Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Bunch was born in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended West Texas State College. Mrs. Bunch was a member of Central Church of Christ and a volunteer at Baptist St. Anthony's Health System. She married Doyle R. Bunch in 1942 at Amarillo. He died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Doyle R. Bunch II of Evergreen, Colo.; a daughter, Kay Gregory of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will be at 6314 Elmhurst Drive. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Gregg was born in Tishomingo, Okla., and moved to Amarillo 10 years ago from Yukon, Okla. During World War II, he served in the Navy. Mr. Gregg was a professional musician. He played with the Merle Lindsay Band, Leon McAuliffe Band, the Tommy Allsup Band and the Khiva Western Swing Band. In 1998, he was inducted in the Western Swing Hall of Fame. Survivors include a son, Steven Gregg of Florence, Colo.; a sister, Gladys Gregg of Seminole; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. They then moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1967 and moved to Guymon in 1983. Mrs. Cowan was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Joy Circle, and was a volunteer at No Man's Land Senior Citizens Center. She married Dan L. Cowan in 1938 at Kane, Pa. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Ann Cowan Johnson in 1984. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert E. Cowan of Granbury, Texas and Daniel P. In 1991, he retired and moved to Canyon. He had served in the Merchant Marines and was a member of Living Word Fellowship. He married Judith Ann Price in 1975 at Amarillo. His first marriage was to Mary Lue DeLong in 1948. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the Air Force. He was an electrician and instrument man for Phillips Petroleum for 34 years and worked for the National Park Service for 12 years. He was a Baptist, a 32nd-degree Mason in the Billy Dixon Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners. He married Tommie Johnson in 1956 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kenneth Hale of Borger, Joe Hale of Dallas and Mark Hale of Robin Air Force Base, Ga.; a daughter, Tacy Dry of Amarillo; two sisters, Kathy Hindi of Mabank and Mary Engle of Cajon, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Caldwell was born in the Moses Community in New Mexico. In 1925, the family moved to Clayton. Mrs. Caldwell joined the Episcopal United Methodist Church in 1929. After graduation from Clayton High School, she worked for the Soil Conservation Service. In 1938, she was transferred to Dalhart. She married Milton Tatum in 1940. He died in 1941. Mrs. Caldwell moved to Fort Worth and worked for F. Kirk Johnson Oil Co. In 1974, she married Bob Caldwell and moved to Bryan. Following his death in 1994, she moved back to Dalhart. Mrs. Caldwell was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Shirley Miller of Dalhart. She graduated from high school in Wellsville, Kan., and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan. In the mid-1920s, Mrs. Eyre moved to Dalhart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked in the children's department. She married Bill Eyre in 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and by a son. Miss Flowers was born in Chico where she graduated from high school. She attended Decatur Baptist College and graduated from North Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in 1934. In 1948, she received her master's degree. Miss Flowers studied Spanish at the University of Texas and the University of Puerto Rico. She taught history and Spanish in junior high school in Plainview from 1937 until her retirement in 1972. During World War II, she worked in Washington, D.C., in the War Department from 1944-45. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wi-MoDau-Sis and Business and Professional Women's Sunday School Classes, Wesleyan Circle and Circle III. Miss Flowers was a 50-plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star where she served as worthy matron in 1945 and 1946 and was organist. She was a member of the Past Matrons Club, Turf Turners Garden Club, American Guild of Organists, Musical Arts Club, Delta Kappa Gamma Iota Chapter and a 50-year member of the American Association of University Women. Miss Flowers was one of the organizers of the Hale County Texas Retired Teachers Association and of the Hale County Senior Citizens Center where she served on the first board of directors. She was a member of the Hale County Historical Commission and Hi-Plains Genealogy Society. Survivors include three sisters, Mamie Day of Livingston, Hazel Flowers of Plainview and Ione Crossland of Canyon; and an aunt of Fort Worth. He was employed in pipeline construction and was a member of First Baptist Church of Spearman. He married Mavis Hugg in 1951 at Dumas. She died in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Eva Reger of Red River, N.M., and Ronda Bynum of Spearman; a stepson, W.L. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, the Rev. Anthony Sisemore, pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Sharon O'Quinn, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Petersburg and Carr's Chapel, officiating. Private burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Word was born in Globe, Ariz. In 1936, he graduated from Austin High School and attended the University of Texas. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps. In 1946, Mr. Word moved to Floydada where he was named Floydada Citizen of the Year in 1989. In 1981, he retired as an insurance agent. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Word was an avocational archaeologist. He helped develop the archaeological preserve in Lubbock. He was a member of the Society of American Archaeology, Texas Archaeological Society, South Plains Archaeological Society, Midland Archaeological Society and Panhandle Archaeological Society. He was president of the Texas society in the mid1960s. He was past president of the American Heart Association, member of the American Cancer Society, Floydada Senior Citizens and was a charter member of the Friends of Floyd County Library. He was a former school board member and a 50year member of the American Legion. A Lion's Club member since 1946, he was president in 1949-50 and chairman of broom sales. Mr. Word was a charter board member of the Floyd County Historical Museum where he had served as president and treasurer. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America, the board of the South Plains Council and was a past scout master. He married Margarette Wasson Bond in 1985 at Floydada. His first marriage was to Dorothy Cousins in 1938 at Austin. She died in 1981. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Ann Carr, Mary Garrett and Elizabeth Atkinson, all of Floydada; two stepsons, Gregory Bond of Granbury and Gordon Bond of Big Bear Lake, Calif.; a sister, Mary Ellen Petty of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She and her husband were house parents for the Grady County Youth Services in Chickasha, Okla., for five years before moving back to Hammon. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Briarwood Full Gospel Church and the Briarwood Senior Group. She married R.A. "Bob" Barnes in 1938 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1987.
