Services will be private. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mr. Dennis was born in Texico, N.M. During the Korean War, he served with the Air Force. He was employed as a house painter in the construction industry. He married Josie B. Baca in 1965 at Clovis, N.M. Preceding him in death was a son, Matt Dennis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Eugene Dennis of McAllen; four daughters, Rhoda Cotherman of Frisco, Eugenia Fernandez of San Antonio and Norma Jean Dennis and Myra McGee, both of McAllen; two brothers, Jerry Dennis of Pampa and Edward Dennis of Roswell, N.M.; two sisters, Maxine Garrett of Ruidoso, N.M., and Dorothy Gaunt of West Covina, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Ella Wanna Landrum Sammann TULIA - Ella Wann Landrum Sammann, 88, former Tulia resident, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Tulia with Jim Landrum of Mound City, Kan., officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Sammann was born in Cordell, Okla., and moved to Texas when she was two weeks old. In 1948, she moved to Swisher County from Floyd County then moved to Lubbock in 1971. She married Arthur Sammann in 1934 in Portales, N.M. He died in 1969. She also was preceded in death by a son, Welborn Lee Horrell, and a daughter, Yvonne Stack. Survivors include a nephew, Welborn "Bill" Landrum of Garland; two greatnephews and a great-niece; six greatnieces and nephews. Leslie Harrah STINNETT - Leslie Harrah, 47, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mr. Harrah was born and raised in Borger where he was a lifelong resident. He was a crane operator for Phillips Petroleum Co., and a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. He married Donna Mims in 1970 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; a son, Leslie W. Harrah of Borger; a daughter, Teresa Coward of Borger; his mother, Dorothy Harrah of Stinnett; a brother, Jerry Harrah of Skellytown; a sister, Sharon McCullar of Guymon, Okla.; and three grandchildren. J.S. Neel MEMPHIS - J.S. Neel, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. O.K. Bowen and Jim Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Neel was born in Justine and was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was a veteran of foreign affairs, past president of Rotary Club, director of his Sunday School class and a member of First Baptist Church. He also was a rancher. He married Betty Gene Milam in 1945 at Memphis. Neel of Keller; and nine grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Alma Marshall TEXLINE - Alma Marshall, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Texline United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Bayley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Marshall grew up in the Henrietta, Okla., area. In the early 1940s, she moved to Hartley and then to Texline in 1945. With her husband, Mrs. Marshall farmed in the Draper community until retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Texline United Methodist Church and the Draper Home Extension Club. She married Clifton Marshall in 1935 at Henrietta. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Marshall, and a daughter, Helen Laverne Burton. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mildred Reagan of Texline; four sisters, Elsie Mae Himes of Bushnell, Fla., Anna Brunaugh of Bunker Hill, Ill., Freda Musick of Amarillo and Rose Butler of Dennison; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. New Mexico Mary Kathryn Smith CLOVIS, N.M. - Mary Kathryn Smith, 50, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. Mrs. Smith was born in Clovis where she had lived all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Fourth and Cameo Church of Christ. She married Paul Smith in 1969 at Clovis. Mrs. Garcia was born in Colonias and moved to Clovis in 1941. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community and the St. Rita Society. She married Cruz Garcia in 1934. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1974; two sons, Billy Garcia in 1948 and Jimmy Garcia in 1985; and a daughter, Elba Quintana in 1995. Mrs. Harrington was born in Mount Holly, N.J. She graduated from Mount Holly High School. In 1943, she married Vernon DeWitt Harrington in Birmingham, Ala. She was a homemaker. Amarillo Marilyn Kaiser Meadows Marilyn Kaiser Meadows, 63, of Corpus Christi and a former Amarillo resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at San Antonio. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo with the Rev. Victor Miller officiating. Mrs. Meadows was born in Weatherford, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo until moving to Corpus Christi in 1996. She attended school in a one-room school house at Gyp Hill, between Clinton and Weatherford, Okla. In 1953, she moved to Skellytown and graduated from White Deer High School in 1954. She attended Draughon's Business College in Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a member of Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo and Bartholomew Episcopal Church at Corpus Christi. She married Charles Meadows in 1958 at Skellytown. He died in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Rachelle Short of Flower Mound and Pam Dallas of Corpus Christi; a son, Dace Meadows of Corpus Christi; a brother, Arlen Kaiser of Jenks, Okla.; and six grandchildren. Box 50433, Amarillo, TX 79159. Ivan Forrest Crockett Jr. Ivan Forrest Crockett Jr., 77, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Pastor Bill Gehm officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Crockett was born in El Paso and came to Amarillo in 1960 from France. He graduated from Los Angeles City College. He attended Grace Community Church. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, the Air Force Association, American Legion and High Plains Scottish Heritage Society. He was an Air Force veteran and was a B24 bomber pilot during World War II. He retired from the Air Force where he also tested helicopters at San Marcos Air Force Base. He received the Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster, the highest honor a pilot can receive while in the military. He married Lorraine Bradley in 1945 at San Francisco. Survivors include two sons, Ivan Forrest Crockett III of Hunt and Dale Bradley Crockett of Georgetown; five daughters, Toni Gael Woodman of Ames, Iowa, Donna Marie Crockett Heath of Amarillo, Diane Lee DiSalvo of Davie, Fla., Vivian Irene Harrell of Opelika, Ala., and Cindy Ann Crockett of Buda; two sisters, Ramond Edna Hunt of La Jolla, Calif., and Barbara Malmo of Torrance, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. At the age of 15, he started working for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Amarillo and Dallas. He retired as a production manager. Mr. Oates attended Amarillo High and Amarillo College. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Quinlan. He married Wanda Wear in 1933 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Oates of Lubbock and Bob Oates of Longview; and two brothers, Charley Oates and Wiley C. Alexander, both of Amarillo. Mr. Maxwell was born in Hollis, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Wellington. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed as a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. He married Virginia Maxwell in 1946 at Childress. She died in 1994. Buck in 1950 at Spearman. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carolyn Buck of Amarillo; two brothers, Elvis Pool of Checotah, Okla., and Elbert Pool of DesArc, Ark.; two sisters, Ruth Isaacs and Dee Bruceh, both of Checotah; and three grandchildren. Albert Julian Archuleta Albert Julian Archuleta, 45, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999. Mr. Archuleta was born in San Antonio and graduated from Dalhart High School. He moved to Amarillo in 1981 from Dumas. He was employed in the beef packing industry and attended St. Laurence Cathedral and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He married Cecilia Silva in 1976 at Dalhart. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jessie Archuleta of Amarillo; two daughters, Wendy Yolanda Archuleta and Guadalupe J. The body will not be available for viewing. Oklahoma Esther Irene Simmons GUYMON, Okla. - Esther Irene Simmons, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Lothman of the Living Word Fellowship officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Hedley Cemetery at Hedley, Texas. Mrs. Simmons was born in Gould and moved to Guymon in 1989 from Clarendon, Texas. She graduated from Gould High School in 1934. She was a homemaker, a Baptist church member and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She married Othell Simmons in 1944 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1984. Survivors include a son, George Simmons of Waco, Texas; a daughter, Sue Keenan of Guymon; a sister, Letha Messenger of Brownfield; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Renna Cooper Davis HOOKER, Okla. - Renna Cooper Davis, 95, of Liberal, Kan., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal with Glen Walton and Neville Buchanan officiating. A second service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Frederick Church of Christ in Frederick. Burial will be in Frederick Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mrs. Davis was born in Silverton, Texas and graduated from high school in Electra, Texas in 1924. She attended business college in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked as a stenographer and later worked for 27 years for the Soil Conservation Service in Fort Worth. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Western Avenue Church of Christ and the Hospital Auxiliary at Southwest Medical Center, both in Liberal. She was the first president of the Fort Worth Fireman's Auxiliary. Her first marriage was in 1928 to Thomas Albert Harrison at Electra. He died in 1954. Her second marriage was to Arthur Page Davis in 1957 at Electra. He died in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sheila Gould. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Gloria Overbey of Montridge, Tenn., and Merry Weatherby of Hardesty; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon until time of service today in Liberal and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday in Frederick.
