Miles Lester F. Miles, 70, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Ron Sullivan of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Miles was born in Newton County, Mississippi, and was a television technician. He was a veteran of the Navy and a member of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene. In 1962, he moved to Amarillo from Salt Lake City. He married Yvonne Gray in 1950 at Philadelphia, Miss. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melinda Eaton and Brenda Norris, both of Amarillo; a brother, Floyd Miles of Thackerville, Okla.; two sisters, Maybelle Warren and Nell Lancaster, both of Newton, Miss.; stepmother, Alma Miles of Newton; and a grandchild. Amarillo Daily News Dec. 20, 1999 Lloyd William Ridgeway Lloyd William Ridgeway, 79, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999. Private burial was in Tonkawa, Okla. Arrangements were by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Ridgeway was born in Tonkawa and was a retired truck driver and longtime resident of Amarillo. He served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731 and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1475. Survivors include a son, Richard Ray Ridgeway of Blanchard, Okla.; a daughter, Guylene Griffin of Canyon; and a grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave. Mrs. Castleberry was born in Swaring and moved to Amarillo in 1937 from Gainsville. She was a homemaker and a member of Valleyview Church of the Nazarene. She married Horace John Castleberry in 1937 at Canyon. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Barbara Moore and Dortha Russell, both of Amarillo; a son, Duane Castleberry of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Spradlin was born in Clayton, where he graduated from Clayton High School in 1948. He served with the Army during the Korean War and from 1947 until 1968, worked at the Farmers and Stockmans Bank. In 1968, he started Spradlin Bookkeeping Service, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, was a trustee and on the Finance Committee. He married Ilene Jones in 1955 at Mount Dora. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janae Vandiver of Clayton; three sons, Sam Spradlin of Amarillo, Texas, and Ron Spradlin and David Spradlin, both of Albuquerque; three brothers, Sidney Spradlin of Plano, Texas, Alvin Spradlin of Albuquerque and John Spradlin of Tucson, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Jordan was born in Dunn and served with the Navy during World War II. In 1950, he graduated from Texas Tech University and from 1965 until 1983 was President of First State Bank of Tulia. He later served as President of First State Bank of Shallowater and was Regional Director for the State of Texas Banking Department. He was a member of Monterey Church of Christ and the Agape Sunday school class. He married Irene Duke in 1950 at Artesia, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug Jordan of Lubbock and Gregg Jordan of Amarillo; a daughter, Deborah Titus of Lubbock; a brother, Harold Jordan of Oklahoma City; a sister, Lenora Olson of Colfax, Iowa; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Turnage was born in Kelton. She was a longtime resident of McLean, where she was a member of the Church of Christ and an aide in the Home Health Care profession. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Back; a daughter, Molita "Cookie" Cranfill; and a granddaughter, Linda Ellis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Carter officiating. Burial will be in Morton Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton. Mr. Miller was born in Fremont, Mich. He was a member of the Texas Tech University Ex-students Association and received a master's degree from the University of Nebraska. He was Farm Manager for C.C. Slaughter Farm and a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and the Morton Lions Club. In 1989, he moved from Morton to Lubbock, where he was a member of Westmont Christian Church. He married Katherine Mebus in 1941 at El Paso. She died in 1979. He married Nancy Bowser in 1982 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Miller Thomas of Roswell, Ga., and Tooter Miller Gardner of Anderson, Mo; a stepdaughter, Diane Madison of Valley Center, Kan; a stepson, David Bowser of Amarillo; a brother, Paul D. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born in Tyler and served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He moved to Stinnett in 1949, was a member of Assembly of God and retired as an electrician from Southwestern Public Service Company. She retired as a nurse from Athens Nursing Home and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In 1982, she moved to Panhandle. She married Earl Dennis in 1930 at Hollis, Okla. He died in 1977. Her son, Joe Dennis, died in 1995. Survivors include seven sons, Tom Dennis of Panhandle, Kenneth Dennis, Don Dennis, Chess Dennis and Charles Dennis, all of Amarillo, Bruce Dennis of Hollis and Jerry Dennis of Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Reba Reining of Panhandle and Winnie Capshaw of Oklahoma City; 21 grandchildren; and 19 greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Garland was born in Plainview and graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor University in 1945. She married Ed Garland in 1951 at San Angelo and, in 1954, they moved to the Perryton area and were among the founders of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Perryton. She was a homemaker and worked for a number of years in Betty's Dress Shop. Her husband died in 1995. Survivors include a son, Bill Garland of Annandale, Va.; and a grandchild. Mr. Bradford was born in Benjamin and was a retired farmer and rancher. In 1952, he moved to Roaring Springs and in 1982, to Matador. He married Opal Newman in 1932 at Frederick, Okla. Mr. Murray was born in Till, raised in Hartley and moved to Dalhart in the mid 1920s. For more than 37 years, he worked for HWB Grocery Warehouse. He was a Methodist. He married Dorothy Hancock in 1943 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Dorothy Frazier, Linda Miller Ann Vasquez, Penny Romero and Jody Salas, all of Dalhart; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
