Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jack Stone, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oklahoma Lane Cemetery at Oklahoma Lane by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Cain was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and was a correctional officer for the state of Texas. He worked in the Choice Moore Unit in Bonham for three years and in the Telford Unit in New Boston. He moved to Wake Village a year ago from Bonham. Survivors include a daughter, Savannah LaRay of Wake Village; his parents, Janice and Gene Snell of Muleshoe; three sisters, Linda Watson of Panama City, Fla., and Katrina Scott and Rebecca Price, both of Muleshoe; six brothers, Gary Cain of Muleshoe, Andy Snell of Burleson, Lincoln Snell of Weatherford, Dennis Snell of Aledo, Jessie Snell of Albuquerque, N.M., and Douglas Snell of Wichita Falls; and his grandmothers, Julia Symcox of Farwell and Opal Cain of Clovis, N.M. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Ruth Hamilton Oswald PLAINVIEW - Ruth Hamilton Oswald, 90, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Family Life Chapel at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Oswald was born in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. She moved to Hereford in 1947 and back to Plainview in 1965. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pastors Class. She married Roy Oswald in 1928 at Fort Worth. He died in 1993. Her daughter, Mary Ruth Finley, died in 1995. Survivors include a son-in-law, Sy Finley of San Diego; and a grandson, David Finley of Encino, Calif. Merle Potter PLAINVIEW - Merle Potter, 86, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bartley-Silva Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Cunningham, pastor of Plainview Revival Center, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Potter was born in Floyd County and was a health care aid for many years. Her husband, Oswald Potter, died in 1954. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Alice Cross of Post; Betty Potter Lee of Bridgeport and Ruth Milliron of Amarillo; a son, Billy Potter of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Lee Oneal Davis TURKEY - Lee Oneal Davis, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Dreamland Cemetery with the Rev. Davis Borden Price of Lubbock officiating and the Rev. Melvin Clinton assisting. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Davis was born in Johnson County, Okla., and was a farmer. He served with the Army in the Medical Corps during World War II and attended First United Methodist Church. He married Nadine Hulen in 1946 at Turkey. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Lynn Davis of Turkey; and two sisters, Nerene Crump of Rowlett and Imogene Price of Canyon. Mildred Lucile Northam QUANAH - Mildred Lucile Northam, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Quanah Church of Christ with District Judge David McCoy of Childress officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Northam was born in Yale, Okla., and moved to Hardeman County in 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of Groesbeck Church of Christ. She married J.T. Northam in 1940 at San Angelo. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Eddie Northam of Hayes, Kan., and Woodie Northam of Quanah; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Shirley Ann Montgomery SHAMROCK - Shirley Ann Montgomery, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Plymouth Cemetery with Cottie Tarbet officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Montgomery was born and raised in Plymouth. She served in the Marines from 1954 until 1959 and lived in California from 1961 until returning to Shamrock in 1979. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shamrock and, for the past 11 years, was a resident of Shamrock General Hospital. Survivors include a daughter, Mona Lisa Zedlitz of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mot Coleman of Shamrock, Geneva King Carr of El Paso and Rita Favor of Childress. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to the Multiple Sclerosis Society; or a favorite charity. Hilda Koch SHAMROCK - Hilda Koch, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Darrouzett Cemetery, Darrouzett, with the Rev. Clayton Conley, pastor of Elm Street Baptist Church in Woodward, Okla., officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Koch was born and raised in Lipscomb County. She lived for several years in the Abilene area before moving to Shamrock in 1994. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett. She is survived by a brother, Edwin Koch, of Woodward. Imogene Zinck HEREFORD - Imogene Zinck, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Fuller officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. MST in Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, N.M. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Zinck was born in Hayden, N.M. After marrying Leon "Sleepie" Zinck in 1947 at Raton, N.M., they moved to Clayton and owned and operated Sleepie's Ben Franklin Store for 25 years. Her husband died in 1986. For 12 years she lived in Hereford, where she was a member of the P.E.O. Organization and First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Leon "Buster" Zinck Jr. of Mesquite; two daughters, Karen Abney Temple of Hereford and Wendi Aitken of Tempe, Ariz.; two brothers, L.D. Combs of Hereford and Robert Combs of New York City; two sisters, Margie Hartwig of Hereford and Alma Nell McBride of Bolivar, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Robert Booth Mayfield ALLISON - Robert "Bob" Booth Mayfield, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Lindley, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rose Hill Cemetery at Merkel. Arrangements are by StickleyHill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mr. Mayfield was born and raised in Merkel. In 1957, he received a bachelor's of science degree in agriculture and, for 35 years, was ranch manager for Indian Mound Ranch. For the past 26 years, he lived in Allison, where he was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Debbie Griffin of Perryton; a granddaughter, Lisa Michelle Mayfield of Perryton; and a grandson, Scott Wesley Mayfield of Perryton. Streeter CANADIAN - A.J. "Jim" Streeter, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in W.S.& E.C. Jones Community Pavilion with Donald Hill officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Mount Carmel Cemetery at Baca County, Colo., with Donald Hill officiating. Local arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors and Colorado arrangements are by Dykes Mortuary of Walsh. Mr. Streeter was born on the Streeter Ranch in Baca County and attended schools in Valley View, Colo., and Walsh. He moved to Roberts County in 1953, to Canadian in 1996, and worked on ranches in Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas. For 40 years, he was a deputy in Roberts County and was a member of the Sheriff's Association of Texas. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lonita Beaty of Tulsa, Okla., Noveta Stephenson of Canadian and Nadean Morris of Pampa; a sister, Augusta Meyeres of Jal, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Kenneth Earl Milbern Kenneth Earl Milbern, 67, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Rick Mathis, pastor of West Amarillo Christian Church, officiating. Mr. Milbern was born in Dewey, Okla., and moved to Amarillo 38 years ago. He attended Oaks Indian Mission School in Oaks, Okla., Amarillo College and Texas Tech University. For 10 years, he served in the National Guard and, for several years, was a carpenter in the Los Angeles area. In Dumas, he worked for American Zinc Company and, in Amarillo, for both the city as sewer lift supervisor and Amarillo Day Nurseries as a handyman. He was also an instructor for the Texas Water Utilities Commission and a member of West Amarillo Christian Church. He married Margaret C. Sayre in 1950 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Hazel B. Warren of Sharpsburg, Ga.; a son, Kim Allen Milbern of Pueblo, Colo.; a sister, Joyce R. Vinson of Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, G. Duane Milbern of Dumas; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 205 Arch Terrace. Elsewhere Mary Ethel Hazell Trotter DALLAS - Mary Ethel Hazell Trotter, 99, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Grove Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Trotter was born in Hart County, Ky., and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Trotter; a son, Walter Lee Trotter Jr.; a daughter, Mary Evelyn Jones; and a grandson, John "Jay" Allen II. Survivors include her husband, William Warren Jones II; a daughter, Phyllis Ellena Jones; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
