Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Morton with the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Dewbre was born in Fannin County and moved to Morton from Ralls in 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Rilley Z. "Sonny" Dewbre in 1934 at Ralls. He died in 1987. She also was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Wayne Dewbre. Survivors include three sons, James Dewbre and Edward Dewbre, both of Morton and Donnie Dewbre of Levelland; a daughter, Doris Simpson of New Home; a brother, Leslie Reese of Palo Pinto; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 1, 2000 Wilburn E. Dorris PANHANDLE - Wilburn E. Dorris, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Mr. Dorris was born in Breckenridge and was a longtime resident of Panhandle. During World War II, he was a master sergeant in the Army with the 343rd Infantry Black Hawk division in Germany and the Philippines. He also served in the Korean War. Mr. Dorris was a lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol in Borger and sang with the Four Sixes Gospel Quartet. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Carson Masonic Lodge. In 1983, he retired after 36 years as a supervisor with Phillips Petroleum. He married Katie Arp in 1944 at Alexandria, La. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gaylynn Dorris Russ and Susan Dorris Russ, both of Panhandle; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. "K.W." King, 81, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Darrell Trout officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Garden in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mr. King was born in Durant, Okla., and had lived in the Borger-Fritch area since 1951. During World War II, he served in the Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater for 13 months. Mr. King retired as a field operator for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 351. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Reda King, in October. Survivors include two daughters, Reda Gibbs of Fritch and Shirley Connell of Tulsa; a sister, Charlene Lunn of Beatty, Ore.; five grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Stevens, retired Assembly of God minister of Dumas, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Hammontree was born in Quinton, Okla., and had been a Dumas resident since 1951. He retired from American Zinc and had also worked for North Plains Research for 10 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Marie Barker in 1939 at Wilburton, Okla. She graduated from Plainview High School and West Texas State University. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Plainview Country Club Duplicate Bridge, serving as a former president and was a life master in duplicate bridge. She married Jack Stone Williams in 1951 at Plainview. She was a homemaker. She had been a member of the Booker Friend Church, a member of the Women's Missionary Union and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was an auxiliary volunteer at Twin Oaks. She married Wayne "Buck" Howard in 1941 at Booker. He died in 1989. She also was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Dale Field in 1952. He was the owner/operator of John's Auto Repair Service. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific. Mrs. Shewmake was born in Abilene and moved to Amarillo in 1939 where she lived until moving to White Settlement in June. She had been a drafter for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. Mrs. Shewmake was a member of First Christian Church and the Fellowship Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Steven Stone in 1990 and her husband in 1992. Fred Caton officiating. Burial will be in Plains Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. White was born in Tucumcari and moved to Clovis in 1979 from Lubbock, Texas. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 24 years as a district electrical engineer for the New Mexico division. From 1988 until 1998, he served on the Planning and Zoning board for the City of Clovis. Mr. White was a member of Sandia Baptist Church and the Desert Cruzers Car Club. He married Donna Sue Hobstadt in 1968 at Tucumcari. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Denita Denton and Denise Johnson, both of Clovis; his mother, Marjorie A. White of Tucumcari; a brother, Bruce White of Las Cruces; a sister, Barbara J. Dow of Tucumcari; and three grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery with Louis Montoya officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mrs. Vandervoort was born in Clayton where she was a lifetime resident. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1939. She married Charles E. Vandervoort in 1935 at Clayton. They built and operated the original Hi Ho in Clayton in 1957 and sold it in 1960. They then built and operated Grand Motors, a garage, wrecker service, junkyard and body shop from 1961 to 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997. She also was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Vandervoort Jr., in 1937. Survivors include a daughter, Nana Lou Pense of Clayton; a sister, Dorine Louisa Johnson; a granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. He married Virginia Walker in 1958 at Canyon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Britt Eoff, in 1983. She moved to Mustang in 1992 and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
