Mr. Shorter was born in Pampa. He attended Pampa High School. He was preceded in death by a sister, Christina Ann Shorter, in 1976. Timothy Albert Luna PAMPA - Timothy Albert Luna, 18, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at Clarendon. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. John Valdez, pastor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Luna was born in Pampa, where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1998 and was planning to attend Amarillo College this summer. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Guerra of Pampa; a son, Mathew Albert Luna of Pampa; his mother, Janie Luna of Pampa; and two sisters, Tamra Arreola and Emalie Luna, both of Pampa. Joe Louis Davis FLOYDADA - Joe Louis Davis, 62, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Forest Lawn Cemetery with Doug Rainbolt, minister of City Park Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Davis was born in Jefferson. He attended Jefferson schools and moved to Floydada in the 1950s from Big Spring. He was a retired machine driver and had worked for the city of Floydada and Hi Plains Pavers of Plainview. He was a Church of Christ member. He married Carrie Campbell in 1958 at Floydada. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Dora Davis of Floydada; two sons, Joey Davis of Littlefield, and Kevin Davis of Floydada; four daughters, Kathy Davis, LeQuita Davis and Jana Collins, all of Fort Worth, and Karen Davis of Floydada; three brothers, Willie Davis Jr. of Matador, Thomas J. Mr. Cook was born in Groom and moved to the Perryton area 20 years ago. He was an oil field worker. Vona Jean Sears DALHART - Vona Jean Sears, 62, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Christian Church, with the Rev. Ray M. Guy, senior minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Miss Sears was born and raised in Dalhart. She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1955. She had worked for over 40 years at the Citizens State Bank also known as Bank of America. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include a brother, Marvin Sears of Dalhart. Genevieve L. Wilson STRATFORD - Genevieve L. Wilson, 77, died Monday, June 28, 1999. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Stewart, pastor, and the Rev. David White, Baptist minister of Stratford, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors in Dumas. Mrs. Wilson was born in Jones County and had lived in Stratford since 1964. For several years, she was an attendant for Morrison Funeral Directors. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married Ernest Wilson in 1938 at Anson. He died in 1997. Survivors include a son, Oscar Wilson of Stratford; a daughter, Kathleen Steffensen of Lubbock; three sisters, Dollie Lawson of Alvin, Clara Wilson of Springdale, Ark., and Mary Reynolds of Austin; three brothers, Oscar Johnson of Bonham, Howard Johnson of Abilene and Mack Johnson of Bishop; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Immel, 87, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, in Humble. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Love in Westlawn Memorial Park on Borger. Mrs. Immel was born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, and had lived in Borger for more than 70 years. Until the early 1980s, she and her husband owned Doneta's Coin-Operated Laundry. She married James Walter Immel in 1926 at Oklahoma. Preceding her in death were her husband and a daughter, Dora Thompson, both in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Pearl Adams of Fritch and Nora Osborne of Houston; a brother, Elmer Davis of Houston; a sister, Elsie Trostle of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. Gladys Young KRESS - Gladys Young, 85, died Monday, June 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church in Kress with Jack McCall, minister of Kress Church of Christ, and Ralph Beistle, minister of South Plains Church of Christ of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Young was born in Bonham. She was founder and owner of Kress Farm Store and a member of Kress Bridge Club and Kress Senior Citizens. She married Lee Erwin Young in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1983 and a son, Billy Joe Young. Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Ritchey of Dallas and Charlene Little of Plano; two sisters, Ruby Lee Casteel of Kress and Aline Culpepper of Plainview; a brother, H.T. Viewing will be from 7 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Geraldine Walkup Geraldine Walkup, 77, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 24, 1999. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday, in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Norris officiating. Arrangements were by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Walkup was born in Walters, Okla., and attended schools in Sweetwater, Okla. She and her husband moved to Amarillo in 1952. She married DeWitt Walkup in 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980 and by a daughter, Linda DeLores in 1940. Survivors include two sons, Phil Walkup of Arlington and Gary Walkup of Venezuela; four brothers; four sisters; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Crown of Texas Hospice. Santos Esquivel Jr. Santos Esquivel Jr., 51, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., with Faye Roberts, pastor of River Road Fellowship, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Friona Cemetery in Friona. Mr. Esquivel was born in Eagle Pass and raised in Friona. From 1970 until 1972, he served in the Army in Alaska. He did maintenance work and moved to Amarillo in 1977. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Canyon. Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Salazar of Miami and Rachel Keith and Mia Baca, both of Amarillo; two sons, Alex Esquivel of Santa Fe, N.M., and Rocky Esquivel of Amarillo; eight sisters, Maria Soliz Nelson and Debbie Garzia, both of Amarillo, Nina Leal of Dumas, Maria Davis of Borger, Linda Gallegos of Canyon, Diana Esquivel of San Marcos, Shirley Aguirre of Muleshoe and Rosa Bocanegra of Martindale; a brother, Johnny Esquivel of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren. The family will be at 1107 S. Mississippi, Apt. B. Siegfried Bolte Siegfried "Sieg" Bolte, 73, of Umbarger, died Monday, June 28, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia, with the Rev. Terry Burke of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Mr. Bolte was born in Germany and moved to Umbarger in 1953. A farmer, he was a Catholic and served as grand knight in the Knights of Columbus. He married Adelia Friemel in 1955 at Umbarger. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Brockwell of Umbarger; a son, Jimmy Brockwell of Longview; a sister, Otti Kipper of Menden, Germany; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Shirly, 62, of Canyon, died Monday, June 28, 1999. Memorial graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Dreamland Cemetery with Dr. Charles Price, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation arrangements were handled by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. Shirly was born in Springfield, Mass., and moved to Canyon in 1978. He was employed by Wal-Mart in Amarillo and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Survivors include his mother, Viola Michaels of Wilbraham, Mass.; two daughters, Jennifer Reynolds of Amarillo and Suzanne Shirly of Borger; and two brothers, Herman Shirly of Amarillo and Donald Shirly of Wilbraham, Mass. New Mexico Louis Acridge CLOVIS, N.M. - Louis Acridge, 80, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999. No services are planned. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, N.M. Mr. Acridge was born in Wichita, Kan., and had lived in Belen. He had served as deputy sheriff in Valencia County. In 1995, he moved to Clovis from Belen. He married Mary McElhinny in 1968 at Golden, Colo. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Acridge Broyles of Clovis; a brother, Charles W. Acridge of Oakland, Calif.; a sister, Joann D. Plews of Santa Barbara, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Herman Sisneros CLOVIS, N.M. - Herman Sisneros, 91, died Monday, June 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in The Chapel, 1500 N. Thornton, with the Rev. Randy Gomez officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Sisneros was born in Montoya. He had been a maintenance worker at the Busy Bee Cafe and was a Christian. Survivors include a son, Raymond Sisneros of Borger, Texas; two daughters, Marie Gomez of Clovis and Grace Bartlett of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother; six sisters; 13 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. Pauline Hester Kirby Greathouse CLOVIS, N.M. - Pauline Hester Kirby Greathouse, 82, of Ashland, Kan., died Sunday, June 27, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Trinity United Methodist Church in Clovis with Dr. Mark Scott officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Greathouse was born in Pleasant Hill and lived in Lubbock, Texas before returning to Pleasant Hill where she graduated from high school. After her marriage, she continued to live in Pleasant Hill until moving to Clovis in 1951. Mrs. Greathouse helped her husband with his custom harvest business. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women. She married Spencer Steele Greathouse in 1937 at Clovis. He died in 1984. Survivors include a son, Spencer Dwayne Greathouse of Hereford, Texas; five daughters, Floretta Rogers of Ashland, Karen Gooden of Fletcher, Okla., Sandra Crowley and Paula Goins, both of Griffing, Ga., and Sheryl Abdill of Clovis; a brother, J.D. Kirby of Fruita, Colo.; a sister, Gladys Kirby of Texico; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Waymon L. Harris MACEDON, N.Y. - Waymon L. Harris, 59, died Friday, June 25, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Gray Community Church at Gray, Okla., with the Rev. Elwyn Rogers and Evelyn Stone officiating. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton, Texas. Mr. Harris was born in Beaver County, Okla., and attended school in Perryton and Balko, Okla., graduating in 1958. He attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1962 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He had been a commercial pilot for more than 15 years and was a computer salesman. He moved to the New York area 10 years ago from Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include a son, Jeff Harris of Moore, Okla.; a daughter, Jana Rogers of Kansas City, Mo.; his father, Cody Harris of Gray; a brother, Jay Harris of Amarillo; a sister, Gayla Thompson of Amarillo; stepchildren; special friend, Bobbie MacDonald of New York; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or the Gideons. Charles Schaffer TERRA BELLA, Calif. - Charles Schaffer, 68, died Thursday, June 17, 1999. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Myers Chapel with the Rev. Larry Cluff of the First United Methodist Church of Porterville officiating. Arrangements were by Myers Funeral Service of Porterville. Mr. Schaffer was born in Gray County, Texas and was a veteran of the Navy. He was a former member of the Terra Bella REACT and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Porterville. In 1995, he retired from Caltrans. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Schaffer; a son, Tom Schaffer of Silverton, Colo.; three daughters, Judy Early and Kerry Ladrigan, both of Porterville, and Nancy Trupe of Bakersfield; two brothers, Sam Schaffer of Wellington, Texas and John Schaffer of Wheeler, Texas; two sisters, Doris Boody of Wheeler and Barbara Clark of Shamrock, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
