Juanita Fancher Juanita "Nita" Fancher, 72, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bolton Street Baptist Church with the Rev. John Denton, the Rev. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Fancher was born in Gainesville and graduated from Lakeview High School. In 1952, she moved to Amarillo from Donley County. A homemaker, she was a member of Bolton Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School class for many years. She married Walter Fancher in 1944 at Oceanside, Calif. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ted Fancher of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Comer of Wellington; four brothers, Nolen Hill, Orin Hill, Ralph Hill and Ross Hill, all of Clarendon; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1907 S. Highland. They suggest memorials be to Northwest Texas Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Dustin Lynn Chapman Dustin Lynn Chapman, 18, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Mr. Chapman was born and raised in Amarillo. He attended Palo Duro High School where he played football and wrestled. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his parents, Carla Chapman of Amarillo and David Chapman of Fort Gibson, Okla.; a brother, Tony Chapman of Amarillo; his grandparents, Carl and Martha Reagan of Amarillo; and his great-grandparents, Lonnie and Georgia Crabb of Bentonville, Ark. The family suggests memorials be to Immanuel Baptist Church, 925 N. Mirror, Amarillo, TX. Noel F. Jones Noel F. Jones, 76, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. F.M. Byford of Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Mr. Jones was born in Whitewright and moved to Floydada in 1935 where he graduated from high school in 1941. From 1943-45 during World War II, he served in the Army. He received a good conduct medal, a victory ribbon and four overseas service bars. In 1941, Mr. Jones moved to Amarillo. From 1945 until his retirement in 1978, he was employed by Pittsburg Plate Glass Co. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. He married Maiza Young in 1953 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Noel Kervin Jones, in 1970. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shyrlene Shelton of Arlington; a sister, Billie Long of Bella Vista, Ark.; and three grandchildren. Dora B. Galbreaith Dora B. Mrs. Galbreaith was born in Burlington, Vt., and had lived in Amarillo for most of her life. She was a member of Jubilee Apostolic Church. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthonys Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Canyon Ruby Hix Hammond Ruby Hix Hammond, 87, of Canyon, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Lefors with the Rev. Lewis Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Hammond was born in Konawa, Okla. She attended Dixie and Mountain Home High School where she received music and vocal awards. In 1932, she graduated from Ringland, Okla., High School. In 1933, Mrs. Hammond moved to Lefors. Until 1952, she worked in the Hammond Grocery business with her husband. They retired to Healdton, Okla. She moved to Canyon in 1988. She married C.A. "Jake" Hammond in 1932 at Ringland. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and by a daughter, JoAnna Faye Hammond. Survivors include two daughters, Beth Auldridge of San Angelo and Kay Alexander of Canyon; two brothers, John Hix of Norman, Okla., and Ralph Hix of Lefors; two sisters, Faye McCurley and Marge Walker, both of Pampa; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. New Mexico Dovie Roberts CLOVIS, N.M - Dovie Roberts, 90, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Harry Harvey officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sedona Cemetery at Sedona, Ariz. Mrs. Roberts was born in Childress, Texas. In Arizona, she and her husband operated a trailer park in Oak Creek Canyon for 28 years and she worked with 4-H groups. She had been a resident of Clovis for 24 years, where she was a volunteer for the Clovis Police substation. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clovis where she also taught Sunday school and was a member of the WMU. She married Paul Roberts in 1939 at Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a brother, Vaudie Pierce of Clovis; and a sister, Rozeltha Clark of Clovis. Dow Harlston officiating. Graveside services will be in the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery. Mrs. Trevino was born in Tyler and attended high school in Amarillo. In 1983, she graduated from Tyler Junior College Vocational Nursing Program and had worked as a licensed vocational nurse. She married Randy Trevino in March. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Amanda Duffey and Christy Frick of Tyler; her parents, Dorothy Wright and Bill and Joann Atkins, all of Tyler; three sisters, Jo Meagher of Amarillo, Patricia Wilshire of Allen and Peggy Clayburn of Brownsboro; and a granddaughter. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel. Virginia T. Hawkins SAN ANTONIO - Virginia T. Hawkins, 79, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Seaside Memorial Chapel of Corpus Christi. Mrs. Hawkins was born in Canadian where she started school. During World War II, she served in the WACS. In 1990, she retired after 37 years with the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi then moved to San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Hawkins. Survivors include a daughter, Jan Hawkins of San Antonio; three sisters, Lucille Stamps of Oklahoma City, Willa Mae Williams of Houston and Juanita Williams of Corpus Christi; and three brothers, J.C. Marguerite Jane Richardson ABILENE - Marguerite Jane Richardson, 73, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999. Memorial services were on Saturday in Memorial Oaks Chapel in Houston with Eugene Dewveall of Hempstead officiating and Monday in Fifth and Grape Church of Christ in Abilene with Don Hatch of the Pittsburgh Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Local arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mrs. Richardson was born in Seymour and graduated from Sunset community school in 1941. In 1943, she graduated from North Texas State University. She completed a dietetic internship in Cleveland, Ohio. She was employed by Baylor Hospital in Dallas as a dietitian. After her marriage, Mrs. Richardson lived in Denton, Midland and Houston before moving to Abilene in 1978. In Abilene, she was in the March of Dimes, the American Heart Association, People Against Child Abuse and she helped the Texas Tech research unit locate relatives of Alzheimer's patients. She had moved to Amarillo two months ago. She married Claude A. Richardson in 1947. He died in 1978. Survivors include a daughter, Priscilla Richardson Hunt of Amarillo; a son, Patrick Timothy Richardson of Dallas; and four grandchildren. Area Marvelee May Ruechel PERRYTON - Marvelee May Ruechel, 64, of Woodland Park, Colo., died Wednesday, July 21, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Perryton. A prior memorial service was held Saturday, July 24, in Nazarene Church in Woodland Park. Cremation and arrangements were by Cappadona Alternative Funeral Services of Colorado Springs, Colo. Mrs. Ruechel was born in Colorado Springs and moved to Perryton in 1949. In 1952, she graduated from Perryton High School and married her first husband, Jim Henry. In 1973, she moved to Spearman and married D.R. "Buster" Hendrickson. After retirement in 1985, they moved to Soldotna, Alaska, where he died. Mrs. Ruechel owned and operated a cosmetic studio, a ceramics and gift shop and a lodge and resort in Sourdough, Alaska. From 1993 until her death, she was employed by Century 21. In 1982, she was named Volunteer Citizen of The Year in Spearmen. She was active in community and volunteer organizations and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Colorado Springs. She married James "Swede" Ruechel in Alaska and moved to Woodland Park in 1993. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Suzanne Gunter. Survivors include two sons, Mike Henry of Woodland Park and Terrell Henry of Amarillo; a daughter, Sherry Randolph of Buffalo, Okla.; two stepsons, Randy Hendrickson and Steve Hendrickson, both of Spearman; a brother, Gary Neppel of Colorado Springs; a sister, Joan Stewart of Colorado Springs; 13 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Cleo Bell Smith CHILDRESS - Cleo Bell Smith, 91, died Thursday, July 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Crosby, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Childress, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in Childress where she was an Avon representative. She married Ted Smith in 1924 at Childress County. He died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Ricks of Childress; a son, Frank Smith of Childress; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. William Edgar Yager CHILDRESS - William Edgar "Bill" Yager, 70, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Kerry Wood, minister of music, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Yager was born in Bowie and graduated from Childress High School in 1946. He received his bachelor's degree from West Texas State University and his master's degree from Tarleton State University. Mr. Yager taught school in Dublin and was an accountant, photographer, poet and writer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hedley and a former member of First Baptist Church of Childress. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Yager, in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Charissa Kelly of Nacogdoches and Cathy Lewis; a son, Eddie Lewis; his parents, William Edgar and Alma Yager of Childress; a sister, Sue Yager of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will receive visitors from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Inez Crump PADUCAH - Lola Inez Crump, 80, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Garden of Memories in Paducah with the Rev. Roy C. Keith, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Miss Crump was born in Paducah where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Paducah High School and Texas Woman's University. She received her master's degree from West Texas State College. Miss Crump began her teaching career in Paducah and taught in Littlefield and Dimmitt before her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Dalton Crump of Friona; four nephews and a niece. The family suggests memorials be to Paducah Cemetery Association or the First Baptist Church in Paducah.
