Uselton McLEAN - R.B. Uselton, 84, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at Shamrock. At his request, no services were held. Arrangements were by Lamb Funeral Home. Mr. Uselton was born in Nocona. He lived in Shamrock for 42 years, where he worked at Shamrock Lumber Co. as assistant manager and bookkeeper. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Shamrock. He married Eunice Lucille in 1947 at Wellington. She died in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Rhoda Brandon of Shamrock; and a granddaughter. The family requests memorials be to Tiptons Children's Home at Tipton, Okla. Carolyn Sue Stanford PERRYTON - Carolyn Sue Stanford, 49, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Vernon Appel officiating. Burial will be Friday in the Cramp Cemetery at Porum, Okla. Mrs. Stanford was born in Porum and had lived in the Perryton area most of her life. She was a chef and a homemaker. She was a member of Assembly of God Church of Perryton. She married Lynn Stanford in 1995 at Perryton. Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Jodie Lossie and Tony Lossie, both of Perryton; and her mother, Mildred Westenhaver of Dumas. Gloria Levene Pitman PAMPA - Gloria Levene Pitman, 60, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Fox, pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, officiating. Additional services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Mausoleum Independence Chapel in Fort Worth with the Rev. Bill Childs, pastor of River Oaks Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Worth. Mrs. Pitman was born in Clemscott, Okla. She was a homemaker and worked for Lowe's Pay N Save in Littlefield for many years. In 1979, she moved to Pampa where she was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. She married Robert E. Pitman in 1975 at Littlefield. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Becky Mooney and Lisa Stone, both of Anton; two sons, Rodney Pitman of Escondido, Calif., and Shawn Pitman of Lewisville; her mother, Mattie Ruth Barker of Fort Worth; a brother, James Barker of Memphis, Tenn; four granddaughters; and a great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Encarnacion Ortiz Rios HEREFORD - Encarnacion Ortiz Rios, 89, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Domingo Castillo officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mr. Rios was born in Laredo and was a longtime Hereford resident. He was a retired laborer. He married Margarita Rodriguez. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Joe Rios of Johnson, Kan., Ruben Rios, Tony Rios and Ricardo Rios, all of Hereford, and Jessie Rios of Anchorage, Alaska; five daughters, Cathy Bastardo and Paula Rodriguez, both of Brownwood, Maria Chavez of Austin and Josephine Hernandez and Tibursia Moreno, both of Hereford; a brother, Juan Rios of Toledo, Ohio; 42 grandchildren; and 35 greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Gilbert McVey Gilbert "Gib" McVey, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Dr. Howard Batson of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. McVey was born in Stafford, Kan., and moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Pampa. He was an electrician and a member of IBEW Union for 35 plus years. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday school for many years. He married Martha Jane McVey in 1936 at Stafford. She died in 1996. Survivors include four sons, Dale McVey of Amarillo, Daryl McVey of Shawnee, Okla., Jerry McVey of Donovan, Ill., and Douglas McVey of Fort Smith, Ark.; a brother, Vernie McVey of Wisconsin; 14 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to American Heart Association. Betty June Clay Betty June Clay, 61, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Muriel Fields officiating. Mrs. Clay was born in Altus, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for more than 41 years. She was a certified chiropractic assistant and a member of Trinity Fellowship Church. She married Don Clay in 1958 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by a son, Ted Clay, in 1985. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Mike Clay of San Angelo, and Coye Clay, Russell Clay and Chris Clay, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Vonne Clay and Judy Neese, both of Richmond, Va.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Esther G. Connolly Esther Connolly, 84, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 29, 1999. She was a teacher and a member of First Baptist Church, Heritage Club and National Retired Teachers Association. For several years, she served at the First Baptist Church Buchanan Street Community Service Center. She married Milton Bruce Connolly in 1935 at Erath County. He died in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Atchley of Amarillo and Mary Connolly of Bedford; two brothers, Lloyd Grissom of Anson and Harold Grissom of Abilene; a sister, Laverne Hicks of Irving; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Missions. Thomas Charles Isham Thomas Charles "T.C." Isham, 87, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park East Mausoleum with the Rev. Quin Oakley of Valle De Oro Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mr. Isham was born in Whitesboro and moved to West Texas in 1926. He attended Clarendon Junior College. In 1941, he moved to Amarillo where he was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. He retired as a beverage distributor for Royal Crown, New-Grape and Canada Dry Bottling Companies. He married Gladys Salmon in 1940 at Clarendon. She died in November. Survivors include two sisters, Oneta Hartzog of Lucille, Idaho, and Ruth Killough of Amarillo; three brothers, Lowell M. Isham of Shawnee, Okla., Ray K. Isham of Ocoee, Fla., and David L. Isham of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Boys Ranch/Girls Town or to a favorite charity. Oklahoma Arthur W. Sanders ERICK, Okla. - Arthur W. "Peck" Sanders, 86, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Erick Assembly of God Church with Ray Smart officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mr. Sanders was born in Helena, Mont., and moved to Oklahoma when he was 7 years old. He was raised north of Erick. He worked in the Carbon Black plants in Shamrock, Texas, Louisiana and Kansas. After his marriage, Mr. Sanders moved to Satanta, Kan., where he was employed by the Department of Transportation. After his retirement at 65, he was employed by Satanta High School. He and his wife moved to Erick in September. He married Edith Coffey Conway in 1954 at Canadian. He was preceded in death by a son, John Arthur Sanders, and a stepdaughter, Joann Nelson. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darla Jean Lowrance of Lampasas, Texas; a son, Gail Wayne Sanders of Pampa, Texas; four stepchildren; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mildred C. Lehnert GUYMON, Okla. - Mildred C. Lehnert, 80, died Monday, March 29, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First Church of God with the Rev. Jim Smith and Stan Lehnert officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Lehnert was born in Gordon, Neb. In 1963, she moved to Guymon from Turpin. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of God and WCG. She married John F. Lehnert in 1938 at Gordon. He died in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Stan Lehnert of Turpin and Leland Lehnert of Rolla, Kan.; two sisters, Elizabeth Lahaye of Gordon and Gladys Ratzlaff of Plainview, Neb.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Shaw VIOLA, Ill. - Jesse F. Shaw, 59, died Sunday, March 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in United Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Au Sable Grove Cemetery in Yorkville, Ill., by Family Funeral Services of Viola. Mr. Shaw was born in Grider, Ky., and graduated from Villa Grove High School. In the late 1950s, he was in the Army Reserve. For 35 years, he was an insurance broker for Shaw Insurance. Mr. Shaw was a former member and charter president of Viola Lions Club, former member and past president of the chamber of commerce, elder and trustee of United Presbyterian Church and past deacon at South Park Presbyterian Church. He was a YMCA basketball coach, New Windsor drill team booster, district youth adviser and former member of Precious Memories Gospel Quartet. He married Marjorie "Sam" Schlapp in 1962 at Detroit. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brooke Wiewel of Rolling Meadows; a son, Mark Shaw of Canyon, Texas; four sisters, Mary Good and Sally Davis, both of Arcola, Alma Albritton of Tuscola and Carolyn Sue Allen of Hammond, La.; three brothers, Phillip Shaw of Valdosta, Ga., Bill Shaw of Griffin, Ga., and Don Shaw of Iowa; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to United Presbyterian Church.
