Trujillo CANADIAN - Rafael G. Trujillo, 83, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy A. Robinson, pastor of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, officiating. Arrangements are by StickleyHill Funeral Directors. Mr. Trujillo was born in Buena Vista. He moved to Canadian from Roswell, N.M. in 1997. He married Julia Villalpando in 1935 at Carlsbad, N.M. He was preceded in death by two sons, Eloisin Trujillo in 1982 and David Trujillo in 1999. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Elias Trujillo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Rev. Enrique Trujillo, Albert Trujillo and Rodolfo Trujillo, all of Roswell; and Daniel Trujillo of El Paso; four daughters, Elena Ornelas and Cecilia Tavarez, both of Roswell; Yolanda Chavez of Jackson, Miss.; and Elizabeth Lankford of Canadian; a sister Elfida Rojas of Carlsbad; 35 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Toney was born in Caney, Okla., and moved to Borger in 1942 from Atoka, Okla. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener, being a past winner of the Beautiful Yard Award. She married William Omar Toney in 1933 at Strington, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997 and by a daughter, June Lummus, in 1962. Survivors include two sons, W.L.Toney and James Toney, both of Borger; two daughters, Pat Sue Vaughn of Sherman and Jane Price of New Braunfels; two brothers, Roy Spriggs of Summers, Ark., and J.R. Spriggs of Pasadena; two sisters, Pearl Clark of Bristow, Okla., and Daisy Wells of Topeka, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mendoza was born in Corn City. She moved to Friona from Morton in 1972. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and a homemaker. She married Daniel Mendoza Sr. at Corn City. Mrs. Mendoza was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; and four sons, Don Mendoza in 1972, Jesse Mendoza in 1974, Cesario Mendoza in 1981 and John Mendoza in 1994. Mr. Ehly was born in Dimmitt and raised in Nazareth, where he graduated from high school in 1978. He worked for Holmes Construction of Amarillo. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth. She married Robert Ploog in 1957 in Fort Worth. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Susan Sledge of Amarillo; a son, Robert "Bobby" Ploog of Amarillo; two sisters, Mabel Hendricks and Larue Smith both of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren. Lee Palmer, 73, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 31, 2000. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Citizens Cemetery at Clarendon with Dr. Murray Gossett, assistant pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Palmer was born at McClellan Creek near Alanreed in Donley County. He was a resident of Goodnight from 1962 until moving to Amarillo in 1988. He was a high school and college coach, and a rancher for several years before he retired. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a director and past president of the Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association and the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. He was a member of Claude Masonic Lodge and an elder and long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Clarendon. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. He married Betty Pauline Tolleson in 1974 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by first wife, Ann Pinkney Palmer, in 1973. Survivors include his wife, Betty; two daughters, Lee Ann Beverly of Garland and Diane Tolleson of Crofton, British Columbia, Canada; two sons, Ward Palmer of Amarillo and Craig Tolleson of Hallsville; and 6 grandchildren. Dale Mooreland, associate pastor at San Jacinto Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Bush was born in Coal County, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo before moving to Arizona. She returned to Amarillo in 1981. She worked in retail clothing sales. She was a member of Baptist St. Anthony Auxiliary, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Order of Eastern Star Bonita Chapter. Mrs. Bush was a volunteer food server at Northwest Village and a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She married Virgil Bush in 1929 at Waxahachie. He died in 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Guill of Amarillo; a son, James Virgil Bush Jr. of Valleyview; two brothers, A.C. Spears and O.C. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Pinky Long of Baha'i World Faith officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Gage was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1967 and attended Amarillo College. She was a chief technician for Crown of Texas Kidney Center. In 1985 Mrs. Gage was awarded Outstanding Citizen from Amarillo Police Department. She was a member of Baha'i World Faith Church. She married Clayton Gage in 1967 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; one son, Richard Young of Seattle; a daughter, Mandy Byers of Bucyrus, Kan.; her parents, Betty Johnson of Amarillo and James Parish of McCrory, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Steele, 63, of Canyon, died Friday, March 24, 2000. No services are planned. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Steele was born in Norris, Tenn. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1958 at Purdue University. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi. He was a longtime researcher, manager and supervisor in the space program and had been involved with hundreds of space missions. He had worked for AVCO Research and Development in Wilmington, Mass.; Lockheed Missiles and Space Division in Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. He worked in the Viking and Voyager programs for Martin Marietta in Denver; the Apollo flight Crew in Houston; the Skylab program; the Apollo-Soyuze program; and the European Space Lab Project in Bremen, Germany. He retired from TRW in Redondo Beach, Calif., in 1995. He moved to the Amarillo area in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie K. Steele of Canyon; a son, Jon D. Steele of Lewisville; a brother, R. David Steele of Littleton, Colo.; and a sister, Jean Fulwider of Ottawa, Ill. Amarillo Daily News, April 1, 2000 Oklahoma John Shirley GUYMON, Okla. - John Clarence Shirley, 24, formerly of Guymon, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, in Goodwell. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Nazarene Church with the Rev. Terry Armstrong officiating. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Shirley was born in Guymon. He attended school in Guymon and graduated from high school in 1995. He was a cowboy and worked for CRI Feeders. He lived in Goodwell. He married Jayme Lynn Peterson in 1997 at Stratford, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carly Shirley and Jaylyn Shirley; his parents, J.B. and Darlene Ketcherside of Guymon; a sister, Melissa Bales of Guymon; three brothers, Jimmy Shirley and Brian Ketcherside, both of Guymon, and Jason Ketcherside of McLean, Texas; and grandparents, Earl and Amy Brewer of Guymon and John W.
