Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Don Wirsdorfer, pastor, and Bill Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Tidmore was born in Chillicothe and was a lifetime resident of Hardeman County. He was a retired plumber and an Army veteran of the 42nd Division of World War II serving in the European Theater. He served as a board member of the Hardeman County Historical Commission and was a member of First Christian Church. He married Sue Crow in 1938 at Mangum, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Tidmore of Austin and Jeff Tidmore of Canyon; a sister, Ann Tidmore Leeth of Houston; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Christian Church or the Hardeman County Historical Commission. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today for visitation. Phillip Van Wordon Lillard MEMPHIS - Phillip Van Wordon Lillard, 59, died Monday, April 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Lillard was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was a teacher and coached several years in Texas and Oklahoma high schools and junior highs. For the past 26 years, he had been the co-owner and operator of the Memphis Dairy Queen. He was an Army veteran and was a paratrooper. He was a Methodist church member and a member of the Lions Club. He married Annell Wentz in 1967 at Durant, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sandra Gross of Amarillo, Sheryl Salazar of Amarillo, and Lisa Lillard of Austin; a brother, Paul Lillard of Jacksboro; a sister, Betty Lillard of Guadalajara; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Elizabeth M. Phillips DUMAS - Elizabeth M. Phillips, 71, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church of Dumas, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was born in Carnegie, Okla., and had live in Dumas since 1950. She retired after 13 years as a cook for the Dumas Noon Lions Club and was a longtime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9022. She married Edward Phillips in 1944 at Carnegie. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tommy Phillips of Amarillo; two daughters, Kathie Black and Lena Hanson, both of Dumas; two brothers, Darrell Ratliff of Oklahoma City and Bobby Ratliff of Skiatook, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Edmonson Jr., 72, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in West Park Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Cosby, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hereford, officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Edmonson was born in Plainview and moved to Hereford in 1928 where he attended schools. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and then was in the retail furniture business. He worked for Hereford Truck Line and Armour and Company and was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Lonidene Martin in 1944 at San Diego. Survivors include two daughters, Jamie Obremsky of Arlington and Cheryl Lawrence of Duncanville, and two grandsons Johnnie Bill Winkle CLARENDON - Johnnie Bill Winkle, 69, died Monday, April 19, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Robertson Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Born in Talco in Titus County, Mr. Winkel was a resident of Clarksville for most of his life. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Clarendon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7782. In 1981, he retired as a logger. Mr. Winkle moved to Clarendon 11 years ago. He was a Baptist. He married Velvet Lee Brumley in 1966 at Clarksville. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Charles Lynn Winkle of Austin, Raymond Winkle and Andrew Winkle, both of Clarendon, Lester Winkle of Amarillo and Billy Joe Winkle of Paris; a brother, R.J. Randy Weatherley FRIONA - Randy "Red" Weatherley, 55, formerly of Celeste, died Monday, April 19, 1999. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Celeste Cemetery in Celeste by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Weatherley was born in Greenville and was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He was formerly employed as a sales manager for Hi-Pro Feeds and then was self-employed as a cowboy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Men's Breakfast Club, American Quarter Horse Association and the American Paint Horse Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Weatherley, in 1988. Tracy Lynn Brooks DUMAS - Tracy Lynn Brooks, 25, died Monday, April 19, 1999. A farmer, he was a member of the Travis Baptist Church and the Masons. He married Violet Mae Rogers in 1937 at Montague County. She died in 1990. Survivors include a son, Bill Paschall of Amarillo; two daughters, Barbara Germany of Wichita Falls and Pam Bruce of Hale Center; a brother, Ira Paschall of Vernon; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Byron Lynn Nesbitt BORGER - Byron Lynn Nesbitt, 51, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fritch Church of Christ with Richard Kasko, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. A native of Phillips, Mr. Nesbitt was a lifetime resident of the Borger area. From 1975 until 1999, he was an operator at the Johnson Tank Farm for Phillips Petroleum. He was a member and steward of the worksman committee for Local Union No. 351. Mr. Nesbitt was recipient of the Hope Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He was a member of Fritch Church of Christ and served as a board member of Borger Community Activity Center and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He started the Multiple Sclerosis Walk. He married Shirley Ayers in 1969 at Spearman. Survivors include his wife, and a daughter, Kisaundra Harris of Canyon. The family will be at 1109 sterling. Amarillo Ernestine Wallace Ernestine Wallace, 78, of Amarillo, died Friday, April 16, 1999. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. McSmith was born in Amarillo where he had lived all his life. He was a truck driver for many years for Affiliated Foods. With his wife, he owned and operated the L.A. Diner in Claude for six years. He retired in 1991 from Clay-Hyder Trucking. He was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ. He married Myra Rotenberry in 1970 at Fort Worth. She died in 1998. Survivors include three sons, John McSmith and Randy McSmith, both of Amarillo, and Charles Raef of San Antonio; two daughters, Emily Haggard of Amarillo and Elizabeth Raef of San Antonio; a sister, Lou Britten of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Justin was born in Amarillo and moved to Dumas in 1993. He graduated from Dumas High School in May. While at Dumas High School, he was a drummer in the band and was named in the Who's Who Among American High School Students. He returned to Amarillo after graduation and was a member of Liberty Church. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mike and Stacey Crafton of Dumas; his mother, Cindy Whitfield of Amarillo; two brothers, Shane Crafton of Amarillo and Matthew Crafton of Dumas; a sister, Alicia Whitfield of Marshall; his grandparents, Buell and Nadine Crafton of Amarillo and Daryl and Mary Wylie of Canyon; and great-grandmother, Alice Peters of Amarillo. She had worked for Blackburn's and Colberts. She was a member of the Sunshiners at Central Church of Christ. She married Ralph Hill in 1988 at Amarillo. Her first marriage was to Paul E. Nelson in 1938. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1979 and a son, Paul E. Nelson Jr. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Barbara Potts of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Roy Duke of Carlsbad, N.M.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ollie Avis Perry Ollie Avis Perry, 84, of Amarillo, died Monday, April 19, 1999. For most of her life, she worked in dry cleaning and retired after 20 years with Bob's Cleaners. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church. She married O.L. "Dick" Perry in 1932 at Murchison. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and by two sons, R.L. Perry and James Leo Perry. Survivors include three daughters, Maurice Novak, Faye George and Pauline Bruce, all of Amarillo; two brothers, C.A. Brewer of Goodnight and James A. Brewer of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren. West, 87, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Memorial services will be at a later date in Bonham where he will be buried. Mr. West was born in Bonham where he graduated from high school in 1930. At Bonham High School, he participated in track, baseball, basketball and football, earning 10 varsity letters. From 1957 until 1977, he lived in Amarillo where he was employed in sales for Caterpillar Machinery Co. Mr. West moved back to Bonham for 15 years before retiring to Amarillo. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Amarillo and First United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge No. 13 in Bonham. He married Reba Nadine Mathis in 1935. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Reynolds of Plantation, Fla., and Reba Jo Fleming of Amarillo; two sisters, Georgia Lou West of Austin and Ruth Markwood of Henderson, Nev.; a brother, Harry G. West of Timberon, N.M.; six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Jones was born in Fort Smith, Ark., and had lived in San Saba for three years. He was employed in office supply sales and was a Lutheran. He was a member of the Civitans. He married Johnnie Nord in 1961 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Frank Jones of San Saba and Thomas Jones of Washington; two daughters, Angela Wright of Monahans and Paula Jane Jones of San Saba; his mother, Mabel Jones of Monahans; two brothers, John Paul Jones of Wisconsin and Jim Jones of Montgomery, Ala.; four grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Box 295, Cherokee, TX 76832. John E. Pond ABILENE - John E. Pond, 53, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home of Abilene. Mr. Pond was born in Murdo, S.D., and had lived in Abilene for the past 10 years. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science degree then received his master's degree from Abilene Christian University. For several years, Mr. Pond was a vocational agricultural teacher in Pampa, Spearman and Wheeler. He taught at Madison Middle School in Abilene. He was a member of the Agriculture Science Teachers Association and the Southwest Baseball Umpires Association. Mr. Pond was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he was in The John Mark Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men. He served in the Navy as a Seabee and was in the Naval Reserve. He married Sue Church in 1973 at Abilene. Survivors include his wife; a son, J Pond of Abilene; his mother, Mildred Juet Ohlhausen of Abilene; four brothers, Jerry Pond and Joel Pond, both of Allen, James Pond of Arlington and Joe Pond of Alaska. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
