Harrison Mamie Y. Harrison, 92, of Austin and a former Amarillo resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Dr. Jim Garrett, senior minister of Polk Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Harrison was born in Brice and graduated from high school in 1925. She attended West Texas Normal College in Canyon and business school in Wichita Falls. She was a bookkeeper for Jeff Bentley, CPA. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, the CoWorkers Sunday School Class and Order of Eastern Star. She was member and past president of the auxiliary of the Society of Professional Engineers. She married Frank G. Harrison in 1931 at Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and by a son, Bill F. Harrison, in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Gruhlkey of Austin; a sister, Gywn Kessler of Austin; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to St. Jude's Children's Research Center, Memphis, TN. Mary Lynn Rogers Mary Lynn Rogers, 72, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Smyer officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Rogers was born in Amarillo where she had lived all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mrs. Rogers was a past president of the Panhandle Dental Auxiliary, past president of the Junior League, Docent of the Amarillo Art Museum, president of the Little Flower Mission Guild, past member of the Symphony Guild, past member of St. Anthony's Auxiliary, and had served as secretary of the Amarillo County Club Tennis Association. She married James S. Rogers in 1953 in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Lynn Stroud, Gail Nickum and Karen Goree, all of Amarillo; a son, James S. Rogers Jr. of Amarillo; two sisters, Doris Downey of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Rita Freeman of Amarillo; three brothers, Jack Herrmann of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dick Herrmann and Jerry Herrmann, both of Amarillo; and 10 grandchildren. Kathleen Howard Glazener Kathleen Howard "Kathy" Glazener, 60, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. There will be an informal memorial service Saturday in Amarillo. The family will be at 3401 Hughes. Louise Billington Louise Billington, 94, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Billington was born in Hillsboro, Kan., and moved to Amarillo in 1950 from Gould, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. She married Roy Lee Billington in 1926 at Gould. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and by a son, Ray Billington, in 1998. Survivors include five sons, Roy Vernon Billington of Wickenburg, Ariz., James Charles Billington of Vilonia, Ark., Arnold Don Billington and William Melvin Billington, both of Amarillo, and Jerry Dean Billington of Lubbock; a daughter, Laneva Ann Brown of Hereford; nine brothers and sisters; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Antioch Cemetery Fund. New Mexico Neils Dale Jensen CLOVIS, N.M. - Neils Dale Jensen, 71, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Mr. Jensen was born in Northern Pottawatomie County, Kan. He was retired from the Army and also worked for the state of New Mexico. He married Mary Maude Smith in 1957. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Nancy Perkins, in 1996. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dolores Jeffers of New York; two stepsons, Ronnie Crumb and Eugene Calkins of Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Lewis Eugene Crawford CLOVIS, N.M. - Lewis Eugene Crawford, 68, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Crawford was born in Chatham, Ill. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and carman/mechanic for the railroad in Illinois. He moved to Clovis in 1988. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Survivors include a daughter, Kim Gabel of Clovis; a sister, Irene Altman of Phoenix; and two grandchildren. Area Maggie B. Hefley TEXLINE - Maggie B. Hefley, 102, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. CST Friday in Texline United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hestand, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, N.M. Mrs. Hefley was born on a ranch near Canadian. In 1914, her family moved from Higgins to the Texline community where she graduated from high school in 1916. She attended West Texas Normal College and worked at a bank in Texline for several years. She married Robert F. "Bob" Hefley in 1927 at Texline where they ranched for several years. He died in 1956. Mrs. Hefley was a member of Texline United Methodist Church since 1914 and a member of Texline Eastern Star since 1926. In 1989, she moved to Panhandle and then moved to Dalhart in 1997. Survivors include a son, Richard Hefley of Texline; two daughters, Bobbye Wood of Tucson, Ariz., and Sue Persons of Panhandle; and nine grandchildren. Lillian Dean Cummings PANHANDLE - Lillian Dean Cummings, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. A native of Anding, Miss., Mrs. Cummings had been a Carson County resident since 1926. She was a member of the Panhandle Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes. She was a homemaker, assistant farmer and a charter member of the King Home Demonstration Club. She married David "Dee" Cummings in 1928 at Monahans. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry Cummings of Duncanville; two daughters, Joyce Frashier of Panhandle and Sharon Young of Abilene; two brothers, David Kirk of Sun City, Ariz., and James Howell Kirk of Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Faulkner of Decatur and Yvette Kirk of Ramona, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rothwell was born in Loco, Okla. She was a homemaker. She married Arthur Rothwell in 1926 at Tell. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Billy Joe Rothwell of Childress; a daughter, Barbara Smith of Childress; four sisters, Vivian Jones and Vera Blair, both of Childress, Pauline Pace of Bellview and Juanita Hein of Oakdale, Calif.; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Lela Wieland EARTH - Lela Wieland, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Earth with the Rev. Bobby Broyles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Claunch Cemetery in Claunch, N.M., by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Wieland was born in Childress. In 1992, she moved to Earth from Albuquerque, N.M. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Earth. She married Leon "Dutch" Winfred Wieland in 1935 at Lubbock. He died in 1983. Survivors include two sons, William Kay Wieland of Albuquerque and Billie Wayne Wieland of Spring; a daughter, Robbie Parish of Earth; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Earth, 79031, or Earth EMS of Earth, 79031. Allan Webb DIMMITT - Allan Webb, 78, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rusty Dickerson, pastor, and the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt. Mr. Webb was born near Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1937. He attended Texas Tech University and began flying lessons in 1939. He attended Cadet School and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps a month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. During World War II, Mr. Webb was a flight instructor in Albuquerque and Roswell, N.M., Denver, Homestead, Fla., and Reno, Nev., until 1944 when he was assigned to Sookerating, India. For 15 months, he flew 100 round trips delivering supplies, food and material over the "Hump" from India over Burma to China. He was deputy commander of the Air Corps facility at Sook, India, when the war ended. Mr. Webb was discharged in 1945 as a lieutenant colonel. He remained a pilot for 49 years. From 1946 until his retirement, he was in farming and livestock feeding in Castro County. Mr. Webb served on the governing boards of the Plains Memorial Hospital, First United Methodist Church, Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce and the County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. In 1964, he was president of the chamber of commerce and served a term as chairman of the state ASCS Committee. He was on the Dimmitt Municipal Airport Board. He married Peggy Traylor in 1946 at Dallas. She died in 1997. Survivors include a son, Johnny Webb of Plainview; two daughters, Kristi Edwards of Lubbock and A'llan Bradley of Dimmitt; a sister, Mary Jean Copeland of Lake Kiowa; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jizell Arellanes DUMAS - Jizell Arellanes, infant daughter of Rosa and German Arellanes, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Scully, pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Miss Arellanes was born Sunday in Dumas. Survivors include her parents; a sister, Mayra Arellanes of the home; and a brother, Valentin Arellanes of the home. The family will be at 606 First Place in Dumas. Don Stinson PLAINVIEW - Don Stinson, 61, of Edmonson, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. Mr. Stinson was born in Altus, Okla., and grew up in Spade where he graduated from high school. He was an Air Force veteran and then farmed in Spade and Wilcox, Ariz. He moved to Levelland where he worked for John Deere. In 1976, Mr. Stinson became a pilot and moved to Edmonson where he started Stinson Spraying Service. He served as a city councilman in Edmonson. He was a Baptist. He married Wanda Ervin in 1975 at Brownfield. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Donna Riddle and Cheryl Jackson, both of Levelland, and Kim Churchwell and Penny Willis, both of Brownfield; a son, Mike Stinson of Plainview; three brothers, Reece Stinson of Wharton, Robert Stinson of Lubbock and Alan Stinson of Kemah; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Stewart was born in Erick, Okla., and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a farmer and aircraft mechanic who retired after 25 years with Cessna. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and American Legion. He married Wonda in 1963 at Newkirk, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a son, Rodney Stewart of Maize, Kan.; three daughters, Pam Winters of Maize, Susann Sutherland of Andrews and Debra Winter of Haysville, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Ruth Jenkins of Spearman; three stepsons, Stan Terwort of Wichita, Kan., and Evert Terwort and Kenneth Terwort Jr., both of Plano; his mother, Esther Stewart of Amarillo; a sister, Virginia Dancer of Borger; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081. Miguel Segovia Lopez HEREFORD - Miguel Segovia Lopez, 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in New Beginnings Church with the Rev. Armando Pinales, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Lopez was born in Brownsville and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1961 from Laredo. He was a truck driver and worked for Armour Packing Co. of Hereford for 25 years. He married Juana Murillo in 1970 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Lopez Jr., and Jehova Lopez, both of Hereford; two daughters, America Lopez and Juanita Lopez, both of Hereford; a brother, Andres Lopez of Olmito; two sisters, Amalia Cortez and Blanca Cortez, both of Olmito; and eight grandchildren. The family will be at 103 S. Texas No. 2 in Hereford. Willis Reynolds LOCKNEY - Willis Reynolds, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home in Lockney. Mr. Reynolds was born in Tioga where he attended school. Until 1950, he was co-owner of the Tulia Herald. He moved to Lockney in 1950 and owned and operated the local newspaper until 1970. Mr. Reynolds then owned Lockney Printing until his retirement in 1997. He operated the last fully hot-type printing company and was the area's oldest active printer. On Father's Day in 1998, Mr. Reynolds was recognized as the oldest father present at First Baptist Church where he was a member. He was a charter director and member of Lockney Senior Citizens Association, charter member of Lions Club, past member of Lockney Rotary Club and member of both the Panhandle Press Association and Texas Press Association. He married Bernice Jackson in 1934 at Ralls. She died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Jim Reynold of Tulia; a daughter, Janie Baughman of Canyon; a sister, Velma Mye of Canyon; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
