Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Tulia Christian Fellowship Church at Tulia with the Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mrs. McClanahan was born in Pittsburg, Kan., and was raised in Ada, Okla. She attended schools in Stonewall and moved to Tulia in 1978 and to Kress in 1984. She worked for Swisher Memorial Hospital in Tulia for several years and had been a school nurse in Kress. She also had worked for Swisher County Headstart until May. She married Joe McClanahan in 1979 at Tulia. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lindsey McClanahan of Kress; a son, Jon McClanahan of Kress; parents, Bill and Janene Tackett of Coalgate, Okla.; four sisters, Sandy Brooks of Wilson, Okla., Billie Jean Dean and Kate Azlin, both of Seminole, Okla., and Brenda Kail of Newkirk, Okla.; a brother, Curt Tackett of Seminole; and grandparents, Clarence and Ima Shulze of Osborne, Idaho. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. The body will be available for viewing at Christian Fellowship Church in Tulia. Tommy Ray Ware BORGER - Tommy Ray Ware, 58, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Ware was born in Stinnett and was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson County. He was a veteran of the Army and a rancher. From 1968 until 1981, Mr. Ware served with the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Department and also was with the Borger Police Department. He was a member of the Angus Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Tim Ashton. Survivors include two sons, Danny Ware of Clarendon and Robert Ashton of Fritch; six daughters, Telenna Thompson of Georgetown and Theresa Trammell, Dedra Ware, Anna Grant, Loretta Mayberry and Beatrice Gamble, all of Borger; his mother, Leta Rena of Stinnett; three brothers, Carl Holliday of Stinnett, Jimmy Holliday of Bakersfield, Calif., and Ronnie Holliday of McAlister, Okla.; and 16 grandchildren. Charles A. Womble PLAINVIEW - Charles A. Womble, 62, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Womble was born and raised in Munday where he graduated from high school in 1956. In 1957, he moved to Plainview where he worked in the fertilizer business for 28 years. From 1988 until his retirement in 1996, he was owner and operator of Charlie's Welding and Construction. Mr. Womble was a member of First Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class. A longtime member of the Plainview Bar-None Rodeo Association, he served on the board of directors from 1981 until 1996. He rode with the World Champion Pony Express Team from 1969 until 1972. He married Donna Bedford in 1977. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Womble of Fort Worth and Blake Womble of Azle; two daughters, Tanya Bedford and Julie Kelly, both of Plainview; a brother, Bill Womble of Seymour; and four grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church missions or the Alzheimer's Association. Essie Cleo Nicholas PLAINVIEW - Essie Cleo Nicholas, 90, of Lubbock, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Plainview with Judith Crumbley and Kirk Crumbley, both of Lubbock, and Karen Berryman of Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Nicholas was born in Perrin and grew up in the West Texas area. She graduated from Ralls High School then received her teaching certificate in 1926 from North Texas College. In 1956, she earned her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. Mrs. Nicholas taught in schools in Ralls, Lorenzo, Skellytown, Cooper, Lubbock and Lockney. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a former resident of Plainview. She married Herbert Herman Nicholas in 1933 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Judith Crumbley of Lubbock; two sisters, Bobbie Brow of Plainview and Raynell Keller of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Children's Home of Lubbock or a favorite charity. Amarillo Bascom Lee Timmons Bascom Lee Timmons, 78, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Timmons was born in Amarillo and had been a lifetime resident. In 1939, he graduated from Amarillo High School, then attended the University of Texas and West Texas State College. During World War II, he served with the Navy in the submarine service. Mr. Timmons retired as a general contractor with Timmons Construction Co. He was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, the Lubbock Consistory of the Scottish Rite and the Khiva Temple where he was past president of the director's staff. Survivors include two brothers, Dick Timmons and Curt Timmons, both of Amarillo. The family will be at 913 Alta Vista. They suggest memorials be to Khiva Temple Travel Fund, P.O. Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105; or a favorite charity. Jack O. Ganders Sr. Jack O. Ganders, 71, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S. Western, with Dr. Gil Lain of the church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Ganders was born in Osceola, Mo., and was a Navy veteran. He was a retired truck driver who attended Paramount Baptist Church. He married Jeanette Petznick in 1974 at Roswell, N.M. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jack Owens Ganders Jr. of Corpus Christi, Buddy Carl Ganders of Portland, Tenn., Monroe N. Ganders of Amarillo and Steve Hinds of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Karen Sager of Socorro, N.M., and Kim Smith of Duarte, Calif.; three sisters, Jolee Stillwill of Champaign, Ill., Joann Johnson of Beggs, Okla., and Arcadia, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Billie Jo Thurman Billie Jo Thurman, 70, a former resident of Amarillo, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., in Amarillo with the Rev. Michael Carter of River Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Thurman was born in McLean and lived in the Amarillo/Canyon area for most of her life. She was a homemaker who moved to Porter in 1979. She married Flake D. Thurman in 1946 at Canyon. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Trent Thurman of Pensacola and Kent Thurman of Houston; a brother, Roby Wallen of Bedias; three sisters, Iva Lou Spillers of Amarillo, Lanette Gorden of Arlington and Frances Schaeffer of Omaha, Ark.; two half-sisters, Leona Scott and Dixie Johnson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 2 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. William Max Kyle William Max Kyle, 58, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Kyle was born in Winnsboro and moved to Amarillo in 1959 from Vinson, Okla. For more than 25 years, he was shop supervisor for Markle Manufacturing. He had been a corrections officer for the Texas Department of Corrections for the past eight years. He married Juanita Savage in 1961 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronnie Max Kyle of Amarillo and Leslie Dewayne Kyle of Round Rock; a brother, John Kyle of Amarillo; two sisters, "Tootsie" Tharp of Burkburnett and Ava Aiken of Henrietta; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 10 step-greatgrandchildren. Oklahoma Ralph Leo Blankenship GUYMON, Okla. - Ralph Leo Blankenship, 90, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, at Crawford, Ga. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Blankenship was born in Pattonsburg, Mo., and moved to Guymon when he was a child. He was the owner of a new and used furniture business, and at the time of his retirement sold wholesale chemical supplies in the Oklahoma Panhandle area. He was a member of Victory Memorial Methodist Church and of Guymon Masonic Lodge Post 335 AF&AM. He was a 67-year Mason. Mr. Blankenship was an Army veteran of World War II and had served in Patton's Ninth Army in Europe. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ruth Shackelford, and an infant son, Ronald Leo. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra B. Cook of Crawford, Ga., and Pam W. Bentley of Ordway, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. New Mexico John C. Bojorquez CLOVIS, N.M. - John C. Bojorquez, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Flagstaff, Ariz. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Bojorquez was born in Phoenix, Ariz., and moved to Clovis in 1971 from Flagstaff. He worked for the Navajo Army Depot for 20 years and for Babbitt Slaughter, both in Flagstaff. He retired in 1982. While living in Clovis, he did government work. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and AFGE Local 2308 at Cannon Air Force Base. He married Jennie J. Juarez in 1939 at Flagstaff. He was preceded in death by a son, David Bojorquez. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ray A. Bojorquez and Albert J. Bojorquez, both of Flagstaff, John S. Bojorquez of Valley Center, Calif., and Charles R. Bojorquez of Clovis; three daughters, Ernestine C. Ruiz of Flagstaff and Anita C. Fite and Margaret L. Gonzales, both of Clovis; two brothers, Gilbert Bojorquez of Santa Paula, Calif., and Fred Bojorquez of Corsicana, Texas; a sister, Matilda Chavis of Phoenix; 25 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mary N. Miller CLOVIS, N.M. - Mary N. Miller, 68, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Brad Rigney and the Rev. Greg Martin officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Miller was born and raised in Clovis. She was a housewife and drove a school bus for 25 years. She married William A. Miller in 1947 at Clovis. He died in May. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Miller. Survivors include a son, William "Billy" Miller of Clovis; three daughters, Leona Roberts, Donna Reid and Charlette "Charlie" Martin, all of Clovis; three brothers, Ray Fulgham of Clovis, Bob Fulgham of Peralta, and Walter Fulgham of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Faye Bradley of Lancaster, Calif., Daisy Eaton of Clovis, and Betty Webb of Prineville, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
