Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Herb Tavenner officiating. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mrs. Hill was born in Decatur and raised in Spur. From 1943 until 1961, she lived in Munday where she worked as a dental assistant. She moved to Lubbock in 1961 and was in retail sales. Mrs. Hill was a dorm mother for the Methodist School of Nursing. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Mac Hill, in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Ponder of Lubbock; two brothers, Robert McGaughy and Aubrey McGaughy, both of Amarillo; a sister, Dott Dane of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Stewart II, 59, formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kan. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dallas. Arrangements are by Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Mr. Stewart was recently honored with a special award by the International Society of Interferon and Cytokine Research for his work in interferon research. From 1979 until 1981 he served on the scientific advisory board of the Don and Sybil B. Harrington Cancer Center-Panhandle Area Cancer Council. Mr. Stewart was a retired research scientist who was associated with research institutes and universities in Wilmington, Del., Louvain, Belgium and Paris, France. He was director of interferon research for Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research in New York and professor of medical microbiology and immunology at the University of South Florida. Professional recognitions Mr. Stewart received included president of the International Society for Interferon Research, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Interferon Research and chair of the first three annual International Congresses for Interferon Research. Survivors include four children, Elaine Stewart Williams and Vivian Laurette Stewart, both of Flower Mound; William E. Mr. Roberson was born in Summerfield and was a longtime resident of Hereford. He was a farmer and merchant. He served as treasurer of First Baptist Church for more than 30 years. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Richard Bales, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Canyon, officiating. Burial was in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Odom was born in Marshall, Mo., and had been a Canyon and Amarillo resident for many years. She was retired from the drugstore business and was a Methodist. She married A.B. Odom in 1936 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1984. Survivors include three nephews, Gene Newkirk of Dallas, Bob Moore of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Larry Sebastian of Tulsa; and four nieces, Linda Sebastian of Tulsa, Mignon Moore of Aikin, S.C., Pam Moore of White Deer and Rene Ogle of Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Church of Christ in Hooker with Neville Buchanan and John Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Gordon was born in Hooker, where she attended schools. She married Dradon Gordon in 1941 at Liberal, Kan. For seven years they lived in Perryton, Texas, but spent most of their lives in Hooker. Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Church of Christ in Hooker. She was preceded in death by a son, O'Donald, and two infant daughters. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jimmy Gordon of Canute; a daughter, Veda Raff of Hooker; a brother, Lloyd Acker of Olathe, Kan.; a sister, Rosie Raff of Hooker; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. West was born in Elk City and attended schools in Liberty. She lived in the Bulo Community before moving to Sayre in 1928. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She married Ben Thomas in 1927 at Cheyenne, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Lonnie Eber. Survivors include five daughters, Berta Hillman of White Deer, Texas, Paula Aston of Sayre, Donna Firquain of Ardmore, Sondra Stephens of Amarillo and Brenda McKibben of Sayre; four sons, Ben West and Jerry West, both of Sayre, and Loren West and George West both of Amarillo; a sister, Edith Young of Del City; 18 grandchildren; 35 greatgrandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Texico with the Rev. Orvil Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Texico Cemetery in Texico by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Ms. Wall was born in Clovis and graduated from high school in Texico. She graduated from Hendrick Hospital School of Nursing in 1965 and Hardin-Simmons University in 1966. Since 1965, Ms. Wall was a registered nurse in the surgery department of Hendrick Medical Center. She was a member of the University Baptist Church in Abilene. Survivors include her mother, Marie Wall of Texico; a sister, Marquitta Hudson of Clovis; and special friend Karen Nolen of Abilene.
