Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Smith was born in McGregor and was a homemaker. She married Denton Smith in 1938 at Waco. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Martha Smith Hall of Roswell, N.M.; a son, Charles Denton Smith of Amarillo; a brother, Ed Connally Jr. of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Jeremy Christian Silva Jeremy Christian Silva, 28, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Mike Brock, pastor, and the Rev. Darrell Bonjour, minister to the deaf at Paramount Baptist Deaf Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Silva was born in Dallas. He was a forklift driver for Amarillo Hardware and a member of Trinity Fellowship. In June, he graduated from the Amarillo College Fire Academy. He married Pamela Denton in 1989 at Dallas. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Alexis Cherae Silva of the home; a son, Christian David-Paul Silva of the home; his parents, Charles and Cathy Burt of Dallas; three sisters, Jennifer Burt, Melissa Burt and Tonya Burt, all of Dallas; a brother, Terry Burt of Dallas; and his grandparents, Dorothy Pitman of Winnsboro and Charlie Pitman of Mesquite. Canyon Drucilla Wilson Drucilla "Dru" Wilson, 71, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Burial will be in Tulia Cemetery in Tulia. Mrs. Wilson was born in Tulia and moved to Amarillo in 1937. She was a homemaker. She married Burt Monroe Wilson in 1949 at Amarillo. He died in 1974. Survivors include two sons, Donny G. Wilson and Danny J. Wilson, both of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association. New Mexico Albert F. Stewart CLOVIS, N.M. - Albert F. Stewart, 75, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Willie Tolison officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery at Portales. Mr. Stewart was born in Americus, Kan., and lived most of his life in the Portales and Clovis areas. He retired from the train master's office of Santa Fe Railway in 1983. He was a member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ. He married Fern Stewart in 1973 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Fred Stewart of Waco, Texas; two stepsons, Ronald Firestone of Carlsbad and Tommy Firestone of Clovis; two daughters, Ann Haisler of Houston and Cheri Kelly of Clovis; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Elsewhere Lucille P. Weeks LONGVIEW - Lucille P. Weeks, 102, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by the Catholic Daughters followed by Mass of Christian burial at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor John Flynn and the Rev. Dan Gonzales officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Weeks was born in Lead, S.D. She attended St. Catherine's College and Northwestern University, graduating with a degree in physical training. In 1921, she completed her nurse's training and was certified in both New York state and Illinois. After her marriage, Mrs. Weeks lived in Mississippi, Illinois and Louisiana where she was an active participant in civic and church organizations. This included serving as regent of the Catholic Daughters of American chapters and as state regent for Louisiana. In 1980, she moved to Longview. Mrs. Weeks was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and worked with the Altar Society, Our Lady's Guild, St. Mary's School and the Catholic Daughters. She was a charter member in the formation of Court St. Bridget of the Catholic Daughters in St. Mary's parish. She began a burse for the education of priests for the Diocese of Tyler which is now complete. An avid bridge player, Mrs. Weeks was an active member of the Longview Art Museum. She also supported various political campaigns. She married Clarence May Weeks in 1925 at Chicago. He died in 1954. She also was preceded in death by her children, Clarisse Lucille "Penney" and Clarence Lucien "Toot" or "Clay," in 1993 and 1994. Survivors include five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Bishop Herzog Memorial Burse or Hospice Longview. Area L.R. Lockett PAMPA - L.R. "Ray" Lockett, 78, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Glen Walton, minister of Bell Avenue Church of Christ of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Lockett was born in Cleburne and had been a resident of Pampa for 39 years. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a member of the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. He married Flora Belle Brewer in 1948 at Abilene. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Lockett of Amarillo; two daughters, Melissa Potter of Amarillo and Cristy Shouse of Pampa; two brothers, Richard Lockett and Charles Lockett, both of Cleburne; three sisters, Nell Powell and Ella Powell, both of Cleburne, and Marie Eubanks of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Faggett was born in Wellington. In 1984, she moved to Pampa from Dallas. She was a nurse and a member of the Macedonia First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard L. Proctor, in 1996. Survivors include her husband, Richard; two daughters, Sara Elizabeth Parker of Dallas and Therisha D. Proctor of Pampa; two son, Tony A. Proctor and Joseph K. Proctor, both of Dallas; and eight grandchildren. Pearl Johnson DALHART - Pearl Johnson, 93, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Dalhart with the Rev. Bob Wood, minister, and the Rev. Bob McAlister, retired minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Johnson was born in Floria, Okla., and moved from Indian Territory to Hartley County as a child. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a past member of the Rehm Home Demonstration Club. She married Louis Clark Johnson in 1922. He died in 1953. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Brown, and two sons, D.J. Johnson and Floyd Johnson. Survivors include four sons, David Johnson of Dalhart, Harrell Johnson of Amarillo, Ray Johnson of Canyon and Frank Johnson of Azle; three daughters, Florene Brown, Maxine Longpree and Vinita Bevans, all of Dalhart; a sister, Ethel Johnson of Montrose, Colo.; 35 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Eunice Widmier FRIONA - Eunice Widmier, 81, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Friona Cemetery with the Rev. Herman Krauel officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. Widmier was born in Grady, N.M. In 1938, she moved to Friona from Fort Sumner, N.M. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Friona. She married Virgil Widmier in 1938 at Fort Sumner. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and by a son, Virgil Ray Widmier, in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Lynnis Clark of Friona; a brother, Oren Lang of Clovis, N.M.; three sisters, Clara Talley and Blanche Kent, both of Portales, N.M., and Essie Bell of Farmington, N.M.; four grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Friona EMS or Union Congregational Church for the food bank. Henryetta Cowan FRITCH - Henryetta Cowan, 84, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mrs. Cowan was born in Blanco County and moved to Fritch in 1935. She was a homemaker and member of Fritch Church of Christ. She married Evan Cowan in 1933 at Brady. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, Arvin Cowan of Fritch; a daughter, Linda Monnett of Fritch; two brothers, A.J. Lundy of Wimberley and Clifford Lundy of New Braunfels; three sisters, Ethel Braswell of New Braunfels, Sybil Hughes of San Marcos and Noel Lee Braswell of Marshall; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home or the Diabetes Foundation. Eugene Garrett MEMPHIS - Eugene Garrett, 67, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. Hughes of Amarillo. Mr. Garrett was born in Lakeview and lived in Memphis for many years. He was employed as a maintenance man for Montgomery Ward Co., and was a Baptist. Survivors include six brothers, Michael Garrett of Amarillo, Clarence Garrett, Finis Jr., and General Garrett, all of Dallas, and Ben Garrett and Henry Garrett, both of Los Angeles; and three sisters, Ida McKay of Memphis, Hannah Scott of Walnut, Calif., and Ollie Whitmore of Ontario, Calif. Mary Ethel Gulley Wiseman QUANAH - Mary Ethel Gulley Wiseman, 92, of Rock Hill, S.C., died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. today in Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Mill, S.C. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Quanah with Jack Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mrs. Wiseman was born in Huntsville, Ala., and grew up in Quanah. She later lived in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was a member of Charlotte Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse F. Wiseman, and two children, Jesse F. Wiseman Jr. and Peggy Marie Wiseman. Survivors include a son, Chuck Wiseman of Fort Mill; a daughter, Billie J. Dewhirst of Clarksville, Ind.; a brother, Grady Gulley of Arizona; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Reddy was born in Ovilla and attended school in Webb. In 1924, she moved to Floydada where she was a retired homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Floydada. She married Clarence S. Reddy in 1924 at Webb. He died in 1958. Survivors include a son, Lewis Reddy of Floydada; four daughters, Janet Hulsey of Lubbock, Joyce Roach of Robert Lee, Ruth Harper of Plainview and Nell Green of Midland; a sister, Thelma Blackwell of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 26 greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Floydada Senior Citizens, 301 E. Georgia, Floydada, TX 79235. J.T. Johnson WHEELER - J.T. Johnson, 66, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Tom Stribling, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church of Miami, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Johnson was born in Hereford and graduated from Wheeler High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. For most of his life, he lived in Wheeler. Mr. Johnson was a rancher and a member of the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, PRCA and First Baptist Church. In 1963, he was in the nation's top 10 in calf roping. He married Edwina Brown in 1951 at Wheeler. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shonda Mason of Amarillo and Jana Johnson of Denver; two sisters, June Tipton of Borger and Helen May of Pampa; and three grandchildren. Smith, 89, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monte Kreis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Smith was born in Wellington and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and the First United Methodist Church. In 1969, he retired after 41 years as an engineer in the water department for the city of Dallas. He was also a farmer. He returned to Wellington in 1969. He married Pauline Coble-Cannon in 1977 at Duke, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Linda Johnson and Kathy Coleman, both of Wellington, and Kim West of Flower Mound; a sister, Mary Fetzer of Dallas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church or the Children's Home in Waco. Harold Williams MULESHOE - Harold Williams, 76, of Clovis, N.M., died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe with Willie Tolison, minister of the 16th and Pile Street Church of Christ in Clovis, officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery in Muleshoe. Mr. Williams was born in Roaring Springs and moved to Clovis in 1951 from Muleshoe. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Williams was a civilian employee of Cannon Air Force Base for more than 30 years. He was a member of Muleshoe Masonic Lodge and 16th and Pile Street Church of Christ. He married Marie Roush in 1977 at Fort Sumner, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dan Williams of Las Vegas and Dale Williams of Harlingen; two daughters, Kathy Welborn and Cindy Brindley, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Edward Williams of Stinnett; and five grandchildren.
