Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church at Groom with the Rev. Byron Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the Groom Cemetery by Kitch Funeral Home of Liberal, Kan. Mrs. Bichsel was born in Groom where she lived most of her life except for 20 years when she lived in Amarillo. She was a co-manager of the Dairy Queen at Groom and a member of the Groom First Baptist Church. She married Leonard Nepper in 1945. He died in 1968. She married Wallace Bichsel in 1969 at Groom. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dr. Gaylon Nepper of Liberal, and Terry Nepper of Canyon,; a daughter, Cindy Babcock of Groom; two stepdaughters, Adela Kotara of Groom and Theresa Abernathy of Austin; four brothers, Kenneth Black of Groom, Doug Black of Amarillo and Herschel Black and Chubby Black, both of Hereford; two sisters, Maxine Quick of Amarillo and Sybil Brown of Groom; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Fannie Bell Smithers Brown HEREFORD - Fannie Bell "Frankie" Smithers Brown, 89, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Parkside Chapel in Hereford. Burial will be at noon Saturday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Mrs. Brown was born in Endee, N.M. She was a retired beautician who owned the Baylor Beauty Shop in Waco for many years. In Hereford, she was a member of the Fellowship of Believers. She married Anthony Brown in 1982 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1988. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Kay Smithers of Pampa; special friends, Vel and Bill Moore of Dallas; and several stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and stepgreat-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to one's favorite charity. Cassie McLaren Hicks Nelson CLAUDE - Cassie McLaren Hicks Nelson, 96, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Claude with Dr. Gerald Aalbers and the Rev. Ed Plants of Kirkwood, Mo., officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, Armstrong Chapel, Claude. Mrs. Nelson was born in Joy and moved to Claude in 1911. After graduating from Baylor University, she taught school in Dalhart and Claude. She was an active member of Claude First Baptist Church and was involved with the nursery for 40 years. Mrs. Nelson judged many flower shows in Amarillo. She was a member of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, Colonel Richard Henry Lee Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Esther McCory Chapter, past matron Order of Eastern Star, Clarendon Chapter No. 6, Claude Business Women and the Federated Women's Club. In 1928, she married Squire Nelson who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Joe Merl; a sister, Betty Crain; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bertha Dyer Moore PAMPA - Bertha Dyer Moore, 87, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. MST Monday in East Aztec Baptist Church om Gallup, N.M., with the Rev. Gene Turk, pastor, officiating. Local arrangements are by Carmicheal-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Moore was born in Valley Mills and moved to Gallup in the early 1930s from Pampa. In Gallup, she managed the gift shop of the El Rancho Hotel and later owned the Sweet Shop. She worked for Sellards Jewelry Store and R&R Dress Shop for several years and then managed the Sweetbriar Shop for 18 years until her retirement in 1975. Mrs. Moore was a charter member of the BPOE. In 1994, she and her husband returned to Pampa. She married Gordon Moore in 1933 in Sayre, Okla. Survivors include her husband; three nieces, Barbara Williams of Pampa, Jerilyn Moore and Linda Caviglia, both of Fresno, Calif.; two nephews, John Moore of Alameda, Calif., and James Moore of California; a great-niece; and three greatnephews. "Jack" Clark, 81, of Lubbock, died Thursday, March 25, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sixth Street Church of Christ in Friona with Leon Talley, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Friona by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Clark was born in Gatesville and moved to Friona in 1955. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps. In 1983, he retired from farming. For 11 years, Mr. Clark worked in maintenance for the Friona Independent School District. He was a member of the American Legion and the Sixth Street Church of Christ. He moved to Lubbock a year ago. He married Charlcie Kemp in 1946 at Summerfield. She died in 1988. Survivors include a son, Jackie L. Clark of Lubbock; a daughter, Janice Connally of Midland; a brother, Bob Clark of Friona; five sisters, Robbie Stephan of Hereford, Inez Lee of Dimmitt, Jessie Claunch of Fort Worth, Jean Baize of Friona and Jewell Cheatham of Lincoln, Ark.; and four grandchildren. Burke W. Carver PAMPA - Burke W. "Bob" Carver, 70, died Thursday, March 25, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. In 1983, he retired after 31 years as a pumper for Diamond Shamrock. He attended Briarwood Full Gospel Church. He married Dulsa "Dut" Reynolds in 1980. Joe Augustine of the church officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Baca was born in Trinidad, Colo., and moved to Muleshoe in 1969 from Pueblo, Colo. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She married Fred Baca in 1947 at Trinidad. He died in 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Josie Guerrero of Muleshoe; a sister, Mary Hernandez of Olton; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Turnbow, in 1996. Clifton Igo, pastor emeritus of Second Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park. Mr. Campbell was born in Deport and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was service manager for automobile dealerships including Vaughn Chevrolet, Nix Motor Co., and Bob Brown Motors. After his retirement, he was a metal artist for 12 years. He married Mary Frances Fennell in 1933 at Durant, Okla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nerita Janel Campbell, in 1935. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kay Freeman of Lubbock and Karen Reeves of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Ralph Campbell of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Shane Ray Siegeler Shane Ray Siegeler, 27, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 22, 1999. He attended Palo Duro High School and was self-employed in construction. He was a member of Bykota Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Black was born in Seoul, Korea, and moved to Amarillo in 1962. She was a homemaker. She was the first international ministry member at First Baptist Church, receiving numerous awards for her leadership in international crusades. She was an American/Korean Crusader in Korea in the capacity of witnessing and interpretation. She was a missionary and crusade guest speaker in many churches throughout the world. She was the third leader from 1987 until 1991 of the Mary Jo Starnes/Korean W.M.U. Organization. Mrs. Black was active in starting and building the Songtan Central Baptist Church at Pyungtek-City, Korea. She married Earl Black 1961 at Seoul. He died in 1998. Survivors include two sisters, ChoungSu and Sun-Ja, both of Korea; and other special family members. The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church Susie Black Missionary and International Work Fund. Gregorio Cedillos Gregorio Cedillos, 63, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 20, 1999. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Cedillos was born in Salvador and moved to Amarillo a year ago from Los Angeles. He was a member of Baptist Renovacion Church. Survivors include his wife, Mercedes; three daughters, Lucy Martinez of Amarillo, Marina Cedillos of Salvador and Dora Hernandera Cedillos of Mexico; three sons, Douglas Cedillos and Lazaro Cedillos, both of Amarillo, and Miguel Cedillos of Mexico; and 12 grandchildren. The family will be at 1609 Goldenrod. James M. Smith James M. Smith, 52, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Smith was born in Foard County and attended Crowell High School. In 1984, he retired as sergeant first class after 20 years in the Army. He was a veteran of Vietnam where he received the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and a Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon. He married Ilse Eberl in 1968. She died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Smith of Ingolstadt, Germany; two sons, Anthony Smith and James Smith of Canyon; five sisters, Patricia Robertson, Leila Cowdrey, Rita Hinkle, Cindy Clyburn and Judy Carpenter. She retired from Cummins Supply Co., and was a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton E. Dye, in 1990. Mr. Thongvanh was a crane operator for Scrap Processing Co. He had been in the Laotian Army and was a Buddhist. Mrs. Bynum was born in Owlet Green and had lived in Amarillo for 60 years. She worked for a tax accountant and was a poet. She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Hood, in 1962. Survivors include a son, Jon Le Ward Hood of Amarillo; two sisters, Rachel Ferguson and Lucille Harris, both of Dallas; and two grandchildren. New Mexico Orine C. McDaniels TEXICO, N.M. - Orine C. McDaniels, 79, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Poulsbo, Wash. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel at Clovis. Burial will be in Texico Cemetery. Mrs. McDaniels was born in Childress, Texas. She graduated from Fort Lewis Junior College at Durango, Colo. She worked as an accountant with Host International Airport Concessionaire. She married Willard Maley in 1938 in Amarillo. She later married R.T. McDaniel in 1950 at Cloudcroft. Survivors include a son, Will McDaniels of Monrovia, Calif.; two daughters, Kodie Levine of Tempe, Ariz., and Norma Burk of Poulsbo; a brother, Tom Casey of Houston; three sisters, Marion King of Lott, Texas, Clara Harvey of Texico, and Minn Pruitt of Tucumcari; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Forrest S. Atchley CLAYTON, N.M. - Forrest S. Atchley, 89, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Atchley was born in Carmen, Okla., and moved to New Mexico in a covered wagon at age 4. He graduated from Grenville High School. He was active in the Baptist Church as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Atchley was one of the founding members of the Sierra Grande Cowboy Camp Meeting and started the Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast in Clayton. He served for three terms in the New Mexico legislature as well as in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. He was a delegate to a Republican National Convention and founder of an international business. He married Ruby Edna Smith in 1934. She died in 1991. Survivors include four daughters, Violet Brockman of Clayton, De Anna Richardson and Elaine Aschbacher, both of Sedan, and Teena Atchley of Odessa, Texas; a son, Wayne Atchley of Amarillo; a sister, Genevieve Dillon of Albuquerque; two brothers, Gene Atchley of Clayton and John Atchley of Portales; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Hattie Lea Mills OKLAHOMA CITY - Hattie Lea Mills, 74, a former Pampa, Texas, resident, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Mustang United Methodist Church at Mustang, with the Rev. Randy Hodgson officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa, Texas, with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Mills was born in La Junta, Colo., and was raised in the Redlands community outside Idabel. She graduated from Hayworth High School. She moved to Pampa in 1953 from Elk City. She worked for Dixie Parts for two years and the First United Methodist Church for 11 years as church secretary. She moved to Yukon in 1980 and worked for the Ridgecrest United Methodist Church for two years. She was a member of the Mustang United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women at Mustang. She also was a member of the WinSome Sunday School Class. She married James Arther Mills in 1945 at Oklahoma City. He died in 1971. Survivors include a daughter, Coreta Sue Ray of El Reno; two sons, Elvin Ronald Mills of LaPorte, and Kelvin Keith Mills of San Marcos, Texas; her mother, Gladys Pulte of Idabel; three sisters, Alene Mathews and Donna Dollarhide, both of Idabel, and Doris Whisenhunt of Navasota, Texas; two brothers, Donald Pulte of Idabel, and Billy Pulte of Kemp, Texas; and two grandchildren.
