Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bob McAlister, a retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Hubbard was born in Beaver County and raised in Dalhart. He worked on farms in the Dalhart area for many years. Survivors include three sisters, Cleo Hale of Carson, Calif., and Alpha Chumley and Velma Moore, both of Dalhart. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Richard Scully. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. Chacon was born in Brownfield and had lived in Dumas most of his life. He worked in maintenance at Monfort and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his father, Guadalupe Chacon Jr. of Dumas; his mother, Soila Chacon of Dumas; two sisters, Rosemary Acosta and Diana Gonzales, both of Dumas; three brothers, Paul Chacon and Felix Chacon, both of Dumas and Frank Chacon of Amarillo; and two daughters, Sabrina Chacon and Raini Chacon. The family will be at 306 S. Birge. Amarillo Daily News Sept. 29, 1999 Ormel Lee Walker HEREFORD - Ormel Lee Walker, 92, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Tom Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Walker was born in Silverton and graduated from West Texas State College. She taught third grade in Forrest, N.M., and Country School south of Tucumcari, N.M. She retired from teaching in Hereford. She married Virgil Walker in 1932. He died in 1997. Survivors include a son, Virgil Dwaine Walker of Hereford; a daughter, Doris Nell Hunter; a brother, Orville Doak of Lubbock; a sister, Lola Mae Reynolds of Tucumcari; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Sept. 29, 1999 Ila Mae Hutchinson PADUCAH - Ila Mae "Noodie" Hutchinson, 87, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Paducah with the Rev. Richard Dickerson, pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Amarillo, and the Rev. James Hooper, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Paducah Garden of Memories by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Brandon, Hill County, to one of the original pioneer families of the Chalk community in Cottle County. In 1929, she graduated from Paducah High School. A resident of Cottle County for 80 years, Mrs. Hutchinson lived in Chalk community until moving to Paducah in 1985. She was a homemaker. She married Harry Glen Hutchinson in 1935 at Paducah. He died in 1990. Survivors include a son, Don Hutchinson of Paducah; a daughter, Jane Bostick of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Findley of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Liles was born in Pampa and moved to Fritch 22 years ago from Dumas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sanford and was a therapist technician III at the Amarillo State MHMR Center. She married Glenn Liles in 1986 at Fritch. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Eddie Daniels of Fritch and Dan W. Daniels of San Antonio; her mother, Bernice Doughty of Fritch; a brother, Jim Doughty of Borger; a sister, Mary Sestak of Yukon, Okla.; and nine grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Sept. 29, 1999 Roy Marvin Moody BORGER - Roy Marvin Moody, 91, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. A Borger resident for 56 years, Mr. Moody was a native of Sallisaw, Okla. He retired as co-owner and plant manager of Borger Laundry and Dry Cleaners. He was preceded in death by his wife, India Ola Moody, in 1981. Survivors include a son, Marvin Moody of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Norma Pinard of Borger and Helen Sue Wiggins of Abilene; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born in Hearne and moved to Amarillo in 1945. He attended Carver Elementary, Carver Junior High School and Carver High School, where he had been a running back for the Carver Dragon football team. He was a former employee of Mead's Bakery. As the result of a robbery and assault, he had been a quadraplegic more than 25 years. He married Barbara Ann Williams in 1959. Survivors include four sons, Delbert Williams and Shammon Williams, both of Temecula, Calif., Steven Williams and Bertram Williams, both of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; two daughters, Celeste Williams and Angela Jackson, both of Lake Elsinore; three brothers, Samuel Williams of Austin, Walter L. Williams of Hagerman, N.M., and Gus Williams Jr. of San Diego; six sisters, Katie McKat, Willie J. Simmons and Carrie J. Smith, all of Amarillo, Maybelline Anderson of Sacramento, Calif., Elizabeth Hodge of St. Louis, and Nell Lyn Scott of Dickinson; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 4106 Oneill St. Amarillo Daily News Sept. 29, 1999 Jack E. McGee Jack E. McGee, 73, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Lynn Garrett of First Baptist Church officiating. Cremation arrangements were handled by N.S. Griggs. Mr. McGee was born and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1944, attended Amarillo College for two years and the University of New Mexico. Mr. McGee was a World War II veteran of the Navy. He was the owner and operator of Jack McGee Lock and Key Co. in Amarillo since 1966 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Dorothy Nell Simmons in 1953 at Albuquerque, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael McGee of Fresno, Calif., and Shawn McGee of Amarillo; a daughter, Shannon Campsey of Amarillo; his mother, Rowena Hunter of Amarillo; two sisters, Carman Snook of Amarillo and Betty R. Coble of Wylie; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Department of Veteran's of Affairs Hospice Program or the Veteran's Administration Hospital Hospitality House, 6010 W. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dr. Chester O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Graham was born in Mountain View, Ark., and moved to Amarillo in 1949 from Abilene. She was a seamstress and homemaker. She belonged to First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Lee Gray, in 1970 and by her second husband, Robert D. Graham, in 1983. Survivors include two sons, Willard Gray of Childress and Wilborn Gray of Amarillo; a daughter, Lela Gray of Amarillo; a sister, Ella Wiman of Pasadena; three grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Pierce, 99, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mr. Pierce was born in Enville, Tenn., and moved to Texas in 1905. He married Janey Inez Teague in 1920. They moved to Clovis in 1924. They lived two miles west of Clovis on Steed Place. They moved to Pleasant Hill in 1925 and to Ranchvale in 1929 where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1946, they moved to Clovis, where he owned and managed rental property and sold real estate. He was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998; two sons, Buck Pierce in 1979 and Muggins Pierce in 1998; and a daughter, Mary Virginia in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Neta Gant of Clovis; a sister, Rozeltha Clark of Clovis; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Leon Marks, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Marks was born in Collin County, Texas. He moved by covered wagon to Bellvue, Texas, when he was 4 and from there he and his family moved by train to Texico. They settled on section 24, halfway between Texico and Clovis on the old Texico Highway. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1932. During his senior year, he was on the basketball team that won the national finals in Chicago. His team picture was in the Basketball Hall of Fame. He majored in agriculture economics at Texas Tech University and after graduating, he began working for the Farm Home Administration until retiring in 1940. He married Dorothy Heinz in 1939. They bought a farm just east of his father's. He retired from farming in the early 1970s and moved into town, renting out his land. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and was a promoter of the flood control dam at Running Water Draw. He was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include a son, Robert "Butch" Marks of Clovis; three daughters, Sandra Mueller of Concord, Mass., Nancy Lavery of Ridgewood, N.J., and Kay Locke of Pinetop, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Sept. 29, 1999 Raymond Elkins Purcell CLOVIS, N.M. - Raymond Elkins Purcell, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Purcell was born in Hereford, Texas. For a while, he worked as a cowboy in the Endee area and later was a brand inspector at the Clovis Livestock Yards for several years. He also worked for various ranches and as a custodian for the Clovis Public School system. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Beverly Johnson and Ramona Brooks, both of Clovis; a brother, Bill Purcell of Portales; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Steve Kulback, minister of First Baptist Church, and Delane Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Miss Gurule was born in Tucumcari and was a longtime resident of Logan until moving to Clovis a year ago. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Logan. Survivors include her son, James Chance Gurule of Clovis; her parents, Joey Gurule of Logan and Linda Gurule of Roswell; two brothers, Joseph Con Gurule of Ruidoso and James Chester Gurule of Logan; her grandparents, Marvin and Shirley Hoadley of Logan; her great-grandparents, Ronald and June Bennett of Logan; and her fiancee, Steven Stewart of Clovis.
