Mrs. Correll was born in Cushing, Okla., and raised in San Jon, N.M. She married Guy W. Correll in 1929. They moved to Amarillo in the 1930s and moved to Florida in the 1960s. They returned to Amarillo five years ago. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in October. Survivors include three nephews, Jack Pearson of Amarillo, Ted Whatley of Denver, and Harry Hopper of Oklahoma City; and three nieces, Delores Morris of Mesa, Ariz., Karen Schmidt of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Gretchen Brashear of Tucumcari, N.M. He retired as an engineer from Rock Island Railroad, served with the Army from 1942 until 1944 and was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church. His son, Tommy Wilkinson, died in 1949. He married Betty Jo DeBusk in 1946 at Memphis. Mr. Fletcher was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, graduated from Cedar City School, attended Cedar Falls High School and was a foreman of a department store. In Amarillo, he was on the board of directors of Crime Stoppers, Amarillo City Tax Equalization, High Plains Board of Expansion and Development and Ambucs. He founded Cosmopolitan Investment in 1954 and served as the CEO until 1992. In 1992, he founded Always Best Inc. and served as president until his retirement in 1997. He also served on the board of Texas Consumer Association and the Texas Association of Rental Agents. For 34 years, he was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church where he was on the Stewardship committee and taught Sunday school. He served as chairman on the church finance committee, the Administrative Board and the Northwest District Finance Board. He also served on the board of directors of the Amarillo Chapter of the American Red Cross and Faith City Mission. He married Willaphene Sartor in 1964 at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Milton McNeely, Carlton Fletcher and Leonard Monson, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Velvet McCurry and Kathy Fletcher, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Leonard Fletcher of Amarillo and Donald Fletcher of Abilene; two sisters, Alice Rockwell of Tennessee and Dorothy Troutwine of Illinois; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Pierson was born in Amarillo and was the owner/operator of Johnny Pierson Used Cars for over 40 years. He served with the Navy during World War II, with the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Hereford Veterans of Foreign Wars. He moved to Lake Texhoma in 1990. He married Barbara Galusha in 1969 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; four sons, John F. Mrs. Schmitz was born in St. Joseph, Mo., and graduated from St. Joseph High School. While attending West Texas State College, she worked as secretary for the principal of Canyon High School. In 1953, she moved from Canyon to Amarillo, where she was a member of the Garden Club and Bridge Club. She married George T. Schmitz in 1947 at St. Joseph. She is survived by her husband. From 1977 until 1993, she lived in Levelland, where she was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. She married Calvin B. Earley in 1929 at Tahoka. He died in 1996. Her son, Donald Wayne Earley, died in 1963. Mrs. Bugbee was born on the Shoe Nail Ranch in Childress County and had been a resident of Armstrong County since 1932. She graduated from Mills College in California. She was a homemaker and an Episcopalian. She married Thomas Everett Bugbee Jr. in 1932 at Childress County. He died in 1966. Survivors include a cousin, William E. Sager of Childress; two sisters-in-law, Betty Bugbee Reed and Ethel Bugbee Long, both of San Diego; and a special friend, Emma Boateng of Amarillo. He served with the Coast Guard during World War II and retired from Phillips Petroleum as a lead-off man. His wife, Maxine Shelton, died in 1994. He attended Darrouzett High School and was a farmer and rancher. He was named Outstanding Farmer-Cooperator, Outstanding Conservationist in 1969 and 1987 and was runner-up for the Region 1 Southwest Conservation District Outstanding Farmer. He was a member of the Lipscomb County Agriculture Committee and was active with the 4-H and FFA clubs. He served on the Darrouzett School Board, the Co-op Board, the North Plains Underground Water District Committee, was Farm Bureau director, Soil and Water district director and served two terms as American Legion commander. Mr. Miller served with the Army during World War II and was a member of Darrouzett St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was treasurer and a council member for many years. He married Lillian Pell in 1947 at Darrouzett. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. Ron Miller of Plainview and Danny Miller of Amarillo; a brother, Leo Miller of Booker; a sister, Ruth Ginter of Lipscomb; and four grandchildren. Beatrice P. Stoerner ROSWELL, N.M. - Beatrice "Bea" P. Stoerner, 52, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. New Mexico services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by La Grone Funeral Chapel of Roswell. Mrs. Stoerner was born in Plainview, raised on a farm in Kress and graduated from Kress High School in 1965. She graduated from West Texas State University in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in English and biology and, in 1984, from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M., with a master's degree in biology. For 11 years she taught biology and micro-biology at Eastern New Mexico University and served on numerous committees. In 1997, she received the KOSA award for teaching excellence. In 1987, she moved to Roswell, where, as a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she sang with the choir and was a youth counselor for six years. She married Larry Stoerner in 1969 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son, Scott Stoerner of Lubbock; a daughter, Sandy Ohnstad of Las Vegas; and a brother, Tony Barbian Jr. of Plainview.
