Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Honea, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the city of Lubbock Cemetery. Mr. Todd was born in Jacks County, Okla., and moved to Lubbock from Slaton in 1937. He moved to Amarillo in 1995. He retired from the Plains Coop Oil Mill after 23 years, worked on some of the trails in the Grand Canyon, and planted trees and built roads in MacKenzie Park. He was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. He married Helen Bailey in 1938. She died in 1995. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Farmer. Survivors include three daughters, Clara Mae Featherston and Sue Ella McDaniels, both of Lubbock and Ellen Ruth White of Amarillo; a sister, Lorena Holt of Tacoma, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren. Wanda F. Brown Wanda F. Brown, 66, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Kingswood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Tamplen, pastor, and Don Novak, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mrs. Brown was born in Wellington and moved to Amarillo in 1960. She retired from Homeland Stores in 1994, and was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Brown, in 1973. She married Leroy Brown in 1952. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tammy Novak and Tanya Joyce Fahnert, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Dale Johnson of Amarillo, Don Johnson of Channing and Dean Johnson of Nazareth; four sisters, Belva Terry and Robena Duncan, both of Artesia, N.M., Evelyn Callaghan of Clearwater, Fla., and Martha Morris of Wellington; and four grandchildren. The family will be at 2716 S. Woodland and suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Lucille H. Cook Lucille H. Cook, 83, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. She was a waitress and a member of the Church of Christ. She married James L. Cook in 1979. Lucille Duncan Johnson Lucille Duncan Johnson, 88, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 19, 1999. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born in Brownsville. She was a member of First Christian Church, where she was a deaconess and worked as a church librarian for more than 30 years. Wayne Askew Wayne Askew, 60, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. David Moore, pastor of Christian Life Center in Guthrie, Okla., officiating. Mr. Askew was born in Crosbyton County and had been a long-time resident of Amarillo prior to moving to Edmond, Okla. He returned to Amarillo in 1998. He was a maintenance engineer for A.W.G. and attended the Pentecostal church. He married Patsy Leatherman in 1958. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doyle Askew of Amarillo and Tony Askew of Clarksville, Ark.; a daughter, Stacey Campos of Amarillo; his mother, Emma Ferguson of Amarillo; two halfbrothers, James Askew of Lubbock and Billy Ferguson of Sugarland; a half-sister, Rose Riddle of Amarillo; two stepsisters, Geraldine Tyler of Andrews and Marion Williams of Lubbock; and four grandchildren. Velma Seale Velma "Pete" Seale, 88, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Seale was born in Erik, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Southeast Baptist Church. She married Allen Thomas Seale in 1930. He died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda Jones, in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Tommie Brown of Amarillo; a son, Bobby Allen Seale of Greenville; a sister, Vallie Martin of Lubbock; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. Canyon L.R. Dobbs CANYON - L.R. Dobbs, 78, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Exell Coon, Presbyterian minister of Austin, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Dobbs was born in Mason and graduated from Mason High School. He was served in the Air Corps during World War II and was a prisoner of war for 18 months in Germany. He was a rancher in Colorado, a farmer in Muleshoe, and had been the Sheriff of Mason County. In 1962, he started the Dobbs Corp.after designing and inventing the Dobbs Floating Surface Water Pump, and in 1964 he moved his business to Canyon. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clovis, N.M., where he taught a Sunday school class and served as a deacon and as an elder. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Canyon. He married Doris Lindsay in 1946. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Green of Canyon; two sisters, Sadie Durst of Mason and Merle Hooks of Texas City; a brother, Jesse Dobbs of Brady; and two grandchildren. New Mexico Joseph Woodrow Garrison TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Joseph Woodrow Garrison, 81, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mosquero Community Church in Mosquero, N.M. Burial will be in the family plot at Solano Cemetery in Solano, N.M., by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Garrison was born in Center Point, N.M., and was a farmer and a truck driver. He served with the Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Rand Garrison, in 1948. Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Garrison, of Mosquero; four sons, Larry Garrison of Angel Fire, N.M., Bill Garrison of Tucumcari, Ken Garrison of Mosquero and Ward Garrison of Solano, N.M.; five sisters, Helen Anderson of Scottsdale, Ariz., Wanda Jackson of Gran Quivera, N.M., Jeanette Burnet of Edgewood, N.M., Elanor Bursey of Springfield, S.D., and Joyce Bates of Adams, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Isaac Baca CLOVIS, N.M. - Isaac Baca, 87, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mr. Baca was born in Gallinas, N.M., and moved to Clovis in 1948. He worked as a laborer in local feed yards and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. He married Poncianita Duran in 1934. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Roberta Baca, in 1996. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bobby Baca and Jimmy Baca, both of Clovis, and Richard Zamora of Amarillo; six daughters, Nancy Rodriquez of Albuquerque, N.M., Aggie Chavez, Angie Sena and Julia Chavez, all of Clovis, Judy Garcia of Maple and Mida Herrera of Georgetown; 31 grandchildren; 54 greatgrandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Oklahoma Reba Estella Goff BOISE CITY, Okla. - Reba Estella Brown Goff, 90, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Marella United Methodist Church, Griggs, Okla., with David George officiating. Burial will be in Marella Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Goff attended grade school in Griggs, Okla., and high school in Boise City, Okla., where she spent most of her life on a farm 17 miles southeast of the city. She was a member of the Marella United Methodist Church and was treasurer of the Sunday school. She married Clifford E. Goff in 1930. He preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Gwen Steen of Tulsa, Okla., Carolyn Shryock of Boise City, and Janie Kunselman of Spearman; three sons, Clayton Goff and Jeff Goff, both of Guymon, Okla., and Clinton Goff of Salem, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren. Mr. Boyes was born in Priddy and moved to Panhandle from Newhall, Calif., where he had been a member of the Moose Lodge for 20 years. He was a self employed welder and a member of the Baptist Church. His wife, Etta Lorene Boyes, died in 1983. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Cook of Panhandle and Loretta Price of Frisco; six grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren. Berl A. Ford HARTLEY - Berl A. Ford, 77, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dalhart Church of Christ with Gaylord Cook, minister, and Dale Pearson, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Ford was born near Amarillo. He attended school at Lakeside and graduated from Claude High School. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He married Mickey Carruth in 1948 in Amarillo. They moved to Hartley County in 1951, where he farmed and ranched until retiring. He was a member of the Denver Avenue Church of Christ at Dalhart and had served as an elder in the 1970s. He also served on the Hartley School Board. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ford. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Ford of Dumas and Donald Ford of Hartley; two brothers, Merl Ford of Amarillo and James Ford of Dalhart; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Edwin Waterbury, pastor of Balko Apostolic Faith Church in Balko, Okla., officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Perryton. Mr. Hayden was born in Panhandle and had lived in Perryton for most of his life. He worked in the oil fields as a truck driver. His wife, Phyllis Hayden, died in 1984. Survivors include a brother, Doyle Hayden of Uvalde. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Bonnie Jean Paine FARWELL - Bonnie Jean Paine, 76, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oklahoma Lane Cemetery. Mrs. Paine was born in Oklahoma Lane and was employed with the Parmer County Tax Assessor/Collector in Farwell for 20 years. She was a member of Oklahoma Lane Methodist Church. She married Turner Paine in 1939. Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Paine of Plano; two daughters, Chris Moore of Clovis, N.M., and Velda Jolley of Farwell; two sisters, Ora E. Smith of Clovis and Gloria Herington of Muleshoe; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. W.G. Heflin MORTON - W.G. Heflin, 87, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Morton Memorial Cemetery with Joey Pierce, minister of East side Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Helfin was born in Spur, and from 1935 until 1990 had lived in Morton, where he owned and operated Heflin Lumber Co. In 1990, he moved to Ruidoso, N.M., then to Bloomfield, N.M., and for the past year had been living in Clovis, N.M. He served in the Army during World War II, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morton. He married Naomi Juanita Chaney in 1929. She died in 1993. He was also preceded in death by a son, Wilson Edward Heflin, in 1995. Survivors include a son, W.G. Heflin, Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven daughters, Wilma Dolle of Morton, Billie Raether of Portales, N.M., Tiny Womack of Lamesa, Wanda Reeves, Lora Troxell and Doris Taylor, all of Bloomfield, N.M., and Maxine Hodgins of Hobbs, N.M.; three sisters, Mae Heflin, Vernie Trapp and Nancy Brown, all of Clovis; two brothers, Gerald Heflin of Portales and George Heflin of Levelland; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Larry Silhan MORTON - Larry Silhan, 42, died Friday, March 19, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements will be by Ellis Funeral Homes. Mr. Morton was born in Littlefield and received a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech. He moved to Morton in 1995 from Houston, where he was an assistant drilling superintendent for Big Chief Drilling Co. In 1997, he moved to Lubbock, where he was a mechanical engineer for Norton Drilling Co. Survivors include a daughter, Heather Silhan of Lubbock; and two sisters, Debra Lamar and Kari Runyan. Jose Vital PERRYTON - Jose Vital, 62, died Friday, March 19, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rex Nichol officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Vital was born in Apaseo, Mexico, and had lived in the area since 1993. He was an agriculture laborer and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He married Gloria Garcia in 1957. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Pablo Vital, Saul Vital, Jose Vital Jr., Rolando Vital, Luciano Vital and Adrian Vital, all of Perryton; four daughters, Gloria Vital, Bricia Vital, Mayela Vital and Meli Vital, all of Perryton; a brother, Natalio Vital of Perryton; two sisters, Alicia Vital and Paz Vital, both of Perryton; and 25 grandchildren. Laura Gertrude Huckins PAMPA - Laura "Mammy" Gertrude Huckins, 95, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Mrs. Huckins was born in Grand Saline and was a resident of White Deer, moving from Skellytown in 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Skellytown, and of the Rebecca Lodge No. 58, where she was a Grand Noble. She married Cleon G. Huckins in 1927. He died in 1954. She was also preceded in death by a son, Sam Allen Houston, in 1945, and by a daughter, Brooksye M. Boughan, in 1985. Survivors include three sons, Jack Houston of White Deer, Norvel Huckins of Skellytown, and Gerald Huckins of Pampa; a daughter, Barbara Snodgrass of Duncan, Okla.; two sister, Thelma Lou Rhodes of Stockton, Calif., and Stella Bea Rhodes of Nampa, Idaho; a brother, H. Rhodes of Ogden, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Moulton was born in Lark and had lived in Stratford since 1948. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Longley of Spearman. The family will be at 303 Hazelwood in Spearman. Vera Rimmer Horton PLAINVIEW - Vera Rimmer Horton, 79, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park. Mrs. Horton was born in Rogers, and was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. She married Kenneth V. Rimmer in 1940. He died in 1984. She married Edgar Horton in 1991. He died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dale Rimmer. Survivors include a son, Bert Rimmer of Gainesville; a daughter, LaJuana R. Lindsey of Allen; a sister, Audean Hartsell of Scottsboro, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Beasley was born in Tulia, attended schools in Vigo Park, graduated from high school in Tulia and attended both Drawn's Business College and Amarillo College. She was a farmer/rancher, in the timber business and prepared tax returns for a number of farmers in the area. She was a member of Vigo Park Baptist Church and of the Tulia Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by a son, Leon Beasley, in 1997. She married Roy Beasley in 1937. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Faye Marie Brown of Roanoke; a son, Wayne Beasley of Tulia; a sister, Ida Letha Elms of Tulia; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to the Tulia Senior Citizens, or to Milo Cemetery Association. William W. Shields WELLINGTON - William W. "Bill" Shields, 99, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dozier Church of Christ with Jay Wischkaemper, Shawn Zybach, and Bill Wischkaemper officiating. Burial will be in Dozier Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Shields was born in Warrens Bend, moved to Quail in 1907 and attended school in Gainsville, Plymouth and Dozier. He was a farmer/rancher and a member of the Church of Christ. He married Myrtle Jones in 1918. She also died Saturday. Survivors include two sons, Jack Shields of Amarillo and Mack Shields of Briscoe; four daughters, Kathlene Wischkaemper of Smyer, Jimmie Montgomery of Amarillo, Joyce Tippie of Lubbock, and Nancy Hall of Tulia; a brother, Worth Shields of Samnorwood; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shields was born in Wrec, Okla., moved to Collingsworth at an early age and attended school at Dozier. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married William W. "Bill" Shields in 1918. He also died Saturday.
