Mrs. Weaver was born in Claude and lived in Armstrong County all of her life. She studied art at West Texas State University. She was an illustrator of numerous books about Armstrong County. She was a member of the Malden Club, Royal Neighbors, United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Methodist church. Survivors include two sisters, Leota Thomas of Amarillo and Earline Wells of Dallas; nieces Zipra Morgan of Austin and Exxie Bass of Bryan; and nephews Tommy Thomas and James Alton Thomas, both of Amarillo. The body will be available for viewing 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Bobby Joe Dorsey PAMPA - Bobby Joe Dorsey, 62, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Mark CMC Church with the Rev. Thomas J. Patterson, pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Dorsey was born in Greenville and moved to Pampa in the early 1950s. He worked for IRI International as a machinist until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Mark CME Church and was a veteran of the Army. He married Frances A. Johnson in 1969. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mary Ballard and Judy Hemphill, both of Dallas and Lola Faye Dorsey of Clinton, Okla.; three sons, Bobby L. Dorsey of Pampa, Bobby Lee Dorsey of Denver and Paul E. Lance Corporal Monroe was born and attended school in Lockney, graduating from Lockney High School in 1994. He enlisted in the Marines in 1996, was stationed in California, Mississippi and South Carolina. He was a member of the Evans Chapel Baptist Church. He married DeKala VanZandt in 1996. Maggie Kammerer Babitzke CANADIAN - Maggie Kammerer Babitzke, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lewis Holland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Babitzke was born near Hosmer, S.D. and attended school in Leola, S.D. before moving near Booker in 1917. She moved to Glazier and later farmed near Lipscomb until moving to Canadian in 1938. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Berthold "Bert" Babitzke in 1929. He died in 1969. Survivors include two sons, Edward Babitzke of Tucson, Ariz. and Ernest Babitzke of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, George Kammerer of Pampa; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Spivey was born in Beaver County, Okla. and attended West Texas State Normal School. She taught for two years at Lakeside School and was a nurse at Guymon Memorial Hospital from 1958 to 1978. She was a member of Gruver Golden Agers Club, and of Daughters of American Republic. She married John H. Spivey in 1920. He died in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Stedje. Survivors include a son, Hix Spivey of Gruver; a daughter, Ada Joyce Stedje of Gruver; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Ms. Smith was born in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School. She was a seamstress for over 20 years and retired from Vogue Dress Shop. She was a member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Allee was born in Green County, Mo. and moved to Amarillo in 1958. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Lyndon Allee, died in 1958. Mr. Wilcox was born in Metcalf and had lived in Amarillo for 30 years. He was a self-employed truck driver and had worked for the railroad. He was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. He married Ora Lillie Tice in 1935. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Cherry of Amarillo; a sister, Dorothy Nichols of Hurst; a brother, Olan Wilcox of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Ojinaga, Mexico and lived in Hale Center most of her life. She married Pedro Gonzalez in 1935. She was preceded in death by a son, Luciano Gonzalez, in 1965. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Bonifacio Gonzalez of Hale Center, Pascual Gonzalez of Levelland, Esequiel Gonzalez of Littlefield and Bernardino Gonzalez of Amarillo; seven daughters, Eduvijes Porras of Littlefield, Matilda Hernandez of Hereford, Carmen Mier of Marshall, Okla., Apolonia Orona of Junction, Fidelia Roman and Raquel Villareal, both of Plainview, and Margarita Hernandez of Cotton Center; four brothers, Servando Pando, Hilario Pando, and Abraham Pando, all of Mexico, and Balerio Pando of Redford; three sisters, Antonia Gallegos, Elpidia Tarin and Benina Burola, all of Mexico; 53 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Rayford Fowler BROWNFIELD - Rayford Fowler, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1999. Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998 in Mount Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beverly Titus of Brownfield officiating. Masonic graveside rites and burial was in the Mount Zion Cemetery by Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La. A memorial service is planned for a later date in Brownfield. Mr. Fowler was born in Wheeling, La. and graduated from Atlanta High School. He farmed and worked with the reforestation program of Brown Paper Company and with Carey Salt Company in Winnfield. In 1943, he began work with Columbian Carbon Company in Fairbanks and later, in Conroe. In 1945 he moved to Seagraves and retired as the superintendent of Plant No.64 in 1977. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge in Seagraves, of South Plains Iris Society, where he served as president, of Antique Clock Collectors in Lubbock, of the Red Raider Club, of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Society and of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He was a charter member of Texas Tech Dads Association, and of Scottish Rite in Lubbock. He served 12 years on the Seagraves Independent School District board, including three years as president. He was chairman of the Board of Stewards and of the Administrative Board. He married Bertie Mae McLaren in 1934. They continued a hospital visiting ministry until the time of his death. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Annette Nall of Canyon, Sammie Saulsbury of Monroe, La. and Sarah Bettinger of Lakewood, Colo.; a son, John Fowler of Aiken, S.C.; and five grandchildren. Mr. Lester was born in Decatur and was a mechanic employed with Lubbock Auto prior to owning Lester Auto Service from 1960 to 1965. He was a member and former deacon at Highland Baptist Church. He married Beatrice Kinard in 1928. She died in January 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Vanda Gooch of Lubbock; three sisters, Alma Mitchell of Mineral Wells, Velma Van Straton of Dumas, Buena Crafton of Victoria; a brother, Earnest Lester of Wheeler; two grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Burial will be in Afton Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mrs. Goodwin was born in Dickens County and had been a lifelong resident of the Afton area. She was a member of the Methodist Church, a former member of the Spur Art Guild, and had been a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She married Curtis E. Goodwin in 1926. He died in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Dorlores Fox of Afton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Paschal Othal Hibbs BEAVER, Okla. - Paschal "P.O." Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mr. Hibbs was born in Elmwood, Okla. He was a former Beaver County Commissioner, a mason and president of the Pioneer Cemetery Association. He married Luella Gertrude Smith in 1929. She died in 1983. Survivors include a son, Leon Hibbs of Durant, Okla.; a daughter, Connie of Washington, Okla.; a brother, Leroy Hibbs of Beaver; a sister, Delia Rose of Beaver; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Birdie Whipkey ERICK, Okla. - Birdie Whipkey, 106, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Erick Church of Christ with Earl Reed, assisted by Durward Weatherford, officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Whipkey was born in Baker, Oklahoma Territory, moved to western Oklahoma and settled in the Sweetwater community. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and taught school in Salt Flat, Texas. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Arthur Dean Whipkey in 1913. She was preceded in death by her husband, and by a son, Elmer. Survivors include three daughters, Wynona Heflin of Erick, Sylvia Larison of Washington and Lena Luman of Shamrock, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren.
