Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. Roy King, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Haley was born in Shattuck, Okla., and had lived in the Perryton area most of his life. He was a 1959 graduate of Perryton High School. He was a farmer and rancher. Mr. Haley was a former county commissioner and was a member of the Wheatheart Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and York Rite. He was a member and a former board member, deacon and elder at the First Christian Church and was a member of the Soil and Water Conservation. He also had been a Boy Scout and 4-H leader. He married Ann Holmes in 1964 at Perryton. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kay Ann Cockrell of Perryton; a son, Lane Haley of San Antonio; and two grandchildren. Jack Roberts HEREFORD - Jack Roberts, 72, of Friona, died Thursday, July 15, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home in Hereford with the Rev. Doris Huckert officiating. Burial will be July 30 in Memorial Park Cemetery in Littlefield. Mr. Roberts was born in Lubbock County. He was a retired office worker for Paco Feeds and a member of Friona United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, James Roberts of Nevada City, Calif.; and three sisters, Margie Herring and Wanda Oliver, both of Friona, and Evelyn Goyne of Plainview. Annie Mae Nation WELLINGTON - Annie Mae Nation, 64, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. R.L. Shugart of Paris, the Rev. Joe Cantu of Hollis, Okla., and the Rev. Elvis Pitts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Born in Shamrock, Mrs. Nation was a longtime resident of Wellington. She was a nurse's aide for 15 years and a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She married William "Bill" Nation in 1951 at Wellington. He died in 1991. Survivors include two sons, Bill Nation Jr. and Gary Nation, both of Wellington; a daughter, Ronda Smith of Dumas; two sisters, Decie Mae Pool of McLean and Edna Benton of Wellington; a brother, Johnny Bryant of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association or to a favorite disabled persons organization/center. Craig Holton CHILDRESS - Craig Holton, 41, of Bonham, died Monday, July 19, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Childress with the Rev. Kerry Hookstra of First Christian Church of Erick, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mr. Holton was born in Wellington. For many years, he farmed in Quail and served as a volunteer fireman. He attended the First Christian Church of Wellington. For the past six years, Mr. Holton was a field sergeant of Choice Moore Correctional Unit in Bonham. He married Susan Moates in 1975 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jamie Prunist of Killeen and Misty Holton and Candace Holton, both of Bonham; his parents, Ham and Ginger Holton of Childress; a brother, Nat Holton of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Patti McCain of Bowie; and a grandson. Bonnie McCracken Harris ALANREED - Bonnie McCracken Harris, 82, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Alanreed Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Martin of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Home of Clarendon. Mrs. Harris was born in Clovis, N.M., and graduated from Clarendon High School. She moved to Los Angeles and worked as an inspector at Douglas Aircraft during World War II. In Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. Harris owned a beauty salon. She moved to Alanreed in 1969 where she was in the ranching business. Survivors include a son, Ray Harris of Alanreed; two daughters, Cathie Harris of Amarillo and Kittie Harris of Alanreed; and a brother, Durward McCracken of San Antonio. The family will be at 2109 S. Lipscomb in Amarillo and at their ranch four miles south of Alanreed. They request memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. James Parks Brumley PAMPA - James Parks Brumley, 84, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Brumley was born in Memphis and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Ark. During World War II, he served in the Army as captain of the 91st Division, 362nd Infantry. He was awarded the Bronze Star. In 1946, Mr. Brumley moved to Pampa. He retired after 30 years as an accountant for Celanese Corp., and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Rachel Eva Marcum in 1943 at Hico. She died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Jim Brumley of Tyler; a daughter, Linda Johnson of Pampa; four granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be at 2516 Chestnut in Pampa. They request memorials be to First United Methodist Church, 210 E. Foster, Pampa, TX., or a favorite charity. Roy Smith PAMPA - Roy Smith, 78, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Randy Smith, associate pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, Fla., officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Smith was born in Modac, Kan., and moved to Garden City, Kan., in 1936 where he graduated from high school and Garden City Junior College. During World War II, he obtained the rank of staff sergeant as a radio operator mechanic in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Smith returned to Garden City where he spent five years with State Farm Insurance, then moved to Pampa and was employed by Lane-Wells Co. He retired in 1986 after 28 years of employment with Welex, a division of Halliburton Co. He was a member of First United Church. He married Maxine Curtis in 1942 at St. Louis, Mo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Peet and Linda Taylor, both of Pampa; four sons, Skyler Scott Smith of Hillsdale, Kan., Kirk Smith of Denver, Charles Curtis Smith of Beaumont and Randall Roy Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will be at 2230 Duncan. They suggest memorials be to St. Paul United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association. James H. Riley SPEARMAN - James H. Riley, 86, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Apostolic Faith Church with the Rev. Ed Owens and the Rev. Roland Haney officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. Riley was born in Greenwood and had lived in the Spearman area for 57 years. In 1942, he moved to Farnsworth in Ochiltree County and worked for O.C. Rogers until 1948. He was a farmer and employee for the City of Spearman. Mr. Riley moved to Hansford County in 1948 and worked for Bill Brown. He then worked for Walter and Johnny Daniel. He then was employed by the city of Spearman. Until his retirement in 1977, he also served as a volunteer fireman. He married Ruby Lorene Robeson in 1939 at Greenwood. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Betty Jean Davis of Beaver, Okla., Lula Pauline Heinz of Laverne, Okla., Ruby Lois McCaskill of Las Vegas and Callie Ruth Van Kleeck of Phoenix; a son, Eddie Charles Riley of Nucla, Colo.; two brothers, Everette Lee Riley of Denton and Homer Charles Riley of Sanger; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081. Evelyn C. Bozeman HEREFORD - Evelyn C. Bozeman, 79, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. H.W. Bartlett of the church and the Rev. Terry Cosby of First Baptist Church officiating. Private burial will be by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Bozeman was born in Burkburnett and moved to Hereford in 1968 from Plains. She accompanied her husband on evangelistic crusades. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married J.L. Bozeman in 1939 at Lubbock. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Ann Heard of Pampa; a brother, Lee Peters of Mineola; a sister, Blanche Francis of Houston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Senior Citizens or International Crusades of Dallas. Amarillo Cydney Derwey Cydney Derwey, infant daughter of Joe Derwey and Brandy Short, died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Little Rock, Ark. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, with Jim Fox of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 315 E. Fifth Ave., Amarillo. Cydney was born in North Little Rock. Survivors include her parents of Little Rock; grandparents, Cindy Callahan and Tracy Short, both of Amarillo and Mary Payne of California; and great-grandparents, Lucy Robinson, Darlene Short and Alvin Short, all of Amarillo. Lorene Brierty Lorene "Babe" Brierty, 101, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and a former resident of Amarillo, died Monday, July 19, 1999. Vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S. Coulter in Amarillo. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mrs. Brierty was born in Chicago. A homemaker, she moved to Amarillo in 1966 and to Ocean Springs in 1993. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She married Robert E. Brierty in 1930 at Chicago. He died in 1976. Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert E. Brierty Jr. of Ocean Springs; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pat Brierty of New Braunfels. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Kevin Dale Webb Kevin Dale Webb, 41, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999. No services are planned. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Webb was born in Canyon and was a lifetime resident of Amarillo. He graduated from Palo Duro High School and received his associate's degree in electronics from Amarillo College. Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Leon and Jennifer Kirk, both of Amarillo; his mother, Beverly Webb of Amarillo; two brothers, Larry Webb and Sean Webb, both of Amarillo; his grandmother, Thelma Webb of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. New Mexico Mabel Ruth Duke Kelley CLOVIS, N.M - Mabel Ruth Duke Kelley, 97, died Sunday, July 18, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Charles Bader officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Kelley was born in Bardwell, Texas. In 1903, she moved with her family to the Texas Panhandle near the rim of Palo Duro Canyon. She attended Llano school. The year she graduated was the last year Texas granted teaching certificates to 16-year-olds and she began teaching in the fall. She took college courses in the summer of 1919 and attended classes at West Texas State Teachers College, Texas A&M, Texas Tech University and Eastern New Mexico University. In 1957, she received her bachelor of arts degree in English from Eastern New Mexico. In 1932 she married Charles Durward "C.D." Kelley. She was a member of and taught the Women's Bible Class at the First United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies. She served as president of the P.E.O. Chapter AB. She did book reviews and programs for various groups and was active in the Gardening Club. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Ruth Camerer; two brothers, Ernest Duke and Hubert Duke; two sisters, Thelma Jennings and Myrtle Jennings; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Johnny Jackson DE SOTO - Johnny Jackson, 65, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Rolling Hills Church of Christ in De Soto with Dr. Larry James officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park by West/Hurtt Funeral Home of De Soto. Mr. Jackson was born in Collingsworth County. Since 1982, he was a minister for Rolling Hills Church of Christ. He also served churches in Pottsboro, Denison, Richardson, Houston, Irving, Sugar Land and Amarillo at Southwest Church of Christ from 1964-66. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jackson; two sons, Danny M. Jackson of Sugar Land and Stephen M. Jackson of Arlington; two daughters, LuAnne Regas of Sugar Land and Lauree Pittman of San Diego; a brother; three sisters; and 11 grandchildren.
