Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Orville Rogers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. He was a native of Fredericksburg and a Stinnett resident for 39 years. He married Faye Hatfield in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. Mr. Burrier was a master blender for Phillips Petroleum Refinery. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Damon Burrier, in 1998. Survivors include his wife, Faye; two daughters, Coleen Penrose of Houston and Constance Meyer of Austin; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. "John" Judd, 75, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Clarendon Church of Christ with Mike Suiter, minister of the San Jacinto Church of Christ in Amarillo, and Don Stone, minister of the White Deer Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery of Clarendon by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Judd was born in Lark. He was a resident of Amarillo for 15 years before moving to Clarendon in 1960. He had been a general contractor most of his life before his retirement. He was an Army veteran and a 35-year member of the Clarendon Church of Christ, where he served as deacon for several years. He married Willene Burgett in 1942 at Hollis, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glenn Judd of Georgetown and Eddy Judd of Clarendon; three brothers, Preston Judd of Clarendon, Dick Judd of Wellington and Buck Judd of Amarillo; five sisters, Helen Wisdom and Imojean Johnson, both of Amarillo, Juanita Fister of Austin, Janell Standifer of Yukon, Okla., and Betty Lindley of Clarendon; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ruby Campsey QUANAH - Ruby May Campsey, 80, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Church of Christ, with Jack Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral. Mrs. Campsey was born in Whitesboro. She lived in Kirkland and Quanah most of her life. She was a retired clerk for M.E. Mosey Variety Store, where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married John Curry Campsey in 1935 at Hardeman County. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984; a daughter, Peggy Joyce Melton, in 1973; and a son, J.C., in 1995. Survivors include a son, Jack of Quanah; a sister, Lorene Albritton of Vernon; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Betty Bostick OLTON - Betty Bostick, 82, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Olton Cemetery with Mark Gunter officiating. Arrangements are by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Olton. Mrs. Bostick was born in Burneyville, Okla., and moved to Olton in 1927. She was a member of Olton Eastern Star and Lubbock Bridge Club. She married Vernon Bostick in 1942 at Clayton, N.M. He died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Bostick of Lubbock; a sister, Ettie Neil of Levelland; and a brother, McDonald Turner of Amarillo. Brendan was born in Pampa and was raised in Canadian. Burial will be in the Garden of Beatitudes in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Brown was born in Bryson. She moved to Borger in 1942 from Collingsworth County. She was a homemaker, a farmer and a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Claude Brown in 1972. Survivors include two sons, Verlon D. Brown of Borger and Joe Clinton Brown of Santee, Calif.; a daughter, Claudia M. Hart of Green Valley, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. McNeill was born in Zanesville, Ohio, and had lived in Lake Meredith Harbour since 1975. She previously lived in Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. She married Carl McNeill in 1954 at Albuquerque, N.M. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Moore, in 1963. Survivors include her husband and a sister, Virginia Harding of Zanesville. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Leon Ferguson FLOYDADA - Leonard Leon Ferguson, 77, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Sisemore, pastor, and the Rev. Jimmy McGuire of Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Floydada. A lifelong resident of Floydada, Mr. Ferguson was born in Floyd County and attended Starkey School, then graduated from Floydada High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. After retiring as a farmer, Mr. Ferguson worked for Davis Lumber Co. for 10 years. He was a former commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5616 and was chairman of the board for the Floyd County Soil and Water Conservation District. Mr. Ferguson was a member of First Baptist Church of Floydada where he was a deacon and had taught Sunday School. He married Willie Mae "Bill" Luttrell in 1949 at Claude. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Steve Ferguson of Crosbyton, Larry Ferguson of Floydada, Tony Ferguson of Spearman and Robert Ferguson of Slaton; a brother, R.R. Ferguson of Floydada, three sisters, Letha Atkinson of Pasadena, Carmon Mason of Victoria and Pearl Ferguson of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Dollie Mae Brown Wilson WELLINGTON - Dollie Mae Brown Wilson, 88, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Feemster, pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church in Lampasas and the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Quail Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mrs. Wilson was born in the Lillie community of Collinsworth County. She attended school in Lillie and graduated from Wellington High School in 1929. In 1951, she received her bachelor's degree from West Texas State College then received her master's degree in education in 1953. From 1930 until 1933, Mrs. Wilson taught in Lillie then taught in Quail from 1934 until 1935. She taught in Wellington the next year. In 1938, she returned to Quail and taught until her retirement in 1979. Mrs. Wilson was a 20-year member of the Retired Teachers Association and served as its president for two years. She was a longtime member of the Collingsworth General Hospital Auxiliary where she served in all offices including president. She was involved in Red Cross blood drives and in starting the local mammogram screening. In 1988, Mrs. Wilson was given a Seven Who Care Award. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, served on the advisory board of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, tutored college and high school students and was a quilter. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in Keenagers. She married Woodrow Wilson in 1936 at Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970 and by a son, Gano Wilson, in 1998. Survivors include a son, Bill Wilson of Wellington; a daughter, Judith Ann McQuay of Shamrock; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Box 1032, Wellington, TX 79095. Floyd Poer PLAINVIEW - Floyd Poer, 88, died Sunday, May 23, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Poer was born in Stephens County. In 1914, he moved with his family in a covered wagon to Plainview where he was raised and attended school. He farmed and ranched in several counties and lived in Plainview, Lubbock, Vernon and Shamrock. From 1935 until 1943, Mr. Poer owned OK Drug Store in Plainview. He also served on the Plainview City Council in 1939. He received an award in the late 1960s as the youngest person, up to that time, to have served on the city council. In 1967, Mr. Poer received the Willbarger County Outstanding Conservation Award. He was a member of the Plainview Lions Club and was a Methodist. He married Vira Lee Hamilton in 1932 at Plainview. She died in 1986. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Hall of Vernon and Martha Wood of Salt Lake City, and three grandchildren. Clyde Uptergrove HALE CENTER - Clyde Uptergrove, 90, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham, pastor, and the Rev. J. Dean McNamara, hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Uptergrove was born in Seymour and moved to Hale Center in 1927 from Petersburg. In 1968, he retired as owner and operator of Clyde's Garage. He was a member of the Lion's Club, First Baptist Church and was a Boy Scout leader. He married Jewel Walls in 1930 at Clovis, N.M. She died in April. Survivors include two sons, Roy Uptergrove and Ron Uptergrove, both of Hale Center; a daughter, Betty Owens of Hale Center; two sisters, Earlene "Winnie" Johnson of Abernathy and Irene Loyd of Silverton; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Citizens Cemetery with Don Stone, minister of White Deer Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. King was in Lelia Lake and lived in Canyon for several years before moving to Clarendon in 1972. In 1977, he retired as service manager for Pioneer Natural Gas. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Jewel Ruth Moore in 1941 at Altus, Okla. She died in 1990. Survivors include a son, Steve Howard King of Charleston, W.V.; a sister, Wilma Batson of Denton; and a grandson. Berneice Payne MEMPHIS - Berneice Payne, 87, of Lakeview, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church in Memphis with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Payne taught school for more than 35 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lakeview. She married Russell Payne in 1946 at Lakeview. He died in January. Survivors include two daughters, Tommie Newton of Abilene and Judy Fulton of Perryton; two sisters, Wanda Smith of Greenville and Genevia McFadden of Commerce; a brother, James Patterson of Bronson; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Lakeview Cemetery Association. Amarillo Betty Shaw Betty Jean Shaw, 64, of Amarillo, died Monday, May 24, 1999. Mrs. Shaw was born in Lynchburg, Va., and had lived in Amarillo since 1970. She was a homemaker. She married Jerry G. Shaw in 1957 at Albuquerque, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Debra J. Ator of Lorena; two sons, Robert Shaw Sr. and William Shaw, both of Amarillo; a sister, Shirley Coles of Charleston, W.Va.; three brothers, Sam Coles of Lynchburg, Va., Richard Coles of Amarillo and Dan Coles of Atlanta; and six grandchildren. Mason, 89, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 22, 1999. The body was cremated with arrangements by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Mason was born in Bolton, Kan. He was a mechanic and a World War II U.S. Army veteran, receiving two bronze stars. He was a member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association. Survivors include a niece and two nephews; and a care-giver, Mary Johnson. It is suggested that memorials be to the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. She also was a member of the Ladies Day Guild and Beta Sigma Phi. She married Lee A. Ford in 1957 at Lipscomb County. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kimberly White of McKinney and Tracy Tellman of Canyon; two sisters, Frances Hughes of Pampa and Sherry Jennings of Irving; two brothers, Marvin Born and Donnie Born, both of Follett; and three grandchildren. From 1944 until 1977, he was employed by Phillips Petroleum. He was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. He married Loraine McMinn in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include a son, Wayne Ray of Denton; a daughter, Beverley Wilson of Roswell, N.M.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was born in Amarillo and had lived here the past 10 years. She graduated from Amarillo High School and worked in electronics. She was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church where she was active in various activities. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Afton B. Smith, in 1971 and by her second husband, Dole Johnson, in 1988. She is survived by a brother, J.R. Lundegreen of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Boy's Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001. Dora E. Young Dora E. Young, 95, of Liberal, Kan., and formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, May 24, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo with the Rev. Rick Mathis, minister of West Amarillo Church of Christ, officiating. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. June 8 in Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal with Gene Glenn officiating. Local arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Young was born in Bushong, Kan. She graduated from Liberal High School and attended Kansas Teachers College. For seven years, she taught in one-room school houses in Seward County. After moving to Amarillo, Mrs. Young worked for C.R. Anthony's for 49 years until her retirement in 1983. She worked at the downtown store, then was manager of the Southlawn store before finishing her career at the 45th and Western store. Mrs. Young was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church. In 1995, she moved to Liberal. She was a resident of Beaver County Nursing Home since April. She married Leonard Young in 1924 at Liberal. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and by a son, Leonard Young Jr. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley Boys Ranch and Girls Town, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174.
