Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Romines was born in Okmulgee, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God. She married James "Peewee" Romines in 1943 at Pampa. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Keven Romines and Freddie Romines, both of Pampa; a daughter, Shirlene Topper of Pampa; two sisters, Mildred Salsman of Pampa and Ilene Baxter of Stillwater, Okla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Pampa Sheltered Workshop or Pampa Fellowship of Christian Cowboys. Samuel Truett Wiseman HEREFORD - Samuel Truett Wiseman, 79, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Christian Assembly Church with the Rev. Larry Perkins and the Rev. Randy Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by Rix Funeral Home of Hereford. Mr. Wiseman was born in Armstrong County and moved to Hereford in 1954. He attended school in Claude. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and attended the Christian Assembly Church. He married Oma Dea Hinkle in 1938. She died in 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Shirin Finley of Hereford and Stella Jo Dudley of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, John Wiseman of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Lung Association. Jim McKay FOLLETT - Jim McKay, 67, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Mr. McKay was born in Turkey, Texas, and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1974 from Dimmitt. He moved to Follett in 1993 from Hereford. He was a truck driver. He married Veda Golden in 1951 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie McKay of Hereford and David McKay of Perryton; a daughter, Donna Cornett of Follett; three sisters, Janice Stewart of Turkey, Joyce Reed of Amarillo and Judy Mulnick of Clarendon; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. James Alvarez Jr. TULIA - James Alvarez Jr., infant son of Eliaza Benavidez and James Alvarez, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. John Dee Goodwin DUMAS - John Dee Goodwin, 95, died Friday, March 19, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. H.L. Stevens, retired Assembly of God pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Goodwin was born in Russellville, Ky., where he was a longtime resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a carpenter. From 1978 until 1991, he lived in Dumas and then moved to Amarillo. He married Louetta Johnson in 1961 at Russellville. She died in 1991. Survivors include three nephews, Bobby Goodwin of Frankfort, Ky., Charles S. Elliott and Richard E. Elliott, both of Dumas; and a niece, Martha Goodwin of Frankfort. The family will be at 514 Durrett in Dumas. Harvey Hugh Graham LEFORS - Harvey Hugh Graham, 78, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Lefors with the Rev. Lewis Ellis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Graham was born in Rush, Ark., and had been a resident of Lefors and Gordonville for most of his life, returning to Lefors in 1993. A retired pipe fitter and welder, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. He attended First Baptist Church. He married Emma Timmons in 1941 at Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Roberson of Lefors and Beverly Chace of Pampa; a sister, Dorothy Hefley of Mountain Homes, Ark.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101. Walter Deger WELLINGTON - Walter Deger, 89, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Mr. Deger was born in Bray, Okla., and attended school in the Aberdeen Community. Until his retirement in 1976, he was a farmer and rancher in the Lutie area. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Trula Marshall in 1927 at Hollis, Okla. She died in 1990. Survivors include a son, Denzil Deger of Clarendon; a brother, Hardy Deger of Fort Worth; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Mr. Stephens was born in Moore County and was a lifelong resident of Borger and Fritch. An Army veteran, he also was a heavy equipment operator. Jorgenson BORGER - Genevieve E. Jorgenson, 87, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones, pastor, officiating. She was active in the Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women and Circle, Amity Sunday School Class and sang in the choir. She was a patron of the Music Club and a member of Borger Federated Music Club and the Knitwits Club. She married Earl William Jorgenson in 1932 at Erskin, Minn. He died in 1970. Survivors include a son, Dwayne Jorgenson of Maplewood, Minn.; a daughter, Erlene Hagburg of Borger; a sister, Ruth Swenby of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Palo Duro Cemetery in Wildorado. Mrs. Godsey was born in Shawnee, Okla., and had lived in Bushland since 1930. She was a songwriter, poet, retired postmistress of Bushland and worked for the Bushland Oil and Gas Co. She was a member of Bushland Baptist Church. She married Verner C. Godsey in 1925 at Shawnee, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and by a son, Jim Godsey. Survivors include a son, Bill Godsey of Abilene; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to service time at the funeral home. "Squee" Thompson Jr., 79, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Raymond Bowlin, pastor of Bushland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born in Amarillo where he was a lifelong resident. A 1939 graduate of Amarillo High School, he was a World War II veteran of the Army. He landed at Normandy and fought in the Battle of the Bulge as well as the battle at Rhineland. He received three Purple Hearts and three Bronze Stars. For more than 20 years, Mr. Thompson owned and operated B&T Auto Supply in Canyon. In 1995, he retired from Motor Parts in Amarillo. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Palo Duro Creek Golf Club. He married Maudie Shea in 1940 at Amarillo. She died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Everitt of Amarillo and Mary Hicks of Atascadero, Calif.; two sisters, Margarett Ferguson of Amarillo and Mary Chambers of Skellytown; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 4432 S. Fannin. They suggest memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. New Mexico Fidelia M. Ulibarri CLOVIS, N.M. - Fidelia M. Ulibarri, 84, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community by the Rev. Daniel Balizan. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Fidelia was born in Pintada. She married Antonio Abel Ulibarri in 1933 at Anton Chico. They moved to Clovis in 1943. She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 and by a son, Ralph, in 1998. Survivors include a son, Phillip Ulibarri of Clovis; four daughters, Nina Chavez, Viola Cortez, Judy Vega and Cathy Maez, all of Clovis; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Laura Lamb Perdue GUYMON, Okla. - Laura Lamb Perdue, 66, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Perdue was born in Patricks Cove, Newfoundland, Canada, and moved to the Guymon area in 1970 from Taipei, Taiwan. She was a member of Free Will Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had been a nurse's aide at Dunaway Manor for several years. She had been married to Don Lamb. In 1996, she married Charles Perdue. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Lorina "Rena" Weikle of Guymon, Phyllis Felton of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Barbara McCrobie of Tunnelton, W.Va.; a son, Walter McGrath of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada; two brothers; six sisters; and nine grandchildren. Harry Harvey Barker GUYMON, Okla. - Harry Harvey Barker, 93, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Cathy Henry officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Hugoton Cemetery at Hugoton, Kan. Mr. Barker was born in Chillicothe, Texas, and moved to the Hardesty area in the early 1920s from the Perryton, Texas, area. He worked in the maintenance department at the Carbon Black Plant at Ryus, Kan. He moved to Hugoton and worked at the City Light Plant. He married Virgie Martin in 1926. In 1966, he married Viola Vivian Kirk at Tucumcari, N.M. She died in 1993. He also was preceded in death by a son, Gene Barker. Survivors include three daughters, Beulah Thornton and Ann Bugner, both of Guymon, and Virgie Lawson of Euless, Texas; a son, Jerald Barker of Yuba City, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
