Officiants will be her son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Ted Wilson and Jody Boudreaux Wilson of First United Methodist Church in Petersburg; and the Rev. Jeff McCreght of New Life Church of Christ in Lubbock officiating. Mrs. Wilson was born in Avalon. She moved to Plainview in 1953 from Petersburg. She served as the board secretary for the Salvation Army and worked with the Well Baby Clinic. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Wesley Bible class, Birthday Bridge Club, Order of the Eastern Star, the Junior Service League and the Ladies' Golf Association. She also assisted with the Lions Club Queen contest. She married Robert Elton Wilson in 1946 at Lubbock. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jane Armstrong of Lubbock and Sue Brightbill of Cotton Center; two sons, Ted Wilson of Petersburg and Paul Wilson of Dallas; a brother, Billy Bob Whorton of Oxford, Miss.; a sister, Geneva Leach of Stephenville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. CHILDRESS - Alice Kelso Harper, 94, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Harper was born in Bokchito, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clarence E. Kelso in 1979 and Glen Harper in 1994; and by two daughters, Pauline Mills and Thelma Wright. Survivors include three sons, Harlen Kelso of Childress, C.E. Kelso of Petrolia and Larry Kelso of Panhandle; seven daughters, Gwen Court and Ann Thorn, both of Childress, Mary Frances Tullos of Stephenville, Barbara Thorn of Gilmer, Johnnie Borton and Trudy Hite, both of Wichita Falls, and Linda Bates of Petrolia; a stepdaughter; 37 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 54 great-great-grandchildren. PAMPA - Dr. Victor Lee Trammell, 63, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Dr. Randy White, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Additional services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church at Rule with the Rev. Scott Hensley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Rule Cemetery by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home in Rule. Dr. Trammell was born in Haskell County. He worked for Standard Oil from 1957 to 1960. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and Texas Western University at El Paso. He graduated in 1965 from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he was a member of the Phi Chi Fraternity. He served his residency at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, specializing in pathology. He lived in Pampa from 1972 to 1976 and was chief of staff and a pathologist at Highland General Hospital in Pampa. He then moved to Arlington to work for HCA Arlington Community Hospital, where he also served as chief of staff. He retired from pathology in 1991 and returned to Pampa in 1996. Dr. Trammell was a member of the American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Texas Society of Pathology. Survivors include three daughter, Vicki Trammell of Pampa, LeAnn Trammell Tivis of Decatur and Jennifer Trammell of Berkeley, Calif.; two brothers, Kent Dunnam of Troy, Idaho, and Kenny Young of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. PAMPA - Robbie Jo Summers, 77, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in Amarillo. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Summers was born in Turkey and had lived in Pampa since 1951. She retired from the Pampa Independent School District. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Turkey. She married Marion D. Summers in 1941 at Turkey. He died in 1978. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Morris, in 1989. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Sparkman was born in Comanche, Okla. She moved to Deaf Smith County in 1927 from Wellington. She was a homemaker and a member of the Frio Baptist Church. She married T. L. Sparkman in 1936 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tommy Sparkman of Hereford; two daughters, Bonnie Baldwin of Durst and Darlene Richardson of Hereford; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. King was born in Haskell. She was a longtime resident of Seminole before moving to Pampa in 1992. She worked as a deputy in the Gaines County Sheriff's Office and then as detective and a field training officer for the Pampa Police Department. She retired in 1999. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. She married George Sherling in 1967. He died in 1985. Survivors include her daughter, Chandra Nix of Pampa; a son, Kevin Sherling of Fredericksburg; her mother, Maurine King of Seminole; two sisters, Melva King of Seminole and Rhonda King of Lubbock; and a brother, Owen King Jr. of Seminole. Mrs. Martinez was born in Rotan. She moved to Dimmitt from Brownfield in 1965. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She married Jose B. Martinez in 1939 at Sinton. He died in 1995. STRATFORD - Dovie Steffens, 97, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, in Spearman. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Dean Williamson, of First Assembly of God, and the Rev. Jerry Stewart, of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Steffens was born in Okeemah, Indian Territory. She had lived in Stratford since 1958. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God. She married Edwin Albert "Bert" Steffens in 1928 at Amarillo. He died in 1986. Survivors include a daughter, Lorene Wright of Stratford; two sisters, Lorene Tollison of Hot Springs, Ark., and Lois Tolleson of Pampa; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. CLARENDON - Annie Clara Edwards, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Robertson Funeral Directors Inc., Chapel of Memories with the Rev. James Martindale, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mrs. Edwards was born in Tooele, Utah. She had lived in Howardwick since 1981 and moved to Amarillo in 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Howardwick and president of the Women's Missionary Union. She married the Rev. Joseph O.C. Edwards in 1930 at Amarillo. He died in May. She also was preceded in death by a son, Billy Bob Edwards, in 1948. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann Edwards of Howardwick and Evelyn O'Donna Melancon of Houma, La.; a son, Lanny Edwards of Clarendon; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. PADUCAH - Don Russell Scott Jr., 34, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in Lubbock. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Parkview Baptist Church in Childress with Don McFarland, of the church, officiating. Cremation by Resthaven Crematory. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Scott was born in Odessa. He attended school in Childress and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1985. He attended West Texas State University. In 1987 he moved to Florida where he owned and operated a catering service in Key West, Fla. He returned to Texas in January. Survivors include two sisters, Suzette Michelle Bain of Amarillo and Lisa Koonce of Odessa; his mother, Joy Pettiet of Grow; his stepfather, Randy Pettiet of Grow; and his grandparents, Rudene Gounole and Nellie Martin, both of Childress. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Paducah Garden of Memories with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor of the Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Truelock was born in Wills Point. He moved to Paducah in 1933. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah. He married Irene Smith in 1933 at Wills Point. She died in 1978. He married Ida Rodgers in 1979 at Memphis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Travis Truelock of Dumas; three daughters, Donna Hall of Paducah, Shirley Ann Mowery of Granbury and Billie Sue Sanders of Hemphill; two brothers, Hubert Truelock of Paducah and Grady Truelock of Dumas; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ortez Stone Owen Rogers, 88, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Washington Avenue Christian Church with Jim Shelburne, minister, officiating. She was a cashier at Blackburn Brothers' Clothiers, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Herschel "Buck" Owen and Edgar L. Rogers. Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Beth Phillips, Ginger Land and Nancy McKee, all of Amarillo; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Rick Fritz in 1996. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Fritz of Amarillo and Brent Crownover of San Antonio; a daughter, Jan Snure of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She moved to Ruidoso in 1957. She was a member of the Republican Women, Elks Lodge Does and First Christian Church. She operated Saddle Horn Cabins and wrote the Ol' Dum Dum Tip Sheet. She married Sherman Atwood in 1947 at Amarillo. He died in 1985. Survivors include her twin son and daughter, Michael Atwood of Alto and Jo Michelle Smith of Lovington; a sister, Donna Rae Taube of Bailey, Colo.; and four grandchildren. BEAVER, Okla. - Mable Claire Goodner, 89, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in Pampa. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Beaver United Methodist Church with John Breon officiating. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Home. She was born in Bishop Community, Ellis County. She graduated from high school and went to nursing college. She had lived in Beaver since 1947. She was a nurse and also operated Goodner Funeral Home with her husband. She married Clifford Goodner in 1947 at Liberal, Kan. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her two sisters, Iva Henderson of Beaver and Pauline Holland of Amarillo. EVANS, Colo. - Marta L. Rodriguez, 74, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000. Mrs. Rodriguez was born in New Braunfels, Texas. She was a former resident of Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Rodriguez. Lubbock - Dr. Pat Brecheen, 68, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fairmont Cemetery at Hollis, Okla., with his brother, Carl Brecheen, minister of the Church of Christ of Abilene, officiating. Arrangements are by White Funeral Home of Lubbock. Dr. Brecheen was born in Hollis, Okla. He graduated from Hollis High School, Abilene Christian College and Baylor Dental School. He operated his own dental office in Snyder. With a partner, he moved his practice to Tahoka in 1965. In 1969, he moved to Lubbock and opened his practice there in 1970. He retired in 1999. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Dr. Brecheen married Betty Bergeron Smith in 1972. She died in 1993. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in George H. Lewis Funeral Home. Mr. Tinsley was born in Pampa and moved to Homer, La., where he graduated from high school. He attended Northwestern Louisiana College before entering the Navy. After his military service, he moved to Houston and graduated from the University of Houston. He worked as a certified life underwriter, starting his career with Great Southern Life Insurance Co. He co-founded Columbia Universal Life Insurance Co. and founded Tinsley Insurance Agency. Mr. Tinsley was an advocate for wetlands and wildlife conservation. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jones Tinsley; two daughters, Tommye Tinsley Powell and Linda Tinsley Preston; two sisters, Betty Tinsley McDavid and Joyce Tinsley, both of Houston; a brother, Travis Tinsley of Homer; and four grandchildren. Memorial services in Dumas, Texas, are pending. Mrs. Cook was born in Kansas City, Mo. She had lived in Harrisonville since 1985 before moving to Dumas. She moved to Nowata in May. She worked as an "A" operator for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. in Louisburg, Kan. She also worked as a sales associate for J. Harold Smith Real Estate in Harrisonville and as a unit secretary for Moore County Hospital District in Dumas. Mrs. Cook was a member of the St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Nowata. She was a former member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville and the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas. Survivors include a son, Sean Patrick Cook of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Kim Bybee of Dumas and Jennifer Ring of Grandview; two brothers, Fred Monteil Jr. of Yukon, Okla., and Bill Monteil of Platte City; five sisters, Mary Lynne Buhlitz of Bella Vista, Ark., Sharon Aring of Smithville, Helen Betts of Five Points, Ala., Sue Deily of Gardner, Kan., and Johannah Johnson of Taberville; and four grandchildren.
