Mr. Hill was born in Amarillo. Survivors include a brother, Mike Hill of Gardendale; and his stepfather, Carroll Pursley of Midland; three nephews; and a niece. Florence E. Dale Florence E. Dale, 70, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Alan Lobaugh, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Cremation arrangements were handled by N.S. Griggs & Sons. Additional memorial services and burial will be in Philip, S.D. Mrs. Dale was born and raised in Philip. She married C.K. "Ike" Dale in 1948 at Philip. They moved to Amarillo in 1979 where they owned and operated The Husky Truck Stop until 1988. They also owned and operated Bi Rite Liquor Stores in Amarillo from 1989 until 1993. She retired in 1993. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Dale of Amarillo and C.K. Dale III of Philip; three daughters, Claudette Griswald and Kelly Manzanarez, both of Gillette, Wyo., and Chris Mooney of Longmont, Colo.; and 12 grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. Floyd S. Gammage Floyd S. Gammage, 82, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in New Covenant Church, 3300 Kokomo St., Plainview, with Ron Brunson and Frank Hammon, both of New Covenant Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Gammage was born in Alanreed and moved to Amarillo in 1988 from Plainview. He owned and operated service stations. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Gammage served in Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhinelands. He was a member of the Lions Club. He married Esther Forguson in 1923 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Danley of Hereford; a daughter, Margie Gammage of Santa Fe,; six brothers, Lee Emro Gammage of El Paso, N.H. "Ham" Gammage of Lockney, Thomas E. Gammage of Midland, David Gammage of Plainview, Byron E. Gammage of Dallas and Jim A. Gammage of Santa Fe; three sisters, Ruth Kirk of Buena Park, Colo., Wilma F. Kay of Altus, Okla., and Katherine Sistrunk of Plainview; five grandchildren; and greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Gideons or the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Gertrude Inman Gertrude "Pete" Inman, 84, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. David Evans of the church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Avenue. Mrs. Inman was born in Willow, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1945. A retired bookkeeper for Albertson's, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Samuel Inman, a stepson, Samuel Inman Jr., and a stepdaughter, Joyce Brown. Survivors include a son, James Adams of Amarillo; a sister, Lela Mae Biggs of Fort Worth; a stepson, Wilford "Sonny" Inman of Houston; two stepdaughters, Pat Day and Wanda Earline Arp, both of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. The family will be at 2116 S. Hughes. They suggest memorials be to Trinity Baptist Church. Canyon Nita Hindman Nita Hindman, 54, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Services will be private. Arrangements and cremation are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. She was born in Weatherford and grew up in Texas, New Mexico and Pennsylvania. In 1965, she returned to Texas where she graduated from West Texas State University. While attending WT, Ms. Hindman began a 22-year career with the American Quarter Horse Association. She resigned in 1989. In 1991, she was a penback rider for Amarillo Livestock Auction and Tulia Livestock Auction. In 1994, Ms. Hindman became a commercial driver for Canyon Transit. In 1995, she also worked in the office of Bobby Edmond Horse Sales. She is survived by a brother, Robert Lewis Hindman of Corpus Christi. The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace, Amarillo, TX 79106; or Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101. Jewell E. Pruitt Jewell E. Pruitt, 92, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Price officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Pruitt was born in Grayson County and moved from Clovis, N.M., to Canyon in 1946. She was practical nurse at Neblitt Hospital in Canyon and Underwood Clinic in Amarillo. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Canyon, the First Baptist Church choir and Canyon Senior Citizens. She married Charley Pruitt in 1927 at Mangum, Okla. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1981; two daughters, Nina Marie Gray in 1972 and Othella F. Adcock in 1998; and a son, Boe Hollis in 1996. Survivors include two sisters, Fern Newton of Canyon and Ira Watson of DeKalb; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, Music Department, 17174 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015. New Mexico Joe B. Martinez TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Joe B. Martinez, 54, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Anne's Catholic Church by the Rev. John C. Daniel. Burial will be in the family plot of Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Martinez was born in Tucumcari and had been a long-time resident of Bernalillo. He worked in construction and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at Bernalillo. Survivors include two sons, Joe C. Martinez of Las Cruces and Jonathan Martinez of Bernalillo; a daughter, Bonnie Melon of Las Cruces; his mother, Ursina Martinez of Tucumcari; two sisters, Precilla Cruz and Marcella Bain, both of Tucumcari; two brothers, Robert Martinez of Tucumcari and Ben Martinez of Colorado; and four grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home until time for Mass. Jack DeArmond Bebb CLAYTON, N.M. - Jack DeArmond Bebb, 72, of Harrisonville, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Clayton Church of God with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clayton, officiating. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Bebb was born in Thomas and attended school at Thomas and Clayton. In 1944, he joined the Merchant Marines and was discharged in 1947. He then returned to Clayton to farm. From 1951 until 1965, Mr. Bebb worked for Phillips Petroleum in Guymon, Okla., then was transferred to Perryton. In 1967, he went to Elkhart, Kan., until he was transferred to the Stinnett and Fritch areas in 1971. Mr. Bebb retired in 1985 after almost 35 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In 1996, he moved to Harrisonville. He married Sybil Lee Callis in 1948 at Clayton. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janet Mobray of Elkhart and Debbie Corpening of Harrisonville; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Gruver Masonic Lodge No. 1306, Gruver, TX. Oklahoma Larry Dean Christy PAWNEE, Okla. - Larry Dean Christy, 64, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. Memorial services were at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bible Baptist Church at Pawnee with the Rev. Marvin Warren officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Texhoma Cemetery at Texhoma with the Rev. Terry Davidson officiating. Arrangements are by Poteet Funeral Home. Mr. Christy was born in Liberal, Kan., and was raised in California, where he attended school. He joined the Navy in 1951 and served as an aviation mechanic during the Korean War. He married Vivian Dosha Reed in 1952 at Los Angeles. In the mid 1980s, they moved to Pawnee from Stratford, Texas. After serving in the military, he worked in the trucking business in California and later operated a salvage and iron business in Perryton, Texas. He attended the Baptist Bible College at Springfield, Mo. He became a minister and served with churches in Oregon, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma, including Fellowship Baptist Church in Spearman, Texas, from 1975-1982. Survivors include his wife; six children, Shirley Norris of Guymon, Virginia Elliott of Texhoma, Patty Christy of Pawnee, Terry Hunt of Edmond, Bill Christy of Greeley, Colo., and Chris Christy of Gruver, Texas; his mother, Leola Marie Christy of Lindsay, Calif.; a brother, Bob Christy of Lindsay; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Area Norman Lee Allen PAMPA - Norman Lee Allen, 66, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Barry A. Loving, associate minister, and the Rev. Darrell W. Evans, retired minister, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Allen was born in Beckham County, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1955 from western Oklahoma. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War from 1951-54. Mr. Allen was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1657, 5th Regiment Combat Association, the Disabled American Veterans and the Freedom Museum. He was a member of the Executive Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Knife and Fork Club. Mr. Allen was a member, a scout representative to the official board, past deacon and board member of the First Christian Church. He also had been a JYF sponsor, a member of the Bethany Bible Class and worked with the Biscuit Ministry. In 1988, Mr. Allen retired as an assemblyman for Cabot, Ingersol Rand and IRI. He married Leona Jones in 1953 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Allen of Amarillo; a daughter, Pam Wilson of Wichita Falls; four brothers, Robert Allen of Paso Robles, Calif., Lynn Allen of Dill City, Okla., Tad Allen of Cheyenne, Okla., and Carl Allen of Amarillo; four grandsons; and a granddaughter. The family requests memorials be to First Christian Church, 1633 N. Nelson, Pampa, TX 79065. Dolly Perryman Brazil QUANAH - Dolly Perryman Brazil, 94, of Conroe, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Quanah First Baptist Church with Dr. Cliff Herrington of Conroe officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home of Quanah. Mrs. Brazil was born in Montague County and was a 1927 graduate of Texas Woman's University. In 1975, she moved from Quanah to Conroe. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Quanah then was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Conroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas "Mack" Brazil Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Brazil of Conroe; two grandsons; and two granddaughters. Bernardo L. Martinez HEREFORD - Bernardo L. Martinez, 69, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in La Iglesia De San Jose Catholic with the Rev. Domingo Castillo officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Rix Funeral Directors of Hereford. Mr. Martinez was born in Pleasanton and moved to Hereford in 1954. He retired as a custom farmer and custom harvester. He was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic. He married Esperanza de los Santos in 1954 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bernardo Martinez and Samuel Martinez, both of Littlefield, and Freddie B. Martinez and Bernardo Martinez Jr., both of Hereford; four daughters, Virginia Arcy of Littlefield, Margarita Gonzales of Amherst and Sylvia Boyd and Sarah Maddux of Hampton, Va.; six brothers, Genaro Martinez and Johnny Lopez, both of Lubbock, Santos Martinez and Lalo Martinez, both of Dimmitt, Margarito Martinez of Albany and Jose Angel of Colorado; four sisters, Anita Carranco of Lubbock and Maria Falcon, Lucy Fuentes and Rebecca Martinez, all of Dimmitt; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He had been a longtime Borger resident. Survivors include his stepfather, John Eastepp of Borger; and a stepbrother, Lundy Eastepp of Austin. Roy Lee Bayless Jr. MULESHOE - Roy Lee "Sonny" Bayless Jr., 68, of Hale Center, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Services will be at 7 p.m. today in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe with the Rev. Robert Brown of Trinity Baptist Church of Muleshoe officiating. Mr. Bayless was born in Muleshoe and had lived in Hale Center since moving from Plainview in 1987. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Sunny Bayless and Rhonda Calvery, both of Muleshoe, Piki Widener of Germany and Jennipher Briggman of Dallas; a brother, Myron Bayless of Washington; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jimena Yasira Alvarado BOOKER - Jimena Yasira Alvarado, infant daughter of Fidel and Yulisa Alvarado, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Peters Catholic Church in Booker with the Rev. Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be Heart Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Jimena was born in March in Zactecas, Mexico. Survivors include her parents and a brother, Herberto Alvarado of the home. Elsewhere Jim Madewell KILGORE - Jim Madewell, 65, a former resident of the Canyon/Amarillo area, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, at Longview. Services were in Kilgore by Rader Funeral Home, 401 N. Main. Mr. Madewell was born in Kilgore where he graduated from Kilgore High School and attended Kilgore College. He owned and operated a used car dealership in Kilgore. While living in Amarillo, he worked for Farmer Brothers Coffee. Survivors include three sons, Jim Madewell Jr. of Canyon, David H. Madewell of Austin, and Mathew Madewell of Bastrop; his mother, LaVerne Madewell of Kilgore; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to the High Plains Children's Home or a favorite charity. Michael Lynn Hansen WICHITA FALLS - Michael Lynn Hansen, 43, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Heavener of Dean Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. Mr. Hansen was born in Atlanta and lived most of his life in Wichita Falls. In 1974, he graduated from Wichita Falls High School. He was a member of the I A M Union. Mr. Hansen worked as a civil service aircraft mechanic for 24 years at Sheppard Air Force Base. He was a leadman for Lockheed-Martin and a member of Dean Baptist Church. He married Linda Hawkins in 1983 at Wichita Falls. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Shaine Hansen of Wichita Falls; three daughters, Danielle Hansen of Norfolk, Va., Julia Hansen of Amarillo and Misty Hansen of Wichita Falls; his mother, Neda Hansen of Wichita Falls; a sister, Mary Lee Wooster of Wichita Falls; and two brothers, Donald Ruth and Doug Ruth, both of Wichita Falls. Leo Bullock TEXARKANA - Leo Bullock, 72, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Abundant Life Bible Church in Atlanta, Texas with the Rev. Danny Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery by Texarkana Funeral Home. Mr. Bullock was born in Becton and was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Wylie Oil Co., and was a member of Abundant Life Bible Church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Addison Bullock of San Antonio; a son, David Bullock of Lubbock; two daughters, Barbara Sikes of Idalou and Donna Glosup of San Antonio; three brothers, G.K. Bullock Jr. of Lubbock, Wyle Bullock of Aubrey and Joe Bullock of Lazbuddie; three grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Gladys Padgett Salley LUBBOCK - Gladys Padgett Salley, 88, of Wolfforth, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John's United Methodist Church in Lubbock with the Revs. Bruce Parks, Earl Blair, Bobby McMillian and Mr. R.K. Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park by FranklinBartley Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mrs. Salley was born in Saluda, S.C. With her husband, she pastored churches in the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. These included congregations in Lubbock, Shallowater and Plainview. She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women and a former member of Order of Eastern Star. She married the Rev. S.H. "Homer" Salley in 1934 at Mitchell County. Preceding her in death were her husband in March and a daughter, Ellie Lee Salley in 1951. Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Henry L. Salley of Plainview, Sam Salley of Lubbock and Melvin Salley of Levelland; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
