She was a comptometer operator for Oklahoma Transportation and a member of St. Joseph Old Cathedral. She is survived by a sister, Mary T. Price of Amarillo. Osage St. Mr. Cardenas was born in Magistral Del Oro, Durango, and moved to Amarillo two years ago from Juarez, Mexico. He worked for Fierro Body Shop in Amarillo and was a member of Ebenezer Church. He married Maria Elena Alvarado in 1964. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Beatriz Fernandez, Maria Estela Vazquez, Ana Maria Rodriguez and Yolanda Gallegos, all of Amarillo; a son, Jose Manuel Cardenas of Juarez; and 16 grandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors by the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 26. Dr. Allen was born in Ontario, Wis., and had lived in Amarillo since 1989. He served with the Navy during World War II. In 1952, he graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry and practiced dentistry for 33 years in both Wisconsin and Nevada. He was past President of Tri-County Dental Society, Rotary Club and P.T.A. of Yerington, Nev. He was a Life Master at duplicate bridge and a member of Unit 210, American Contract Bridge League of Amarillo, where he was past president, and of the Canyon Community Bridge Club and the University Bridge Club. He was Chairman of the Republican Party of Lyon County, Nevada, and he was special assistant to Lt. Governor Ed Fike of Nevada. Survivors include three daughters, Jayne Lee Reynolds of Winnemucca, Nev., Susan Mays of Amarillo and Robin Lynn Pratt of Reno, Nev.; two sons, Craig Hale Allen of Amarillo and Bradford Todd Allen of Blue Ball, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He married Barbara Kay Daniel in 1960 at Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tammy Stephenson of Dumas; two sons, Jamey Brewer and Kevin Brewer, both of Amarillo; a sister, Maxine Gulledge of Childress; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and moved from Dumas to Amarillo, where she lived for 39 years. She was a teacher's aid in the Amarillo Independent School District. Since 1960, she was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 30 years. She married James Jones in 1941 at Oklahoma City. He died in 1992. Survivors include a son, Dan Jones of Dripping Springs; three daughters, Dora Miller and Bonnie Grant, both of Amarillo and Jimmie Nelson of Concordia, Mo.; a brother, Earl Farris of Wheeler; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Hollis Shewmake, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery at Morton by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Rawls was born in Proffitt. She was a longtime resident of Bledsoe and the owner and operator of Marcilla's Beauty Shop. In Cochran County, she was both chairman of the Democratic Party and on the board of the Juvenile Courts. In Precinct No. 3, she was an election judge. She married Harral Rawls in 1946 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1991. Survivors include two sons, Benny Rawls of Kingwood and Terry Rawls of Lubbock; a daughter, Drewcilla Griffiths of Fort Worth; four sisters, Agnes Gober Bowen and Ray Dell Gothard, both of Arlington; three brothers, George Bellomy of Fort Worth, Berry Bellomy of Throckmorton and Bobby Bellomy of Arlington; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Oct. 18, 1999 New Mexico Donald Lee Zimmerman CLOVIS, N.M. - Donald Lee Zimmerman, 61, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mr. Zimmerman was born in Taft, Calif., and was a 1957 graduate of Burmington High School in Van Nuys, Calif. For 22 years, he served in the Air Force, retiring at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico in 1979. He worked for Avil Services and for ENMRSH. For four years, he was assistant store manager at Barry's Hardware. He studied farm machinery repair and carpentry at Clovis Community College. He was a life member of American Legion Post No. 25, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3015 and the Retired Enlisted Sergeants Association. He was also a member of Amvets. He married Jackelyn Freeman in 1962 at Farmington, W.V. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Zimmerman Jr., and Paul Zimmerman, both of Clovis, and Mark Zimmerman of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; two brothers, Carl Zimmerman of Barstow, Calif., and Ken Zimmerman of Clovis, Calif.; a sister, Joan Kapin of Newhall, Calif.; and a grandchild. Amarillo Daily News Oct. 18, 1999 Oklahoma Ethel Jeanette Wilson Knowles TEXHOMA, Okla. - Ethel Jeanette Wilson Knowles, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mrs. Knowles was born in Texhoma and was a 1933 graduate of Texhoma High School. After attending Panhandle College, she received a secretarial degree from the Minnesota School of Business. From 1941 until 1945 and from 1956 until 1985, she worked for First National Bank of Texhoma and retired as vice president after 33 years of service. She was a matron in the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Carnation Garden Club and First Baptist Church. She married John "Jerry" Durward Knowles in 1940. She was preceded in death by both her husband and a grandson, John Douglas Knowles. Survivors include two sons, Don Knowles of Bakersfield, Calif., and Gary Knowles of Denver; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
