Mrs. Fowler was born in Childress and moved to Amarillo in 1944. She worked as a dietitian's aide at Family Hospital and Bivins Nursing Home, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Northside Full Gospel Church. She married Dolphus "Doc" Fowler in 1952 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Ray Fowler, in 1998. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rhonda Ann Hervey of Amarillo; two sons, Donnie Lee Fowler and Tommy Lynn Fowler of Amarillo; five sisters, Bernice Rushing of Iowa Park, Alene Bass of Locust Grove, Okla., and Mary Lou Charles, Irene Johnson and Oleta Boroughs, all of Amarillo; six brothers, Buford Hall of Wills Point, Woody Hall of Idalou, Finis Hall, Ray Hall and Jim Hall, all of Amarillo, and John Hall of Santa Fe, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Paul Bates, of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Michael was born in Amarillo and had lived here all his life. He was a student at Mesa Verde Elementary School and was a Baptist. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Oct. 1, 2000 Gordon S. Whipple Gordon S. Whipple, 63, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Whipple was born in Alva, Okla. After graduating from Waynoka High School in 1954, he served in the Army engineering division. In 1957, he moved to Amarillo and worked for Santa Fe Railway until his retirement in 1990. From 1991 until 1998, he and his family owned and operated the Creekwood Ranch Old West Show and Chuckwagon Supper. He was a farmer and rancher in Randall County and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He married Carol Owen Jokerst in 1980 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Whipple of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Laura Shattuck of Amarillo and Kati Bramblett of Grenville, N.M.; two brothers, Dennis Whipple of Waynoka, Okla., and Darrel Whipple of Edmond, Okla.; a sister, Connie Davis of Orange; and four grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. She married Mark Lamkin in 1948 at Childress. She married William Thomason in 1926. He died in 1964. Survivors include a daughter, Audrey Fenwick of Amarillo; a sister, Alice Worrell of Ohio; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church by the Rev. Sotero Sena. Burial was in Mission Garden of Memories by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Lopez was born and raised in Clovis. She moved to Arizona three years ago. After attending Amarillo College Technical School in Amarillo, Texas, he worked for Allied Mill Wright in Hereford, Texas. His son, Lawrence Caleb Fluhman, died in 1989. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Highland Oaks Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Family Funeral Care of Mesquite. Mrs. Marshall was born in Great Falls, Mont. She graduated from L.D. Bell High School of Hurst in 1974 and attended Texas Tech. In 1981, she earned a bachelor's degree in English. She moved from Lubbock in 1984 to Spring, where she taught English, French and English as a second language. She also did post graduate work at Sam Houston State University of Huntsville and was twice named Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Marshall attended Bammel Road Church of Christ while living in Houston and was a member of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ while in Dallas. She married Tony Marshall in 1976. Survivors include her husband; a son, Shad; a daughter, Adrienne; her parents, Jack and Jeannine Green; and a sister, Louise Daniels. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Oct. 1, 2000 Forrest Waller SEARCY, Ark. - Forrest Waller, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Waller was born in Judsonia. After teaching in White County and working in the offices of Circuit and County Clerk, he served as County Judge. He then worked for the U.S. Department of the Treasury and was Director of U.S. Savings Bonds of Arkansas. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Tubbs of Harrisburg and Gypsy Herrington of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Muleshoe Memorial Park at Muleshoe with the Curtis Shelburne, of Muleshoe, officiating. Arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mrs. Calvert was born in Arkansas. She had lived in Muleshoe since 1968 and moved to Farwell eight years ago. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married Delmer Leon Calvert in 1924 at Matador. He died in 1990. She also was preceded in death by a son, Johnie Calvert, in 1997. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Neva Calvert of Muleshoe; a sister, Mildred Rubish of Lancaster, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Colquitt Nash, minister of Ninth and Columbia Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mr. Perkins was born in Plainview. After graduating from Plainview High School, he attended Abilene Christian College. A broadcaster for KVOP Radio, he worked with Tut Tawwater as the voice of the Plainview Bulldogs. He retired in 1979 and moved to Austin in 1990. He was past president of Plainview Booster Club and a member of Kiwanis Club of Plainview. Survivors include a daughter, Shelley Seeley of Dripping Springs; a son, Bill Perkins of Franklin, La.; a brother, Darrell Perkins of Lubbock; two sisters, Peggy Breland of Paris and Betty Raymer of Plainview; and three grandchildren. Osage St. Mr. McHargue was born in Mound. After serving with the Navy during World War II, he moved to Amarillo in 1947. Before his retirement in 1981, he worked as a municipal bus driver in Amarillo, Denver and Dallas. He worked part-time for Trailways Charters and Tours. He moved to Wildorado in 1996. He married VonDell Routson in 1948 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Walters of Bovina; a son, Lonnie Ray Camp of Hereford; three sisters, Jimmie Pearson of Cleburne, Bernice Ferguson of Keechi and Ruth McHargue of Dallas; a brother, Joe Thomas McHargue of Alice; 10 grandchildren; and 22 greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Oct. 1, 2000 Coyle Charles Ford PAMPA - Coyle Charles Ford, 90, died Friday, Sept. 29. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Ford was born in Minneola, Ark. Working for Western Union, he strung telegraph lines from Boise City, Okla., to Dumas. After attending auto body repair school in Oklahoma, he returned to Arkansas. In 1946, he moved to Pampa, where he worked for Culberson Chevrolet and later owned and operated Ford's Body Shop. A farmer and rancher, he was president of the Salvation Army, a member of the Rotary Club, Pampa City Council, and the Pampa Masonic Lodge. In 1989, he was awarded the Seven Who Care Award for community service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Gerald J. Ford of Dallas; a daughter, Carolyn Ford Taylor of Taos, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. After attending schools in Quitaque, and graduating from high school in Plainview in 1955, she graduated from Lipperts Business School in 1957. She worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1969. She moved to Lockney from Dallas in 1997. She was a member of East Field Baptist Church in Mesquite. She married Jim Cumby in 1962 at Mesquite. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jimmy Cumby of Columbia, S.C.; a daughter, Christy Frizzell of Lockney; two brothers, J.C. Mrs. Bohlar was born in Wheeler County and attended school in Shamrock. In 1954, she moved to McLean, where she worked at Taylor's Convenience Store and McLean Home Health. She retired in 1996. She was a member of First Baptist Church in McLean. She married Chester Bohlar in 1952 at Canadian. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Toni Bohlar of McLean, Becky Sheppard of Hobbs, N.M., and Connie McKinney of Clarendon; a son, Chet Bohlar of McLean; her mother, Velma Dennis of Pampa; a sister, Jimmie Koch of Pampa; a brother, James Cannon of California; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
