She attended Forest Hill Elementary School, Travis Middle School and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1993. Miss Woods was employed as a child attendant for the Children's Learning Center. She was a member of the Greater Love Community Church. Survivors include her parents, Larry and Cynthia Woods of Amarillo; and four brothers, Chris Woods, Wyman Woods and Larry Woods, all of Amarillo, and James White Jr. of Plainview. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Devenport was born in Hillsboro and moved to Randall County in 1929. She was a member of the Non-Denominational Christian Church. She married Charles Devenport in 1921 at Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979 and by two daughters, Verna Bailey in 1978 and Charline Huggins in 1988. Survivors include three daughters, Mattie Ruth Robinson and Katie Stone, both of Canyon, and Margaret Maddox of Stagecoach, Nev.; two sons, Edwin Devenport of Canyon and Farrell Devenport of Lubbock; a sister, Alda Moree of Santa Anna, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bates was born in Queens, N.Y. Mrs. Myers was born in Larkin, Ark. For 15 years, she and her husband lived on the Hess ranch and other ranches around McLean where she was a cook for the ranch hands. She was a member of the Church of Christ in McLean. She married Leon David "Jack" Myers in 1936 at Wynnewood, Okla. He died in 1982. Survivors include a son, Leon Myers of Abra community; a daughter, Carleen Massey of Lubbock; a sister, Thelma Wise of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Mr. Johnston was born in Bonham, raised in Durant, Okla., and attended schools in Ashley, Okla. In 1946, he moved to Tulia where he worked for 25 years for Love Brothers Oil. He retired after 10 years with John Deere. During the 1950s, Mr. Johnston served with the National Guard. He married Cordie Mae Kinslow in 1954 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra Lynn Myers of Amarillo and Nine Mae Johnston of Plainview; three sons, James M. Johnston of Platter Flat, Okla., Bradford Garland Johnston of Tulia and Charles Dean Johnston of Denison; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and 15 step-grandchildren. John Ohlig, celebrant. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Huerta was born in Mexico where he attended schools. In 1968, he moved to Floyd County from San Antonio. He was an elevator operator at Producers Co-op in Doughtery for many years and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He married Anjela Rodriguez in 1962 in Mexico. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Huerta Jr. of Plainview; six daughters, Silvia Huerta of Dougherty, Maria Elvia Carrasco of Hart, Neomi Machado and Noelia Barrientos, both of Floydada, and Maria Elvira Huerta and Olivia J. Huerta, both of Canyon; four brothers, Amado Huerta of San Angelo, Donaciano Huerta of San Antonio, and Jesus Huerta and Antonio Huerta, both of Eagle Pass; a sister, Sotera Martinez of Monterey, Mexico; and nine grandchildren. Brad Reeves of First United Methodist Church of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Maddox was born in Lamar County and moved to Muleshoe in 1945 from Ralls. He had been a farmer and truck driver. He was a Methodist and 50year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Muleshoe. He married Lois Olen Reese in 1937 at Ralls. She died in 1965. Survivors include two sisters, Sallie Williams of Houston and Maggie Reese of Brownfield. The family suggest memorials be to the Odd Fellows Lodge of Muleshoe, TX; or the Muleshoe Public Library.
