the McCullough Street Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Henry was born in Sulphur Springs and had been a longtime resident of Pampa. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. Survivors include a sister, Mildred Cash of Pampa. Lloyd B. Glenn PLAINVIEW - Lloyd B. Glenn, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson, pastor of Faith Family Church and Greg Longenbaugh of Faith Family Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mr. Glenn was born in Olustee, Okla., and in 1929, moved to Duke, Okla., where he graduated from Duke High School. He farmed in Duke until 1923 when he moved to Swisher County. Mr. Glenn farmed in Swisher County until his retirement in 1976, when he moved to Plainview. He was a member of Faith Family Church, a longtime member of the Plainview Country Club and a member of several farm organizations. He married Anna Verone Darby at Mangum, Okla., in 1935. She died in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Greg Glenn of Kress, and Mark Glenn of Plano; a sister, Mrs. John (June) Taylor of Dallas; two brothers, Elvin Glenn of Kress and Dwight Glenn of Plainview; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. W.C. Peace SHAMROCK - W.C. Peace, 82, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Bowers Cemetery with Joe Stulir, pastor of the Church of God in Shamrock, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Peace had lived in Shamrock since 1928. He worked as a laborer. He married Isabelle Johnson in 1958 at Texola, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a son, Willie Earl Peace of Dallas; a sister, Annie Laura Norris of San Francisco, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Jeanette Swift Moore CHILDRESS - Jeanette Swift Moore, 62, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Christ at Dodson with Bob Garton officiating. Burial will be in the Dodson Cemetery by Stewart Funeral Home of Hollis, Okla. Mrs. Moore was born in Harmon County, Okla. She graduated from Dodson High School in 1954 and attended West Texas State University at Canyon. She was the postmistress for Dodson for 15 years. She lived in Harmon and Collingsworth counties most of her life until moving to Cottage Village at Childress in May. She was a Church of Christ member. She married Bundy Moore in 1954 at Hollis. He died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Tim Moore of Dallas and Tane Moore of Fort Worth; her mother, Wilmagene Swift of Wellington; and a sister, Zenith Warrick of Wellington. New Mexico J.B. Smart TUCUMCARI, N.M. - J.B. Smart, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Fred Caton officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Smart was born in Paducah, Texas, and moved to Tucumcari in 1925. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was stationed in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He was awarded three bronze stars during his military career. He retired from the city of Tucumcari in 1979, where he had been the electrical superintendent. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Smart. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Nancy Turley of Fort Collins, Colo., and Shirley Wisner of Tucumcari; a son, Dennis Smart of Tucumcari; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home until service time on Wednesday. Luke E. Oldham TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Luke E. Oldham, 77, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 2538 in Tucumcari. Arrangements are by Amarillo's Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Oldham was born in Blanket, Texas. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from ICX Freight Lines after working as an auto mechanic for 35 years. After retirement, he was a campground host at Ute Lake in New Mexico. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2538 and the First Baptist Church in Tucumcari. He married Ada Beth Johnson in 1948 at Tucumcari. He was preceded in death by two sons, Luke Emanuel Oldham Jr. in 1995 and Leslie "Rusty" Oldham in 1997. Survivors include his wife; three sons, John R. Price of Amarillo, Wesley Oldham of Wenatchee, Wash., and Thomas Oldham of Tucumcari; three daughters, Jacklyn O'Connell of Roanoke, Texas, Sharon Ford of Midland, Texas, and Judy McDonald of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Jasper Oldham of Bixby, Okla., and T.J. Oldham of Amarillo; two sisters, Callie Sproesser of Amarillo, Texas, and Mae Woods of Colorado Springs, Colo; fourteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. The family will be at 1006 E. Turner in Tucumcari and request memorials to the Amarillo Veterans Administration Hospice Center, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106; or the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109. Raymond Thomas Hammack CLOVIS, N.M. - Raymond Thomas Hammack, 60, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements were by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Hammack was born in Cedar Park, Texas, and was a longtime Clovis resident. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam and was a member of San Gabriel Masonic Lodge Post 89 AF&AM. He was an ironworker. He married Peggy Sue Mathis in 1959 at Tempe, Ariz. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeff Hammack and Andy Hammack, both of Georgetown, Texas; two brothers, Robert Odell Hammack of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Marvin Wayne Hammack of Georgetown, Texas; a sister, Betty Rees of Cheshire, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
