Mr. Altman graduated from Amarillo High School in 1967 and worked for many years as store manager for Kline's in Wolflin Village. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by BunchRoberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Montano was born in Los Ojitos Frios, N.M. She was employed by Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M., and retired in 1975. In 1976, Mrs. Montano moved from Las Vegas to Guymon. In 1998, she moved to Las Animas. While in Guymon, she was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, Cursillo and she served as Eucharist minister and was a lector. She married Atanacio Montano in 1938 at Los Ojitos Frios. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Anthony Sanchez and Raymond Montano. Miss Wofford was a lifelong resident of Quanah. She graduated from Quanah High School and attended Vernon Regional Junior College. Miss Wofford formerly owned and operated the Sunshine Manor Nursing Home and was founder and former owner of Tumbleweed Western Wear. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 19, 1999 Maymie Walker Tindall SHAMROCK - Maymie Walker Tindall, 98, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, in First United Methodist Church in Shamrock. Cremation was by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Tindall was born on the family ranch in Collingsworth County and graduated from Wellington High School. She then attended West Texas State College. After moving to Shamrock, she worked at the Forbus and Stone Dry Goods Store. Following her marriage, Mrs. Tindall was a partner in the family business and manager of the barber shop. Later, they moved to Twitty where she worked in the office of the cotton gin that her husband built. They returned to Shamrock in 1938. During World War II, she managed the cotton gin and the filling station. Mrs. Tindall gave private speech lessons and did book reviews for panhandle clubs and banquets. She was member and past president of the Anthenaeum Study Club, First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She married James Melvin Tindall in 1921 at Shamrock. He died in 1972. Survivors include a son, James Ray Tindall of Shamrock; a daughter, Kathleen Tindall Stebbins of San Diego; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A native of Morehouse Parish, La., Mr. Davenport lived in Stinnett and Borger for 69 years. He was a veteran of World War II where he served with the 11th Airborne as a paratrooper in the Army in the South Pacific. Mr. Davenport was employed as a warehouse man for Phillips Petroleum for 40 years. He was a member of Stinnett United Methodist Church and active in Stinnett baseball program. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Davenport, in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Roger Davenport of Miami and David Davenport of Canyon; and six grandchildren. Rob Seale, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Brogdon was born in Clarendon where she lived for most of her life. From 1957 until 1977, she lived in Amarillo. She was a child care-giver and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Barney Ray Brogdon in 1957 at Clarendon. He died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray "Chuck" Brogdon, in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Pillard of Amarillo; two sons, Don Brogdon of Amarillo and Jay Brogden of Roswell, N.M.; her mother, Lora Mae Moffett of Clarendon; a brother, James Carroll Moffett of Panhandle; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in the White Deer Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in University Avenue Church of Christ in Austin with Dean Smith, minister, officiating. Mr. Travis was born in White Deer where he attended school. He served in the Army from 1957 until 1959. He earned two degrees from the University of Texas then worked for the Austin and Plainview Independent School Districts. Mr. Travis was school superintendent in Cairo, Egypt, and remained in international education after receiving his doctorate in education from the University of Houston. He was superintendent of schools at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Munich, Germany, Clear Creek Country, Colo., and Mexico City, Mexico. In 1995, Mr. Travis retired from the Texas Education Agency. He was a founding member of Near East South Asia, past president of the Association for the Advancement of International Education, Association of International Schools in Africa and the Lion's Club. He was a Mason, a member of American Association of School Administrators, Phi Delta Kappa and the European Council of International Schools. Mr. Travis was a visiting professor at the University of South Carolina, the University of Arkansas and the University of Houston. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael. Survivors include his wife, Laverne; six children, Barrett Travis of Los Angeles, Tim Travis of Cedar Park, DeLynn Satterwhite of Moscow, Russia, Gordon Satterwhite of Lubbock, Donna Urbanczyk of White Deer and Della Lummus of Amarillo; his mother, Elva Amelia Travis of Anchorage, Alaska; his stepmother, Loren Travis of White Deer; a sister, Peggy Bohannon of Anchorage; three stepsisters, Theresa Gann of Houston, Carolyn Orr of Amarillo and Vivian Ballard of White Deer; a stepbrother, Bill Housely of Bellville; and 15 grandchildren. Burial will follow with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Willingham, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dumas, and the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clayton, N.M., officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Rammage was born in Dalhart and spent much of his early life in Felt, Okla., and Texline. He was a veteran of World War II. In 1956, he moved to Dalhart where he worked as a city employee until 1973. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Texline Masonic Lodge No. 1135. He married Margaret Louise Wheeler in 1946 at Capulin, N.M. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Joe Rammage of Dumas, Albert Rammage of Plano and Gene Rammage of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Beth Phillips of Garland and Winnie Hagenah of Fowler, Colo.; three brothers, Jim Rammage of Checotah, Okla., Bill Rammage of Texline and Joe Rammage of Dalhart; a sister, Agnes Taylor of Udall, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In 1915, she moved to Logan and graduated from high school in Beaver in 1921. She attended college at Goodwell, Okla., and taught school. She lived near Booker until establishing a home in Darrouzett in 1945. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school classes. She was a charter member of her neighborhood HEO Club. She married Albert M. Daily in 1924 at Arnett, Okla. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Zoa Faye Berge of Darrouzett; a grandson; and three great-grandsons. Horace Abbott, pastor, and Randy Tenery, grandson of Sweetwater, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Tenery was born in Italy, Texas, and moved to Plainview in 1942 where he farmed. He worked for K.K. Hufstedler from 1949 until 1958. In 1959, he started J.O. Tenery & Son Pump Co. Mr. Tenery was a member of Texas Water Well Association, Gould Professional Dealers Association and Trinity United Methodist Church. He was church treasure, superintendent of Sunday school and served on many committees. He married Loraine Briles in 1933 at Milford.
