Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Dalhart by Hass Funeral Home in Dalhart. Miss Theisman was born and raised in the Dalhart area. She retired from the old Ideal Grocery in the early 1960s. She was an artist and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors include a sister, Amanda Alderson of Arvada, Colo.; and a brother, Andy Theisman of Denver. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Dalhart Church of Christ, 1420 Denver Ave., with Fred Selby, minister of Texline Church of Christ and Sammy Flannery of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Dalhart by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Noyes was born in Amarillo and was raised in Tulia. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1961 and attended Lubbock Christian College. She received a bachelor of science degree from West Texas State University in 1965. She worked as secretary for Oklahoma Christian College. She married Jim Noyes in 1965. They lived in Dalhart, Bovina and Adrian before moving to Texline in 1981. She helped organize and served as treasurer for the Texline E.M.S. She was a member of the Texline Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; a son, Al Noyes of Texline; her mother, Elnora Carruth of Dalhart; and a sister, Linda Gail Gray of Dalhart. Mrs. Cutting was born in Jermyn. She was a retired bookkeeper. Her husband, Ed Cutting, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Assembly of God Youth Camp near Roaring Springs. Burial will be in the Flomot Cemetery at Flomot by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. The Rev. Martin was born in Matador where he attended schools. He had been an Assembly of God Evangelist since 1969. He also had pastored churches in Olton, Lorenzo, Sunray and Jonescreek and Marion, Ind. He was the associate pastor of the First Assembly of God Church at Sylmar. He married Mary Underwood in 1957 at Roaring Springs. Survivors include his wife; a son, Don Martin of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Laurie Maxwell of Middleton, Fla., and Deanna Garza of Houston; two sisters, Almeda Trapini of San Angelo and Jeanie Howle of Odessa; a brother, Joe Martin of Wolfforth; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by MooreRose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Powell was born in Crosby County where she also attended school. She and her husband owned and operated Powell's Grocery. She was retired and a member of First Baptist Church of Floydada. She married Parnell Powell in 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and an infant son, Kenneth M. Powell, in 1948. Survivors include two sons, Arlis Powell of Albuquerque and Jerry Powell of Houston; a daughter, Melody Swearingen of Plainview; a brother, Kenneth Rogers of Yoakum; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was born in Arkadelphia, Ark., and moved to Borger in 1948. She retired as a secretary in the traffic department of Phillips Petroleum Co. She was a Baptist and past member of the Desk & Derrick Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Johnson, in 1998. Mrs. Mihm was born in Elroy, Wis., and moved to Borger in 1945. She lived in Amarillo, then returned to Borger in 1998. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Starting in 1966, Mrs. Mihm wrote a column called "Raindrops on Roses." In 1985, she retired as lifestyles editor for the Borger News Herald. In 1987, Mrs. Mihm was named Woman of the Year for Beta Sigma Phi. She received honors and awards from several groups, including the Texas Federation of Music Awards, Artist Studio of Borger, Texas Press Association and Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce. In 1960, she and her family were named Catholic Family of the Year at St. John's Catholic Church. She married C.H. Mihm in 1938 at Superior, Wis. He died in 1968. Survivors include four sons, John Clifford Mihm of Bartlesville, Okla., David James Mihm of West New York, N.J., Gerald Michael Mihm of Houston and Joe Mihm of Borger; a daughter, Judy Mihm of Borger; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don "Buddy" Sellars, in 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Gillilan of Borger and Leslie Wade of Fritch; four brothers, Homer Tyler of Marshall, Doug Tyler of Kenner, La., Sonny Tyler of Shreveport, La., and Mark Tyler of Bossier City, La.; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Warren was born in Hill County. She had been a member of the Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. Ten years ago, she moved to Deer Park. She married Marvin T. Warren in 1935 at Haskell. He died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sandy Warren of Deer Park; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Errington was born in Bishop, Okla. He graduated from high school in Canadian. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He worked as a diesel mechanic in Utah and worked for Santa Fe Railway until his retirement. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a sister, Melva Thrasher Brooks of Clovis, N.M.; and a sister-in-law, Nora Errington of Amarillo. She was a retired nurses aide and had worked at Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She married Orie E. Hicks in 1926 at Edinburg. He died in 1963. She married Lucien R. Rogers in 1966 in Amarillo. He died Oct. 11. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maudia Rhea Hicks in 1931 and a son, Don Hicks in 1997. Survivors include a son, Jack Hicks of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. She was a 27-year member of Paramount Baptist Church and was employed by the Amarillo State Center Workshop. Georgia St. Mrs. Howard was born in Plainview where she graduated from high school in 1936. She was a musician and entertainer in Amarillo for 30 years. With her husband, Mrs. Howard farmed in Dimmitt where she was church organist. They moved to Amarillo in 1969. She was a member of the Wednesday Morning Donut club. She married Keith Howard in 1943 at Hollywood, Calif. He died in 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Allen of Amarillo and Keith Ann Gearn and Jeanette Browning, both of Hereford; five grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and seven great-grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Browning of Frederick and Dana Herrell of Topeka, Kan.; two sons, David Simmons of Amarillo and Chris Simmons of Bushland; a brother, F.W. In 1984, he graduated from Caprock High School. A self-employed trim carpenter, he was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He married Kerri Bailey in 1988 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Zeke Smith; a daughter, Tori Smith; his parents, Hershel and Frances Smith of Lelia Lake; two sisters, Ginger McMullin and Heather Smith, both of Amarillo; and his grandmother, Daisy Cawlfield of Amarillo. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 22, 1999 Kansas Desley M. Tice LIBERAL, Kan. - Desley M. "Deck" Tice, 94, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Western Avenue Church of Christ with Mike Schroeder, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Balko, Okla., by Miller Mortuary. Mr. Tice was born in No-Mans-Land, Beaver County, Okla., and graduated from Balko High School in 1926. He married Sylvia Belle Delano in 1930. He worked in Enid, Okla., as a mechanic for Groendyke Transportation. He had been a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Eason Oilers of Enid. He and his wife farmed before moving to Liberal in 1971. Five years ago, they moved to the Wheatridge Park Care Center. He was a member of Balko Baptist Church and later attended the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a son, Cecil Tice of Broomfield, Colo.; two sisters, Mabel Barnett of Williamsburg, N.M., and Eura Perry of Beaver; a brother, Gwynn Tice of Balko; and two grandchildren. Friends may call at the mortuary from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 22, 1999 Oklahoma Elmer Wolfington GAGE, Okla. - Elmer Wolfington, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gage School Auditorium with the Rev. Larry Henderson, the Rev. Jerry Horton and the Rev. Beckie Horton officiating. Burial will be in Gage Memorial Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mr. Wolfington was born in Minden Mines, Mo., and grew up in Liberal, Mo., where he graduated from high school in 1935. He went to work for Santa Fe Railroad as a brakeman and worked up to conductor. He was transferred to Shattuck in 1939 then moved to Canadian, Texas in 1942. During World War II, Mr. Wolfington served with the Army in the railroad division in England and in France following D-Day. He returned to Canadian then moved to Gage in 1948. Until 1952, Mr. Wolfington operated Baxter's Green Front Grocery. He then worked at grocery stores in Oklahoma and Missouri while serving as pastor at churches. Mr. Wolfington was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Gage and was active in Gideons International. With his wife, he started the Assembly of God Church in Higgins. He married Kathleen Baxter in 1941 at Gage. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Wolfington of Meeker and Gary Wolfington of Gage; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 22, 1999 Elsewhere Edna Coy LAUREL, Md. - Edna Coy, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999. Memorial services are planned for a later date in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Donaldson Funeral Home of Laurel. Miss Coy was born in Gravette, Ark., and graduated as class valedictorian of Amarillo High School. She received her master's degree in social sciences from the University of Texas. From 1939 until 1946, Miss Coy was the registrar of Amarillo Junior College. She was chairman of the Social Sciences Department and teacher of history, geography, anthropology and related subjects at Amarillo Junior College from 1947 until her retirement in 1976. Miss Coy moved to Maryland in 1984. Survivors include five nieces and three nephews, Thomas Patterson of Chapel Hill, N.C., Dr. Anne Patterson of Wheaton, Dr. Ruth Coy of Laurel, Dr. Ellen Mandell of Oceanside, Calif., Barbara Brinegar of Worthington, Ohio, Katharine Cupps of Olympia, Wash., John Coy of Boulder, Colo., and Dr. Steven Coy of Spring, Texas; and seven grand-nieces and nephews.
