Mrs. Scott was born in Unity, Saskatchewan, Canada. She had been a nurse more than 50 years, retiring in 1990. Survivors include a son, Gary Billstrom of Amarillo; a daughter, Cindy Green of Amarillo; a brother, Dale Rasor of Dearborn, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Temple B'Nai Israel. Louise Clement Louise Clement, 73, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Clement was born in Hedley and moved to Amarillo in 1987 from Borger. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Joy Sunday School Class, Monday Bridge Club and also had served as treasurer of the Panhandle 56 Villagers. She married Cecil Clement in 1946 in Amarillo. He died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Dale Clement of Chicago and Joe Clement of Midland; a daughter, Kathy Fleming of Amarillo; a brother, Clyde Skinner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Ronald McDonald House; Kwahadi Indian Dancers; or a favorite charity. They will receive visitors from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Vivian Lorraine Rios Vivian Lorraine Rios, 35, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery East with Ron Pollen, pastor of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Rios was born in Sacramento, Calif. She moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Le Seuer, Minn. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Floydada. Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Rose Martin of Amarillo and Bonnie Martin of McAllen; three sons, Michael Max Palacios and Hector Palacios, both of Floydada, and Jose Louis Quiltan Jr. of Mission; her mother, Bonnie Palacios of Floydada; two sisters, Virginia Martin of Land O'Lakes, Fla., and Valerie Garza of Amarillo; and a grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Texas Panhandle Mental Health Authority. Evelyn T. Flaherty Evelyn T. Flaherty, 91, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Memorial mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Flaherty was born in Colorado Springs. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy and Loretto Heights College in Denver. She attended the University of Chicago and received her master's degree from the University of Denver with the aid of a grant from the Mental Health Association of Amarillo. During World War II, Mrs. Flaherty headed the Traveler's Aid and USO in Amarillo. She retired in 1976 as director of social services for the Veteran's Administration Hospital. Mrs. Flaherty was a member of St. Jude's Circle at St. Mary's Church, the Amarillo Garden Center and was past president of the Living Soil Society. She also was a member of the American Association of University Women and was chairman of its antique group. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Flaherty. Survivors include two brothers, T. Raber Taylor and William B. Taylor, both of Denver; and a sister, Mary E. Sullivan of San Jose, Calif. Paul Quinn Dodson Paul Quinn Dodson, 79, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia, with Windell Taylor, chaplain of the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. Dodson was born in Wynnewood, Okla., and grew up in Memphis where he graduated from high school. During World War II, he served in the Army's 281st Field Artillery Battalion. In the 1950s, he moved to Amarillo where he was employed by March Electric and the Amarillo Independent School District. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Margaret Tisdal who died in 1992. He is survived by a sister, Lavern Hays of Dumas. The family suggests memorials be to the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106. Nettie Mae Bevans Nettie Mae "Nana" Bevans, 83, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Scott E. Herbert, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton with the Rev. Harold Waterbury officiating. Mrs. Bevans was born in Ellis County, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for 34 years. She was a homemaker and member of Paramount Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Copeland, in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Laura Juarez and Berwyn Flowers, both of Perryton; a son, Randy Bevans of Amarillo; a brother, Virgil Lee Holt of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. William Butler William Butler, 69, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5401 Bell St., with Scott Hendricks, stake president, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by SchoolerGordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Butler was born in Frost and moved to Amarillo in 1968 from Arlington. He was a veteran of the Army. In 1972, he retired from the aerospace and aircraft industries which included working for the Bell Helicopter overhaul and modification plant, Martin-Marietta and Chancevault. He was a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints. He married Helen L. Pierce in 1950 at Dallas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bill Butler of Amarillo; three daughters, Jerilyn Brooks of Pampa, Sandra Northrop of Austin and Deborah Wing of Amarillo; three sisters, Edna Ballew of Frost, Nellie Averitt of Dallas and Gladys Wilson of Cedar Hill; and 13 grandchildren. Viewing will be from noon until 1:15 p.m. prior to services Saturday at the church. Ralph Joy Christian Ralph Joy Christian, 92, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Christian was born in Cedar Valley, Mo., and graduated from Durham High School. In 1939, he moved to Amarillo from Durham, Okla. He was an Army veteran of World War II. For 32 years, he owned and operated R&E Refrigeration in Amarillo. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge No. 1239. He married Etta Mae Christian in 1939 at Midland. She died in 1995. He is survived by a son, Ron Gene Christian of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Brayden was born and raised in Lubbock. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Abbey McCrady of the home; his grandparents, Larry and Frankie McCrady of Canyon, Barbara Fry of Lubbock, and Richard and Amy Fry of Choteau, Mont.; and his great-grandparents, Lucille Fry of Tucson and Harold and Dorthea Hadley of Ridge Crest, Calif. Lt. Col. Kenneth D. Turner KILLEEN - Lt. Col. Kenneth D. Turner, DDS, 58, formerly of Amarillo, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Hallie Tolbert Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Killeen City Cemetery by Crawford-Bowers Funeral Directors in Killeen. Lt. Col. Turner was born in Waller and moved to Amarillo in 1947. He graduated from Carver High School in 1959 then attended West Texas State University. He graduated from MeHarry School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tenn. In 1998, he retired from the Army Dental Corps in Killeen. He married Mary Lee in 1966 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jon Eric and James Turner of Amarillo; a daughter, Kendra Bradford of Killeen; his father, James Turner of Amarillo; four brothers, Dizzy, Johnny and Benny Turner, all of Amarillo, and Charles White of New Brunswick, N.J.; and three sisters, Helen Turner, Anna Joyce Turner and Patricia Jackson, all of Dallas. Area Aileen Wall DALHART - Aileen Wall, 86, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Dalhart Church of Christ with Ray Young, minister of Church of Christ in Plains, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Wall was born and raised in Cottle County. She graduated from Paducah High School. They farmed in Littlefield and Hereford before moving to Dalhart in 1965. In 1997, she moved to Plains. She was a member of Dalhart Church of Christ. She married J.R. "Raney" Wall in 1939 at Wall. He died in 1991. Survivors include two sons, Charles Wall of Amarillo and Dan Wall of Plains; a daughter, Marylois of Plains; a brother, Clayton Ryan of Paducah; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mary Ruth Thompson DALHART - Mary Ruth Thompson, 74, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Dalhart Church of Christ with Gaylord Cook, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Thompson was born in Quanah. After her marriage, she and her husband moved to College Station, then moved to Dalhart in 1945 and opened the Dalhart Animal Hospital. She finished her college degree after her children left home. Mrs. Thompson was awarded the Texas Science Teachers Award in 1981. In 1990, she retired from teaching in the Dalhart Public School system then was a court appointed special advocate. She was a member of the Dalhart Church of Christ. She married Charles Thompson in Quanah. Survivors include a son, Bert Thompson of Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter, Cindy Blevins of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. Jimmy Ronnie Shields BORGER - Jimmy Ronnie Shields, 54, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Brown Funeral Directors' Chapel of the Fountains with Jerald Chadwick, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mr. Shields was born in Wellington. A retired painter, he was a member of Painters Union No. 544 in Amarillo. He was a Baptist. Survivors include three brothers, Billy Ray Shields of Hobbs, N.M., Robert Shields of Waxahachie and John Lee Shields of Fall River, Mass.; and two sisters, Jo Ann Cobb of Stinnett and Helen Welch of Clarendon. The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of the Panhandle, 300 S. McGee, Borger, TX 79007. Alfred T. Jones MORTON - Alfred T. "Jack" Jones, 81, of Lubbock, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with Rey Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Jones was born in Jack County and moved to Lubbock from Morton in 1970. He owned and operated Modern Motor Service and retired as a mechanic from the Texas Highway Department in 1983. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Morton. He married Sarah V. Jones in 1938 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jackie Buckner of Muleshoe and Bobbie George of Morton; a sister, Maxine Ares of Odessa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Ruth Elizabeth Blenden PLAINVIEW - Ruth Elizabeth Blenden, 102, of Hale Center, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in IOOF Cemetery in Watonga, Okla., with Brad Blenden, her grandson from Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Blenden was born in St. Louis and lived in Lockney from 1940 until 1952. She then moved to Andrews and Oklahoma. In 1986, she returned to this area after living in Bloomfield, N.M., for 10 years. She married Harry E. Blenden in 1919 at Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967 and by an infant son. Survivors include two sons, Easton Blenden of Lockney and Dick A. Blenden of Carlsbad, N.M.; a daughter, Sue Thornton of Farmington, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Woodrow Roger Paige BORGER - Woodrow Roger Paige, 74, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in University Heights Christian Church with the Rev. Charles Stillman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. A native of Chelsea, Okla., Mr. Paige lived in Borger for 42 years. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps in China, Burma and India. A first lieutenant, he also served in the Korean War. Mr. Paige was a safety supervisor for J.M. Huber Corp. He was a member of University Heights Christian Church, Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1242 and the Cherokee Nation. He married Margaret Paige in 1957 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bobby Joe Paige and Michael Paige, both of Borger, and Roger Paige of Grove, Okla.; two daughters, Norma Jackson of Nocona and Deannie Downey of Amarillo; a brother, Anson Paige of Nowata, Okla.; and nine grandchildren. The family will be at 508 Galahad.
