Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. George Haddox of Cliffside Baptist Church and the Rev. Bennie D. Martin, an uncle from Lyndon, Wash., officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Terrell was born in Blue, Okla. She was raised in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School in 1962. She owned and operated Southwest Carpet in Hereford from 1964 until 1978. She moved to Amarillo in 1979. In 1980, Mrs. Terrell began working for Jack B. Kelley in the accounting offices. She was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. She married James Terrell in 1981 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a sister, Barbara Heck of Ute Park, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Terri Lantelme of Borger; two stepsons, Michael Terrell of New Castle, Neb., and Daniel Terrell of Panhandle. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Florene Davis Carrigan Florene Davis Carrigan, 85, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the San Jacinto Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Melvin Suttle, pastor, and the Rev. Ed Carrigan, a son, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home Inc. of Canyon. Mrs. Carrigan was born in Gunner and had lived in Amarillo since 1938. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jacinto Assembly of God Church. She was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church. She married John A. Carrigan in 1936 at Tioga. He died in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Billie Ann Carson of Amarillo and Mary Jo Beavers of Athens; two sons, Col. Jimmy Carrigan of San Antonio and the Rev. Ed Carrigan of New York City; two brothers, Jack Davis of Burleson and Leland Davis of Blessing; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. They requests memorials be to the E.R. Foster Scholarship Fund at San Jacinto Assembly of God Church. Mildred Alcinda Chunn Mildred Alcinda Chunn, 95, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 1999. Memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. James Garrett of Polk Street United Methodist Church and Stephen L. Aubrey, grand-nephew of Seattle, officiating. Cremation is by Memory Gardens Crematory with arrangements by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth. Mrs. Chunn was born in Glenville, Neb., and later moved to Artesia, N.M. She attended Clarendon College then returned to Atoka, N.M. to teach. With her husband, she then moved to Clarendon and ran an electrical business. During World War II, Mrs. Chunn worked for Southwestern Public Service, retiring when she was 65. She had lived in Groom, White Deer and Amarillo where she was a longtime member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was a 20-year volunteer with St. Anthony's Auxiliary and hosted the annual Christmas party in her home through her 90th birthday. She married C. Buford Chunn in 1925 at Roswell, N.M. He died in 1966. Survivors include a sister, Margaret Hastings of Billings, Mont.; a niece of Tacoma, Wash.; and a nephew of Kennesaw, Ga. The body will not be available for viewing. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Emily J. Pendergrass Emily J. Pendergrass, 86, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in West Newton Cemetery Chapel in West Newton, Pa., with the Rev. George Fulton officiating. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery with local arrangements by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Pendergrass was born in Lowber, Pa., and moved to Amarillo in 1968 from Hutchinson, Kan. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church. She married Alexander W. Pendergrass in 1943 at Savannah, Ga. He died in 1980. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Undersander of Madison, Wis.; and one grandchild. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service time. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to a charity of choice. Raymond J. Blum Raymond J. Blum, 84, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Vigil service will be at 8 p.m. today in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hereford. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Laurence Cathedral with Monsignor Orville Blum officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum East by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Blum was born in Green County, Wis., and moved to Amarillo in 1974 from Freeport, Ill. For 25 years, he farmed in northern Illinois and also was a machinist. He was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. He married Erma Meichtry in 1936 at Monroe, Wis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Monsignor Orville Blum of Hereford and Laurence Blum of Kimball, Minn.; five daughters, Carolyn Blum, Alice Duray, Berniece Gee and Mary Frances Beard, all of Amarillo, and Antonitte Rene Blum of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Selma Elmer of Monroe, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Canyon Clara Lou Slack Clara Lou Slack, 90, of Garland and formerly of Canyon, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Strauss Atkinson, pastor emeritus, and the Rev. Gayle Bowen, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Slack was born in Woodland, Miss., where she graduated from Woodland High School. In 1925, the family moved to Randall County. She had lived in Garland since 1988. Mrs. Slack served as an officer in the Baptist Women's Missionary Union of the First Baptist Church of Canyon and the Amarillo Baptist Association. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Sue Hite Club, the Supper Club and was a volunteer at High Plains Baptist Hospital. She married Burney Slack in 1928. He died in 1972. Survivors include two sons, Harrell Slack of Garland and Bryce Slack of Canyon; six grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Elsewhere Richard Clayton Woodman CROSBY - Richard Clayton Woodman, 50, a former Amarillo resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999. Services were at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Sterling-White Chapel in Highlands. Entombment was in the mausoleum of White Cemetery at Highlands. Mr. Woodman was born in Amarillo and moved to Crosby in 1980. He graduated from Monterey High School of Lubbock and from Texas Tech University at Lubbock with a teaching degree. He was a teacher and a coach at Huffman High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Helen; his children, Shelley Smith, Karrie Woodman and Richard Lance Woodman, all of Humble; two stepdaughters, Jean Beadle and Julie Moon, both of Crosby; his mother, Gloria Woodman of Dumas; stepmother, Billye Faye Smith of Norman, Okla.; a sister, Tamara Heinig of Saugus, Calif.; a half sister, Laura Smith Garner of Norman; a brother, Randy Woodman of Lubbock; a stepsister, Sharon Gondelson of Pearland; and five grandchildren. Oklahoma Lloyd James McDaniel BOISE CITY, Okla. - Lloyd James McDaniel, 73, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Derek Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Bertrand Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mr. McDaniel was born and raised in Stratford, Texas where he graduated from high school. He was a Navy veteran and was a radio operator on a submarine. After his discharge, he returned to Stratford where he was a mechanic. After farming around Kerrick, Texas, Mr. McDaniel moved to Boise City where he was a mechanic and bookkeeper for Red and Sam's. He also kept books for the Cozy Cafe. In 1965, he started his own business, Red Mc's Auto Shop, and worked there until his death. From 1974 until 1976, he taught auto mechanics at Boise City High School. Survivors include six children, Karen Teders of Fairbanks, Alaska, Donny McDaniel and Stanley McDaniel, both of Dimmitt, Texas, Lisa Terrell of Chandler, Tony McDaniel of Fort Worth and Kim Lively of Guymon; a sister, June Frizzell of Stratford; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch which may be left in care of the mortuary. Area Erik Drake Johnston PAMPA - Erik Drake Johnston, infant son of Valeria and Joel Johnston, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Delbert White, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Erik was born Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, in Amarillo. Survivors include his parents; and grandparents, James and Jann Johnston and George and Benita Albear, all of Pampa. Jacob G. Myers PERRYTON - Jacob G. "Jake" Myers, 72, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Staton officiating. Burial will be in the Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Myers was born in Haskell County, Kan., and moved to the Perryton area in 1962 from Pampa. He was a pipeline worker in the oil fields and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Canyon. He married Donna G. Goltry in 1948 in Wilson County, Kan. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Doris Jean Elston of Beaver, Okla., Wanda Lucille Townsend of Spearman, Cindy Kay Lewis of Perryton and Greta Irene Scott of Amarillo; three sisters, Lucile Carter of Altoona, Kan., Elizabeth Darbe of Little Rock, Ark., and Margaret Sharpe of Wake Village; two brothers, Paul Myers and David Myers, both of Altoona; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Eugene Ray Penfold STINNETT - Eugene Ray "Penny" Penfold, 72, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Stinnett with the Rev. Elvis Peck officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Penfold was born in Marion, Iowa, and had been a resident of the Stinnett area for 53 years. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stella Louise Penfold in 1952. Survivors include three sons, Larry Penfold of Stinnett, Bobby Penfold of Lawrence, Kan., and Ronald Briley of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Sharon Montoya of Stinnett and Cathy Hunt of Borger; his mother, Mildred Carney of Nebraska City, Neb.; a brother, Charles Mines of Nebraska City; three sisters, Betty Ayoutt of Weed, Calif., Patsy Neemann of Nebraska City, and Waneta Bales of Lincoln, Neb.; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home in Stinnett until one hour prior to service time. The family will be at 405 Main in Stinnett. Pet Ott HEREFORD - Pet Ott, 89, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeremy Grant, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Ott was born in Hardeman County and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1927 from Childress. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church and the Wyche Home Demonstration Club. In 1985, Mrs. Ott was Deaf Smith County "Pioneer of the Year." She was Woman of the Year in 1953 and, in 1979, received an award for Distinguished Service. She was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she served as president and vice-president. She married Ira Ott in 1930 at Clovis, N.M. He died in February. Survivors include her two sisters, Frances Johnston of Seminole and Ethel Logan of Austin. The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church of Hereford or Hereford Senior Citizens. Beulah R. Powell PADUCAH - Beulah R. Powell, 80, of Summerfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Garden of Memories in Paducah with her grandson, Jimmy Montgomery, and the Rev. James Hooper, pastor of First Baptist Church of Paducah, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mrs. Powell was born in Logan, N.M. She was a former resident of Paducah and a 30-year resident of Hereford. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Hereford. She married the Rev. Clarence Powell in 1938. He died in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Barbara Powell. Survivors include a son, Arnold Powell of Summerfield; a sister, Eula Green of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Luis Marez Luna SHAMROCK - Luis Marez Luna, 83, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Ray Garza of Wellington and F.L. Segura of Shamrock officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery in Erick, Okla., by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Luna was born in Lott and had lived in Shamrock for 25 years where he was a member of the Baptist Mission. During World War II, he served in the Army. He married Mary Soliz in 1939. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Luna and Robert Luna, both of Shamrock; two daughters, Mary Garza of Texola, Okla., and Rachel Alvarado of Shamrock; two brothers, Ynacio Luna and Raymond Luna, both of Rockford, Ill. three sisters, Lidya Casarez of Lubbock and Ireene Flores and Carmen Juzman, both of Commerce City, Colo. Norris Hatter MORTON - Norris Hatter, 86, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton. Mr. Hatter was born in Coleman, Okla., and moved to Morton in 1943 from Friona. He was a farmer. He married Dorotha Faye Smith in 1942 at Clovis, N.M. She died in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Larry Hatter of Morton and Bob Hatter of Konawa, Okla.; a daughter, Linda Kittrell of Southmayd; three brothers, Ed Hatter of Carson City, Nev., Jack Hatter of Weatherford and J.T. Hatter of Oxnard, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. John L. Purdy Jr. MULESHOE - John L. Purdy Jr., 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stacy Conner, pastor of First Baptist Church of Muleshoe, officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Purdy was born in Mead, Okla., and moved to Muleshoe from Littlefield in 1956. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a cotton ginner and member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign wars. He married Frances Waxler in 1947 at Littlefield. He was preceded in death by a son, Cary Purdy, in 1997. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bruce Purdy of Muleshoe; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Ross Pendleton SUNRAY - Ross Pendleton, 88, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Sunray Baptist Church with the Rev. John Westman of the First United Methodist Church of Sunray and the Rev. Todd Dyess of the First United Methodist Church of Pampa officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Pendleton was born in Farmersville and had lived in Moore County since 1944. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for three years then went into farming where he was a partner with his brother, Clark, until 1981. In 1971, Mr. Pendleton and his brother bought the old American Zinc Co., which was closed. He was a longtime member of the Sunray Co-op and the First United Methodist Church in Sunray. He married Mozelle McCloud in 1941 at Sherman. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Pat Cripps of Sunray, Martha Ann Crum of Burkburnett, Loretta Kepley of Groom, Minerva " Mini" Grider of Dumas and Deborah Pendleton-Hutson of Amarillo; four sons, James Pendleton and Craig Pendleton, both of Sunray, Charles Pendleton of Dumas and John Pendleton of Amarillo; a brother, John Pendleton of Farmersville; a sister, Mary Luce of Dallas; 23 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. The family will be at home, seven miles southwest of Sunray. They suggest memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029. Cecil Grant PLAINVIEW - Cecil Grant, 86, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Elder Rex Griffin of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mr. Grant was born in Garretts Bluff, grew up in the Wellington area and moved to Plainview in the 1930s. He was a farm laborer, then later a cement contractor. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He married Lenora Taft in 1936 at Duncan, Okla. She died in 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Ortegon of Plainview and Isleta Jo Downing and Sarah Griffin, both of Washington; two sons, Charlie Wayne Grant of Plainview and Virgil Grant of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Charles J. Ingram PAMPA - Charles J. "Charley" Ingram, 67, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. The body will be cremated and not available for viewing. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Ingram was born in Grand Prairie and moved to Pampa in the 1950s. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired after 25 years as a fireman for the City of Pampa. He married Gerry Parker in 1953 at Portales, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy Ingram of Amarillo and Bobby Ingram of Pampa; six sisters, Irene Wyatt of Roswell, N.M., Helen Sorrels of Odessa, Betty Gallagher of Pampa, Jean Walker of Parisburg, Va., June Mears of Oklahoma City and Marie Ritchart of Bowie. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center or a favorite charity. Lillie Furn Clardy QUITAQUE - Lillie Furn Clardy, 49, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999. Mrs. Clardy was born in San Augustine. She married Charles Raymond Clardy in 1968 at Silverton. Survivors include five daughters, Rochelle Yates of Dallas and Lisa Desrosiers, Amy Clardy, Latika Clardy and Allison Clardy, all of Quitaque; a son, Alfie Clardy of Quitaque; her parents, Marcelia and Mae Reathia Holmon; three sisters, Mae Lee, Martha Kay and Louise; a brother, Otis Ray Holmon; and four grandchildren. Dennis D. Risinger QUANAH - Dennis D. Risinger, 61, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Young, minister, and the Rev. Jesse Dea, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home of Quanah. Mr. Risinger was born in Hardeman County and was a lifelong Quanah resident. He was a rancher who owned and operated a road and site construction company serving the oil field industry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Elaine Edmondson in 1981 at Quanah. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kade Lane Risinger and Reese Dee Risinger, both of Quanah; a sister, Janet Risinger Jones of Quanah; and a brother, Spence Earl Risinger of Quanah.
