Court CHILDRESS - J.C. "Bud" Court, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999. Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Monday in Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Sims, a Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Court was born in Gustine. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of Seaman Second Class. He was a farmer and was employed by Homer Coats for 13 years. He married Lois Wyvone Rippy in 1972 at Childress. She died in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Roberts of Amarillo; a brother, Connie Court of Amarillo; three sisters, Ethel McCutchon of Childress, Joy Thomas of Tahoka and Weida Collier of Denison; and two grandchildren. Helen Ernst PAMPA - Helen Ernst, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Ernst was born in Range, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1945. She attended high school in Miami. She was a member of the Briarwood Full Gospel Church and was a volunteer for the Good Samaritan Christian Services. She worked for the Coronado Inn as the banquet manager, retiring in 1982. She married Oscar Ernst in 1941 at Miami. Survivors include her husband of the VA nursing home in Amarillo; three daughters, Norine Greer of Pampa, Rose Miller and Rachel Garcia, both of Amarillo; a sister, Alice Jacobs of Manteca, Calif.; three brothers, Clyde Cooper of Tennessee, Clarence Cooper of Carlsbad, N.M., and John Cooper of Bell Garden, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Lois May Alexander DUMAS - Lois May Alexander, 71, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Street Church of Christ with Art Lynch of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Alexander was born in Clayton, N.M. She was a longtime Hugoton, Kan., resident and moved to Dumas in 1950. For several years, she worked for the Dairy Queen and Citizens State Bank in Hugoton. She was a homemaker and member of First Street Church of Christ. She married Andy Alexander in 1944 at Dumas. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bob Alexander of Hobart, Okla., and Ron Alexander of Denton; a sister, Bettie Lou Munkres of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 902 Durrett. They suggest memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Evelyn Swihart Evelyn Swihart, 63, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Shelburne, pastor, officiating. Services are under the direction of the family. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Swihart was born in San Antonio and lived in Amarillo for the past 18 years. She graduated from Midland School and, in 1957, graduated from Sul Ross University. She received her master's degree from West Texas State University. Mrs. Swihart taught at San Jacinto Elementary and Humphrey's Highland Elementary prior to her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Amarillo Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and Washington Avenue Christian Church. She was a former member of National Education Association, Texas State Teachers Association and Amarillo Classroom Teachers Association. She married Harold Swihart in 1976 at El Paso. Survivors include her husband; a son, Steve Moran of El Reno, Okla.; four daughters, Paula Clark and Janna Sperry, both of Woodbridge, Va., Pamela Tucker of Alpine and Marci Mason of Trophy Club; a stepson, J.A. "Bud" Swihart of Memphis, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Coral Sieber of Alta Loma, Calif., and Annette Schroeder of Tucson; a brother, Phil Hubbard Jr. of Rockport; five grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren. Andrew Hailey Andrew "Sam" Hailey, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Sammy O'Dell and the Rev. Royce Elms officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Mr. Hailey was born in Makstown and was an Army veteran of World War II. In 1974, he retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Worldwide Church of God. He married Pauline Yarbrough in 1979 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Hailey of Houston and Darrell Rankin of Amarillo; a daughter, Peggy Noble of Hastings, Neb.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Veterans Administration Hospice. Patricia Woodcook Patricia Woodcook, 36, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano East Cemetery with the Rev. Sherman Eastland, chaplain at Northwest Texas Hospital, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. She is survived by a special friend, Robert Jacob. New Mexico Pat Peterman CLOVIS, N.M. - Pat Peterman, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Mission Garden of Memories. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Peterman was born in Spencer County, Ky., and moved to Clovis in April from Louisville, Ky., where she had lived most of her life. She worked as a cook and also was one of the first female tile setters in Louisville. She was a Pentecostal. Survivors include a daughter, Winnone Gayle Clark of Clovis; a brother, James Lairson of Louisville; and three grandchildren. Elsewhere Kenneth Ray Dilldine OXNARD, Calif. - Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Dilldine, 47, a former Amarillo resident, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Arrangements were handled by Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary, 1075 E. Daily Drive, Camarillo, Calif. Mr. Dilldine was born in Roswell, N.M., and moved to Amarillo at age 5. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1970 and was a graduate of West Texas A&M University. He was the owner and operator of Anacapa Boat Service. He and his wife, Michelle, also owned a small vineyard at San Miguel, Calif. Survivors include his wife; his mother and her husband, Iris and Scott Miller of Roswell; and three sisters, Pamela Frady and Cassie McKowen, both of Houston, Texas, and Paula McClellan of Roswell. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity in his name. Concepcion Flores FULLERTON, Calif. - Concepcion Flores, 94, a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999. Mass was recited at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Angela Merici Catholic at Brea, Calif. Burial was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery at Rowland Heights, Calif., by Neels Brea Mortuary. Mrs. Flores was born in Texas and had been a resident of Amarillo for 60 years. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Elvira Flores of Fullerton and Jesusita Mendez of Amarillo; three sons, Feliciano Flores of Corona, Calif., Rodolfo Flores of Pomona, and Luis Flores of La Habra; a brother, Ted Flores of Eagle Rock; a sister, Maria Flores of Waco, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Ronald Turner LUBBOCK - Ronald "Red" Turner, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in 12th Street Church of Christ with Ralph Beistle, pastor of South Plains Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Seagraves Cemetery in Seagraves by Head Family Funeral Home of Seagraves. Mr. Turner was born in Palo Pinto County and raised in Seagraves where he graduated from high school. During World War II, he was with the Army Air Communications Service for four years. He retired as shift foreman of Southwestern Public Services. Mr. Turner was Scoutmaster for Troop 780 for six years and was active for years as a Little League baseball coach. He was a leathercraft teacher for the Senior Citizens of Lubbock. He married Louise Moore in 1972 at Seagraves. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Beatrice Holly Turner, in 1971. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Buddy and Donald Turner, both of Lubbock; two daughters, Loretta Compton of Amarillo and Linda Harkey of Lubbock; three brothers, John Turner of Brady, Lynne Turner of Sulphur Springs and Eugene Turner of Galveston.
