Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ricardo Salditos, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Hernandez was born in Mexico and moved from Van Horn to Morton in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Her husband, Jose Hernandez, died in 1985. Survivors include three sons, Harvey Hernandez, Ralph Hernandez and Salome Franco, all of Morton; five daughters, Minerva Hernandez and Maria Louisa Hernandez, both of Morton, Dora Venagas of Levelland, Delfina Venagas of Dora, N.M., and Maria Lopez Franco of Van Horn; a sister, Inocenta Mendoza of Morton; three brothers, Manuel Hinojos, Perfect Hinojos and Casmira Hinojos, all of Morton; 28 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Vera Whatley PAMPA - Vera Whatley, 92, died Sunday, June 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. John Glover, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Whatley was born in Moore, Okla. She moved to Pampa in 1914 and graduated from Pampa High School in 1924. From 1923 until 1924, she was a member of the Lady Harvester Basketball team. In Pampa, she was chief operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, a member of First Baptist Church and taught in the primary department for 30 years. She was a homemaker. She married Herman Whatley, coowner and co-founder of CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors, in 1929. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Vicki Sanders of Fredericksburg; and a grandchild. Bonnie Gardner TULIA - Bonnie Gardner, 74, died Sunday, June 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Full Gospel Mission Church with Charles Crafton, of Revival Time Christian Church in Sierra Vista, Ariz., officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Gardner was born in Tulia, where she graduated from middle school. She married Doug Gardner in 1940 at Tulia. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Robbie Crafton of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and JoAnn Sims of Tulia; a son, William "Buddy" Gardner of Plainview; and a sister, Tommie Rucker of Tulia. Amarillo Orleanor Alice Bishop Orleanor Alice Bishop, 89, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 18, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Moreland, of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell Street. Mrs. Bishop was born in Garland and moved to Amarillo in 1928. She was a homemaker and one of the first women during World War II on the lines to make TNT bombs at Pantex, where she worked for four years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Rebekah Lodge for 50 years. She married Gerald Bishop in 1929 in New Mexico. He died in 1983. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Morrow, of Amarillo, and a grandchild. Ima Hargrove Ima Hargrove, 100, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Boulevard, with the Rev. Jack Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Hargrove was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1918. She was a spokeswoman for Meals on Wheels and a charter member of West Amarillo Christian Church. She married Vachel A. Hargrove in 1919. He died in 1960. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Sanders of Odessa and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be at 206 S. Independence and suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels. Ola Ray Savage Ola Ray Savage, 78, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, June 18, 1999, in Grapevine. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Mausoleum with the Rev. Lynn Garrett, Minister of Senior Adults at First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Savage was born in Canadian and lived in Amarillo from 1936 until she moved to Keller in 1988. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Albert H. Savage in 1938 at Amarillo. He died in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Alberta Pate of New Orleans; a son, William Edward Savage of Fritch; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Lt. Col. Floyd E. Bonnell Lt. Col. Floyd E. Bonnell, 81, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 20, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Lawton, Okla. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Street. Mr. Bonnell was born in Fort Sumner, N.M., graduated from high school in Gallup, N.M. and attended New Mexico State University. He graduated from Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and entered the Army in 1940. He served in Europe during World War II, in Japan from 1947 until 1949 and during the Korean War. He moved to Amarillo in 1958 from Hawaii as a Senior Adviser to the Army Reserve Forces in the Panhandle. He retired in 1962. He managed the Heritage House Apartments from 1965 until 1976 and Wellington Manor Apartments from 1970 until 1972. He also managed First Presbyterian Church and San Jacinto Baptist Church. He married Dorotha Mae Wickens in 1945 at Fort Worth. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patti Jones of Amarillo; a son, Robert E. of Marengo, Iowa; a sister, Bess Windsor of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Box 19721, Amarillo, TX 79114. New Mexico Uyulass Birchard Mickey McCarty CLAYTON, N.M. - Uyulass Birchard Mickey McCarty, 78, died Saturday, June 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mofax Cemetery, southwest of Gladstone, by Hass Funeral Directors. Miss McCarty was born in Mora County and spent most of her life in the Farley, Gladstone community. In 1987, she moved to Clayton, where she returned in 1998 after living for a short time in Glenwood and Silver City. Survivors include three nephews, Bobbie Johnston of Glenwood, Leland Johnston of Clayton and Carl McCarty of Texline; four nieces, Justene Johnston Kindel of Silver City, Roberta Johnston Maestas of Aztec and Judy McCarty Day and Brenda McCarty; great-nieces and greatnephews. Key, 92, died Sunday, June 20, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Key was born in Oklahoma Territory near Chandler and went to school in LaKemp and high school at Panhandle Agricultural Institute in Goodwell. After attending college, she received a Life Elementary Certificate and taught school for nine years in Beaver and one year at Guymon Junior High. For more than 26 years, she was the bookkeeper for Western Chevrolet Company. In 1981, she retired as payroll clerk for Memorial Hospital of Texas County. In 1995 she was named Texas County Pioneer Queen and was presented a certificate from the state of Oklahoma for the First Families of the Twin Territories. She was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church and was active in the U.M.W. Guild Circle and the Alumni Association of Panhandle State University in Goodwell. She is survived by a sister, Wanda Key Shields of Guymon. Viewing will be from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and until funeral time Tuesday at the funeral home.
