Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Hudson was born in Crowell and moved to Pampa in 1983 from Amarillo. She worked as an operator for Pampa Communications for 16 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married John Baggerman Jr. in 1946 on a farm south of Pampa. He died in 1968. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Baggerman in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Kotara of Panhandle; a son, Robert Gabel of Amarillo; a sister, Laverne Coronis of Pampa; two brothers, Gerald Wright and J.P. Wright, both of Pampa; and four grandchildren. Jo Shumate WELLINGTON - Jo Shumate, 66, died Monday, April 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mrs. Shumate was born in the Kelley community of Collingsworth County. A longtime resident of Wellington, she graduated from Wellington High School in 1951 and then attended Draughon's Business College. She worked as a child-care provider for more than 15 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Carl Shumate in 1954 at Las Vegas. He died in 1983. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Alice McKinney of Amarillo, Della Jo Lewis of Wellington and Pamela Louise Mayhugh of Childress; a brother, Hugh Kutch of Wellington; a sister, Mary Alice Holland of Wellington; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church or the Wellington Cemetery Association. Sue Rippy MEMPHIS - Sue Rippy, 65, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Mrs. Rippy was born in Carey. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married W.C. Rippy in 1951. He died in 1997. Mr. Butts was born in Boxelder in Red River County. During World War II, he served as a captain in the Army. He lived in Amarillo from 1957 until 1982. Mr. Butts retired 34 years ago as a pharmacist for the Upjohn Co. He was a member of the Clarendon Masonic Lodge No. 700 and the First Baptist Church of Clarendon. He married Murle Harper in 1949 at Wichita Falls. Survivors include his wife; four sons, James Butts of Angel Fire, N.M., John Butts of Colorado Springs, Colo., David Butts of Vena Del Mar, Chile, and Mike Butts of Clarendon; a brother, Paul Butts of Hooks; and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Casey was born in Staff and moved to Borger from Ranger in 1943. She was a seamstress for Borger Laundry and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She married Jessie L. He attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla. He was a farmer, an artist and a member of First Christian Church of Perryton. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Lamb was born and raised in Dalhart. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford where she lived until 1993. She married Charlie D. Lamb in 1946 at Dalhart. He died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Mark Lamb of Houston; a sister, Pat Loftin of Dalhart; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Faye Jones PLAINVIEW - Faye Jones, 89, of Olton, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ron Brunson, pastor of New Covenant Church of Plainview, and the Rev. Frank Hammond of the church officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mrs. Jones was born in Sherman and grew up in Haskell where she attended school. She lived in Borger, Marfa and Lubbock before moving to Plainview in 1947. She was employed as a school cafeteria worker from 1961 until her retirement in 1975. Mrs. Jones was a member of New Covenant Church of Plainview. She moved to Olton in 1993. She married Jack Jones in 1929 at Haskell. He died in 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Hayes of Plainview; a son, John Jones of Sedona, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Daniel was born in Prescott, Ariz., and moved to Muleshoe in 1949. He moved to Bowie in 1969 and returned to Muleshoe in 1980. Mr. Daniel was a member of the New Vision Church of the Nazarene. In 1968, he retired as manager of the Muleshoe Paymaster Cotton Gin. He married Frankie Williams in 1984. His first marriage was to Iva Lee Langley in 1921 at Rains County. She died in 1949. In 1951 at Clovis, N.M., he married his second wife, Maggie Thompson, who died in 1983. He also was preceded in death by a son, T.A. Daniel. Survivors include his wife; a son, Curtis Daniel of Balch Springs; two daughters, Joy Williams of Muleshoe and Jo Vivian Soape of Grand Saline; a sister, Nola Tull of Edgewood; a brother, Doyle Daniel of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. He was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Co., and was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married Jennifer Higgins in 1997 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Allyssa Lane Curry of the home; his parents, the Rev. He was a truck driver for 40 years and a member of First Four Square Full Gospel Church. He married Atha Boehning in 1956 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rebecca Alward and LaDonna Howard, both of Amarillo; a son, Teddy Alward of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren. The family will be at 1034 Carter. Wesley Earl Dowty Wesley Earl Dowty, 63, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Llano East Cemetery with Bob Long, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Plainview, officiating. Military rites are by the Naval Reserve and arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Dowty was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. He served in the Marine Reserves from 1953 until 1955, served in the Marines in Korea from 1955 until 1956 and then with the Army until 1957. In 1961, he returned to active service with the Navy Seabees and went to Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. In 1986, Mr. Dowty retired from the military. He was employed by the Helium Operations for 34 years before retiring in 1994. He married Linda Mathis in 1980. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sherrie Dowty, Dena Mathis and Linda Dowty, all of Amarillo; four stepdaughters, Debbie Redd of Lubbock, Dona Salter and Darla Mathis, both of Amarillo, and Dana Pierson of The Colony.; a brother, William "Bill" Dowty of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren. Miss Hooley was born in Pottawatomie County, Okla., and graduated from Lake Valley High School in Oklahoma. More than 50 years ago, she moved to Amarillo to work for the Steed family. She worked for Levine's Department Store from 1951 until her retirement in 1975. After her retirement, Miss Hooley did alterations in her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Deborah Sunday School Class and was active in the Virginia Highfill Baptist Women on Missions. She was corresponding secretary for the Sunshine Club for the Blind. Survivors include two brothers, Vandie Hooley of Amarillo and Clifford Hooley of Belen, N.M.; and two sisters, Aline Hooley of Reno, Nev., and Lodema Hooley of Kalispell, Mont. Mr. Maldonado was born in Haskell and attended Haskell High School. He was employed by Miller Radiator for 20 years. He married Irene Andrada in 1962 at Haskell. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by HensonNovak Funeral Directors. Mr. Fox was born in Hooker and was raised in the Range community southeast of Hardesty. He graduated from Hardesty High School in 1946 and served in the Marine Corps. He had been a partner in Guymon Motor Parts and Machine Shop and was the current owner and operator of Fox Machine Shop. He also was involved in cattle and ranching. He restored International Harvester tractors. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. He married Ruth Costner in 1950 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Johnita Gloden of Hough; a son, Dr. Mike Fox of Weatherford, Texas; three brothers, Rev. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mr. MacLaren was born in Texline, Texas, and graduated from Boise City High School in 1965. He graduated from automotive mechanic school and worked for the Chevrolet garage until 1984. He then was employed by Hul's Auto Repair in Guymon. Survivors include his mother, Margaret MacLaren of Boise City; and two sisters, Sharon Keen of Bulverde, Texas, and Donna Cain of Boise City. Survivors include a son, Tony Almeida; a daughter, Julia Green ; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
