Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Jernigan officiating. Arrangements are by Harrell Funeral Home of Elkhart. Mr. Hanes was born in Throckmorton. He was a cotton farmer in Lela for many years before moving to Elkhart in 1989. Survivors include his brother, Donald "Dink" Hanes of Iowa; a great nephew, David Childress of Shamrock; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews. Alma Totty Seitz MOBEETIE - Alma Totty Seitz, 91, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Mobeetie Cemetery at Mobeetie with the Rev. Steve Patterson, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Miami, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Seitz was born and raised in Mobeetie and moved with her family to Canyon. She graduated from West Texas Teachers College in 1930 and obtained her teaching certificate. She taught school in Mobeetie for 15 years and later taught in Miami for 13 years, retiring in 1973. Mrs. Seitz was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Miami and was a sponsor on many of the senior high school trips. She married Charlie Seitz in 1930 at Pampa. He died in 1957. She married Arthur Monroe Seitz in 1974. He died in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Charles Arthur Seitz of Amarillo and Wendell Seitz of Turkey; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Pampa. Wilma Gilreath Voyles MEMPHIS - Wilma Gilreath Voyles, 85, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Voyles was born in Alvarado and moved to Hall County in 1922 where she attended schools in Eli, Memphis and Lakeview. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and past member of the Memphis Little Theatre and the Atalantean Club. Her first marriage was to Jack Norman in 1935. He died in 1966. She then married Clint Voyles in 1969. He died in 1993. Survivors include four daughters, Janey Hardin of Childress, Kay Copeland of Anton, Carol Sheppard of Austin and Nancy King of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Ruth Adams and Frances Weathersbee, both of Floydada; a brother, Roy Gilreath of Willis Point; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church or Fairview Cemetery Association. Buster Hanna TURKEY - Buster Hanna, 86, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Samatis and the Rev. Melvin Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Turkey. Mr. Hanna was born in Comanche County and moved to Turkey in 1924. For many years, he was a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Hanna served on the Turkey School Board and the Farmers Home Administration County Committee. He was a Turkey city councilman and an active civic leader. He married Gladys Young in 1934 at Turkey. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bobby Keith Hanna of Vernon and Dolan Wayne Hanna of Dimmitt; a sister, Opal Cooper of Pima, Ariz.; two brothers, Clifton Hanna of Wichita, Kan., and Lowell Hanna of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Jack O. Ganders Sr. Jack O. Ganders, 71, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S. Western, with Dr. Gil Lain of the church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Ganders was born in Osceola, Mo. He was a Navy veteran. He was a retired truck driver and attended Paramount Baptist Church. He married Jeanette Petznick in 1974 at Roswell, N.M. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jack Owens Ganders Jr. of Corpus Christi, Buddy Carl Ganders of Portland, Tenn., Monroe N. Ganders of Amarillo and Steve Hinds of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Karen Sager of Socorro, N.M., and Kim Smith of Duarte, Calif.; three sisters, Jolee Stillwill of Champaign, Ill., Joann Johnson of Beggs, Okla., and Genevieve Cota of Arcadia, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Jack Dirickson Jack Dirickson, 68, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Mr. Dirickson was born in Earth and had lived in Amarillo since 1955. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 196. Survivors include a daughter, Dona Clements of Guymon, Okla.; a son, Steve Dirickson of Poulsbo, Wash.; a sister, Dollie Holley of Dayton, Nev.; two brothers, Ralph Dirickson of Houston and Roy Dirickson of Texas; and two granddaughters. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He attended Trinity Fellowship Church and worked for Canyon Drive Lumber Co. for 25 years in sales. He had worked in sales the past eight years at MRL. He married Judith Ridley in 1955 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lori Scott of Claude; a brother, Tom Lawson of Fresno, Calif.; four foreign exchange students, Svetlana Stepanova of Russia who now lives in Canyon, Ariana Kosian of Armenia, Federica Bocellari of Italy and Inna Samoylenko of Russia; and one grandchild, Maggie Scott of Claude. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Barnes was born in Lawrence, Kan. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had owned and operated Buster's Cafe for 30 years and worked as a guard for Pinkerton Security for 15 years. Survivors include a brother, Guy Barnes of Amarillo; and a sister, Betty Ham of Amarillo. Pearl Miriam Brandt Pearl Miriam Brandt, 80, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Memorial services were at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Sister Mary Morrissey, chaplain of Crown of Texas Hospice, officiating. Cremation and arrangements were handled by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Brandt was born in Tulsa, Okla. She was licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and California to practice as a registered nurse, retiring in 1978. She volunteered for service in the Army Nurse Corps, serving in World War II in the combat zone in the South Pacific. She married Richard Brandt in 1943 in Australia. Survivors include her husband; a son, James H. Brandt of Garland; a daughter, Patricia Brandt of Florida; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 3811 S. Taylor St. Joyce Rhoads Curtis Joyce Rhoads Curtis, 79, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mrs. Curtis was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1937. She worked for the Social Security Administration for 20 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and of the Susan Wesley Sunday School Class. She married R.L. Curtis in 1942. He died in 1987. Survivors include two nieces; three great-nephews and two great-nieces; and special friend, Billie Carson. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Thurston was born in St. Paul, Minn., and had lived in Amarillo since 1958. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She married Gorden D. Thurston in 1965 at Wheeler. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Jones, in 1984. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Jones and David Thurston, both of Amarillo; three daughters, Gail Hutton of Sacramento, Calif., and Dava Dunn and Kim Martinez, both of Amarillo; a brother, David Hoffman of Boulder, Colo.; four sisters, Gladys Koontz of Centerton, Ark., Renee Willett of Hope, Ark., Bernice Gallaher of Collinsville, Ill., and Patricia McNeil of Circle Pines, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Canyon Deene E. Donnell Deene E. Donnell, 82, of Canyon, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Canyon with the Rev. Richard Bales, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home Inc. of Canyon. Mr. Donnell was born in Silverton and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was involved in Future Farmers of America activities while his sons were in school. He had worked for Pioneer Natural Gas Co. He married Mary Frances Gidden in 1947 at Canyon. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Scott Donnell and Greg Donnell, both of Canyon, Alan Donnell of Pilot Point and Jody Donnell of Temple; two brothers, Judd Donnell of Kansas and W.C. Donnell of Canyon; and nine grandchildren. New Mexico Marie Fickers Waldhauser CLOVIS, N.M. - Marie Fickers Waldhauser, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by mass at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Carlos Chavez officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Waldhauser was born in East St. Louis, Ill., and moved to Clovis in 1939 after her marriage. She was a 60-year member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Alter Society, Curry County Cowbelles and the Clovis Women's Club. In 1930, she married Ted Waldhauser at South St. Paul, Minn. He died in 1988. Survivors include a son, Ted Waldhauser Jr. of Buena Vista; four daughters, Joanne Nuckols, Judy Vaughan and Jean Wicker, all of Clovis, and Jane Spencer of Alto; a brother, Don Fickers of South St. Paul; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Elsewhere Lorene Clark Davis STEPHENVILLE - Lorene "Rene" Clark Davis, 91, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Pampa. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Exray Cemetery at Erath County with Rodger Weems officiating. Arrangements are by Stephenville Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis had lived most of her life in Erath County. She retired after 45 years of service as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital of Fort Worth. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Nolen E. "Ned" Davis in 1923 at Marietta, Okla. Survivors include two nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; seven greatgreat-nieces and nephews.
