Mrs. Box was born in Merit. She lived in Quanah most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She married Oscar Lee Box in 1919 in Quanah. He died in 1981. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Lillian Reeb OLTON - Lillian Reeb, 69, died Friday, July 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Olton with the Rev. Kyle Streun officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Olton. Mrs. Reeb was born in Lindsey, Okla. In 1968, she moved to Olton from Abernathy. She was a school teacher in the Olton schools and a member of the Running Water Draw Care Center volunteers. She married Melvin Reeb in 1952 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Marion Durham of Olton and Susan Venable of Plainview; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Vista Care Hospice of Plainview or Running Water Draw Care Center of Olton. Freda V. Andrews CANADIAN - Freda V. Andrews, 74, died Friday, July 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Colony Baptist Church in Colony, Okla., with the Rev. Truman Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Van Dyke Cemetery near Colony by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Andrews was born in Mason, Okla., and was raised in Colony where she attended school. During World War II, she worked in an airplane factory in Wichita, Kan. She was a homemaker who moved to Canadian in 1976 from Woodward, Okla. Survivors include two sons, Darrell Andrews and Tommy Andrews, both of Canadian; a daughter, Sandra Cherry of Springtown; a sister, Creda Smith of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Cruz was born in Mercedes. A Hereford resident for more than 50 years, she was a homemaker and a member of San Jose Catholic Church. She married Jacinto Cruz in 1939. Maleta Elcie Kennedy Parker PAMPA - Maleta Elcie Kennedy Parker, 74, a former Amarillo and Pampa resident, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, in Radford, Va. Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa with her son, Dr. Paul R. Parker of Austinville, Va. officiating. Arrangements are by Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, Va. Mrs. Parker graduated from high school in Pampa and attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla. From 1963 until 1969, she lived in Amarillo and attended North Amarillo Christian Church and First Christian Church. In Radford, she was a bookkeeper, coordinator of Radford Nutrition Site and a member of Radford Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Survivors include a son, Paul R. "Al" Austin, 86, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Greely, Colo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hass Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Austin was born in Childress and moved to Olton. During World War II, he worked for an aircraft company in Fort Worth. In 1946, he moved to Dalhart, where he owned Al's Boot Shop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vaye, and a granddaughter, Diana Blanchard. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Howell of Greeley; a son, Al Austin of Stanhope, Iowa; a sister, Zo Dell Smith of Enid, Okla.; three brothers, Dan Austin of Breckenridge, Don B. Austin of Lubbock, and Tommy Austin of Houston; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Kenneth Eugene Herbolsheimer FRITCH - Kenneth Eugene Herbolsheimer, 54, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in Las Vegas. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce, Neb. Mr. Herbolsheimer was born in Norfolk, Neb. and had been a resident of Fritch for 23 years. He was self-employed and served with the Army and National Guard from 1966 until 1972. Survivors include two sons, Brent Herbolsheimer of Borger and Brandon Herbolsheimer of Las Vegas; a daughter, Kerri Lippon of Las Vegas; his parents, Elmer and Edna Herbolsheimer of Pierce, Neb.; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Simmons was born in Ellis County, moved to Kelton Community in Wheeler County in 1927 and to the McLean-Alanreed area in 1938. She moved to San Angelo five years ago. She married Frank Lee Simmons in 1920 at Quail. He died in 1951. She was also preceded in death by a son, Granville Lee Simmons, in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Wanette Lakey of San Angelo; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. Viewing will be from 3 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Garrett was born in Trinity City, grew up in the Vernon area and attended Elliot School in Wilbarger County. In 1943, she moved to Kress, where she was a member of First Baptist Church, the Kress Study Club and Kress Senior Citizens. She married Floyd William "Buck" Garrett in 1930. He died in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Louise Kirk of Kress; three sons, Kenneth Garrett of Baton Rouge, La., Dwain Garrett of Chillicothe and Bruce Garrett of Plainview; a brother, Minton Burchfield of Houston; three sisters, Inez Parker of Byers, Daisey Horn of Houston and Jo Nelle Ross of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 greatgreat-grandchildren. He married his former wife, Nancy Cooper, in 1967 at Riverside. of Tustin, Calif. and Tammy Ash of Phoenix; his mother, Edisy Hackler of Olton; a brother, Max Wozencraft of Riverside; two sisters, Jolene Shaefer of Olton and Nora Lee Robertson of Taylor; and three grandchildren. Mr. Yeary was born in Globe, Ariz., graduated from Lockney High School and attended West Texas State University. He was a farmer in Lockney and Floyd County, where he was a lifelong resident. He was a Baptist and a member of Texas Plains Chapter of Two Cylinder Club and the Elks Lodge. His grandson, Jason Barker, died in 1990. He married Wilma Lester in 1985 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Max Yeary of Floydada and Rex Yeary of Quitaque; two daughters, Jacqualine Owen of Lubbock and Jennifer Donaghe of Floydada; a stepson, Warren Meeks of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Wendy Royal of Abernathy; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Albert Rieger Albert Rieger, 76, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 16, 1999. Burial will be in Trail City Cemetery by Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Mr. Rieger previously lived in Mobridge. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda. William Reford Byers William Reford Byers, 92, died Friday, July 16, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Dick Marcear of Central Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Byers was born in Newcastle, Okla. For more than 50 years, he owned and operated Byers Vacuum and Sewing Machine. He was a Mason and a member of Central Church of Christ for more than 20 years. He married Muriel Escoe in 1927 at Healdton, Okla. Preceding him in death was his wife in 1990 and a son, Bill R. Byers, in 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Williams of Amarillo; three brothers, Jerry Byers of Phoenix, Tommy Byers of Palm Springs, Calif., and Johnny Byers of Spokane, Wash.; and three granddaughters. Paul Hudson Norman Paul Hudson Norman Jr., 81, an Amarillo native, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Bayfield, Colo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bayfield Church of Christ with Mr. Gene Chapin officiating. Burial will be in Bayfield Cemetery by Hood Mortuary of Durango, Colo. Mr. Norman was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1936. In Amarillo, he worked as paymaster for Santa Fe Railway for 14 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. He moved to the Bayfield area in 1951. In Bayfield, he owned and operated the Pine River Lodge at Vallecito Lake until 1965. He also worked as business manager for the Bayfield School District and for several summers with the U.S. Forest Service. For the past 20 years, he spent the winters in Apache Junction, Ariz. He married Wylene Capps in 1937 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Jean Stelding of Abilene; three brothers, M. Taylor Norman, Edward Earl Norman and John Robert Norman, all of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Church of Christ, Building Fund, P.O. Box 320, Bayfield, CO. 81122. Robert Brockman Robert "Dan" Brockman, 61, a former Amarillo resident, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in Houston. Mr. Brockman was born in Covington, Ky. and was a comptroller in the Medical Field. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service and was a member of the Covington Masonic Lodge No. 109. He married Sharon Stark in 1982 at El Paso. Survivors include his wife of Tomball; two sons, Robert Denton of Dallas and Michael Denton of San Antonio; a daughter, Kim Blau of Follett; a brother, William Brockman of Perry Park, Ky; and six grandchildren. Clifford F. Burns Clifford F. Burns, 81, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 16, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Mr. Burns was born in Hope, N.M. and had lived in the Texas Panhandle for most of his life. He was an accountant for more than 30 years and retired in 1986. In 1996, he moved from Borger to Amarillo. He was a musician and a Baptist. He married Argie Bell Neill in 1958 at Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Jo Davis of Perryton and Bobbie Sue Baker of Wheeler; a son, Robert Clifford Burns of Arlington; a stepdaughter, Donna Kelley of Citronelle, Ala.; two sisters, Geraldine Meyer of Borger and Monte Jean Cribbs of Winslow, Ariz.; a brother, Lloyd Burns of Borger; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. In 1990, he retired from Joe T. Davison Oil Company and worked part-time for USA Auto Auction. He served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He married Mildred Ruth Hewett in 1958 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Calvin Kimball of Terra Haute, Ind. and Cliff Hewett of Amarillo; two daughters, Gwen Stafford of Texarkana and Linda Albritton of Amarillo; a brother, Dan Kimball of Edmonson; two sisters, Catherine Thomas of Burkley, Calif. and Jean Martin of Lubbock; and 10 grandchildren. For 50 years, he was a pipefitter and a member of the Pipefitter Local 196. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966, the Scottish Rite of El Paso and Coulter Road Baptist Church. He married Hazel Marie Jewell in Spearman. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald Leroy Young of Saint Hedwig and Kenneth Young of Amarillo; a daughter, Joyce Olsen of Houston; a sister, Lorean Atwood of Hughes Springs; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. For 13 years, she lived in Quanah before moving back to Amarillo in 1994. She was a homemaker. She married Jim Collins in 1973. He died in 1994. Survivors include a sister, Alice Newland of Brush, Colo.; and two brothers, Frank Terrel of Fort Collins, Colo. and Glen Terrel of Minden, Neb. John H. Abbott John H. Abbott, 82, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 17, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lake Tanglewood Community Church with the Rev. Roger Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 315 E. Fifth. Mr. Abbott was born in Excelsor, Ark., moved to Amarillo in 1951 from Hollister, Calif. and to Lake Tanglewood 24 years ago. He served with the Navy during World War II. He was a retired electrical estimator for A-1 Electric Company, and had been a member of Lake Tanglewood Church for 24 years. He married Viola Hale in 1941 at Tulsa, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathryn Ann Sargent of Austin; a son, John D. Abbott of Amarillo; a sister, Flossie Lesley of McAlester; and three grandchildren.
