Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today St. Anthony's Cemetery with Deacon Jesse Guerrero of San Jose Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Orta was born in Elsa and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1960 from Hidalgo County. She was a homemaker and member of San Jose Catholic Church. She married Orencio Orta in 1950 at Kingsville. He died in 1995. Survivors include four sons, Noe Orta, Ishmael Orta and Rick Orta, all of Hereford, and Pablo Orta of Canyon; two daughters, Martha Caldwell of Hereford and Rosario Smabrano of Odessa; three brothers, Ignacio Pena of Mercedes, Israel Pena of Austin and Adres Pena of Amarillo; three sisters, Irma Lucero of Amarillo and Rosalinda Morrison and Imelda Marry, both of Hereford; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In 1969, he moved to Morton from Pearsall. He was a farmer. He married Adelina Garza in 1958 at Pearsall. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jessie Martinez of Morton and Marcos Reyna of Levelland; a daughter, Delamentina Martinez of Morton; two sisters, Clara Martinez and Juanita Mendez, both of Pearsall; a brother, Antonio Martinez of Pearsall; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-LilleyMcGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mr. Castillo was born in Evansville. For 25 years, he was a coal miner then was a farmer for 25 years. He was a Catholic and had lived in Earth for 37 years. He married Maria Emma Candanoza in 1954 at Littlefield. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janie Castillo of Dimmitt and Elva Garcia of Lamesa; three brothers, Adolpho Castillo, Cecilio Castillo and Lilo Castillo, all of Borger; two sisters, Augustina Sanchez of Borger and Crecia Flores of Ceres, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Hartley Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Thompson was born in Channing and graduated from Hartley High School. A charter member of the Hartley Study Club, she had held all offices in the club. She was a member of the FCE Club, Hartley Christian Fellowship Church, United Methodist Women and was secretary-treasurer of the Hartley Community Building. In 1983, Mrs. Thompson was elected Woman of the Year by the FCE Club. She married Robert Thompson in 1936 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Bobby Thompson of Hartley, Bruce Thompson of Dalhart; Allen Thompson of Channing and Sam Thompson of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Jim Shelburne of Washington Avenue Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Gruver was born and raised in Amarillo. He served in the Marines. He later worked for South Plains Security as a security guard and was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, David Kenneth Gruver and Robert Wayne Gruver, both of the home; a daughter, Alzada DeeAnn Gruver of the home; his mother, Wanda Gruver of the home; and two sisters, Linda Logston of Amarillo and Karen Rager of St. Louis, Mo. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 24, 1999 Ralph M. King Ralph M. King, 88, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999. Private family services will be at the King family ranch in New Mexico. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. King was born in Craig County, Okla., and moved to Boise City, Okla., in 1926 where he attended high school. He worked for the Ford Motor Co., for 20 years. In 1942, he moved to Albuquerque, N.M., where he owned and operated the Mesa Tractor Co. for 16 years. After his retirement, Mr. King made more than 120 violins and won many awards. He was a member of the National Old Timer Fiddlers Association. In 1997, he moved to Amarillo. He married Lila Adee in 1936 at Boise City. She died in June. Survivors include a daughter, Esther Barnett; two grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters. The family suggest memorials be to the Salvation Army, P.O. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in the Foursquare Church with the Rev. Tim Brittain officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Reed was born in Guymon where she was a lifelong resident and attended schools. She was a homemaker and a member of Foursquare Church since 1935. For several years, she was employed by Guymon Public School System. She married Rayburn Richard Reed in 1940 at Guymon. He died in 1991. Survivors include four sons, Ron Reed of Hoisington, Kan., Gene Reed of Guymon, Jerry Reed of Fowler, Kan., and Max Reed of Clemmons, N.C.; her mother, Viola Costner of Guymon; two sisters, Elsie Arnold of Meade, Kan., and Betty Dain of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Wiens had been a Beaver County resident since an early age. He attended Beaver County schools and graduated from the Greenough schools. He was a farmer. He married Bertha E. Berry in 1939 at Liberal, Kan. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Wiens of Enid; three daughters, Pat Dedmon of Carrollton, Texas, Laurette Bobbitt of Beaver and Terry Decker of Turpin; three sisters, Ruth Arp of Cupertino, Calif., Laura Moore of Forgan and Viola Schneider of Leesville, La.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
